Hype TV Club does Game of Thrones in February!

i just finished season 3, episode 9 and i am pissed!!!!!

this was me for the last 10 minutes or so

i guess this was the infamous Red Wedding. O.M.G. i had to turn my head at the brutality of it. Filch has just made my top 8 on Myspace of most hated people on this show. they even had to kill the wolf! -_____-
but seriously, what they did to Talisa was so so cruel. i remember seeing Taking Lives in the movie theatres (jolie/hawke) and there's a scene towards the end that's reminiscent and i remember a collective intake of breathe, gasps and omgs by pretty much everyone in the theatre. this was so so worse. thank goodness the blood spill was so theatrical cuz i needed that to look as unrealistic as popular. i truly hate gore. why the heck am i still watching this?!?!

like i'm totally mad. these episode 9's are killing me. it's time for me to go to bed, but how can i go to bed after i just saw that.

Catelyn deserved so much better. she might've been my favorite on the show, definitely one of the front runners. how many massacres does Arya have to watch? the pairing of her and the hound is kinda interesting.
shoutout to Tyrion for being a decent dude. i totally forgot that Sansa is 14.

Yes these were especially entertaining for those of us who knew what was coming.

btw, i think i'm the only one here who doesn't really care about Ygritte? also, i really hope Tarly picked up that dragon blade before he ran. i can't remember if he did or not. but while he was braving the White Walker and afterwards, i hummed I'll make a man out of you" lol. Let's get down to business, to defeat, the White Walkers!

edit: i totally did not know we had a Game of Thrones subforum lol and i work here

IMO, the RW in the show is worse than the books just because of the Talisa thing. They should have had Grey Wind own some asses before he died... talk about (another) complete waste of the Direwolves...

After the Red Wedding... You don't look like a ComicChick anymore. That's a name for a Mod. But you're not a Mod... Are you? You're just...Chick. Stinking Chick.You... Reek. :wow::wow::wow::wow::wow::wow::wow:

ComicReek! That's a good name for you! What's your name?

I don't give much of a **** about Ygritte either.

I feel like Ros had a bigger fan base than Ygritte lol

When Joffrey offed Ros that was when I had enough of his ****.

Funny, that was the one time I liked Joff.

i wasn't aware of a thing, but i think i will have to now

yes, i would've liked to have seen Grey Wind fight back. Robb didn't die very easily and was one of the last to go, despite being impaled by arrows. it's kinda poetic of a parallel they both were shot with arrows, but with the myths of robb being able to turn into a wolf and all, i just don't like how he didn't get to fight back :argh:

also, i wiki'd the red wedding after watching it to see how it was changed in the book, if at all. and yeah, it was!

I feel like Ros had a bigger fan base than Ygritte lol

i liked her a lot more. i feel like she had more character depth and growth. she deserved better than what she got. another reason i hate baelish.

i just don't really see why Snow likes Ygritte so much, unless it's because she's the first girl he's seen in a very long time. it was obvious from the get-go she wanted him. she's funny at times, but im not really invested in her

Funny, that was the one time I liked Joff.

i haven't liked him ever. he's just evil. he's unnecessarily cruel to Sansa, and tried to mortify her post wedding with the bedding ceremony. i initially thought tyrion was pretending to be completely drunk to save her, and would be sober once they made it to the room, but i still think i was partially right, even though he was plastered.
and then when joffrey said
he'd sneak to her room and have his way with her after his uncle, even going so far as to say he'd have his men hold her down... ugh i have no sympathy for that boy.

i kinda feel for sansa a bit. i don't find her overly compelling, but she's completely screwed and she has to be so controlled because you can't trust anyone in king's landing. she has no one to really talk to or confide in, she has no clue where her sister is, she's an orphan and the eldest stark now and she doesn't even know it yet

also, that daario boy is pretty :awesome:

LOL i was kidding. I hate Joff. I just hated Ros, too. season 4...Get on with it! /HoundScream.

Don't get used to that Daario :lmao:

i'm watching the last ep of season 3 now.

fwiw, i hate joffrey, but that means the kid playing him is a pretty decent actor to make me dislike him so much. unfortunately, i'll never be able to see him as anyone else and not want to punch him in the ear :argh:

here comes the king in the noooortth

though i thought you said you finished season 3... but had only finished s3e9 :(

i'm on the last episode of season 3 now. and i saw that part. not cool :down

i don't want to see walder frey anymore. stupid squib

Jinglebell would have made it more tragic.

finished the first ep of s4. another house comes to play. so many people! but apparently this guy has a great reputation and apparently he's danys brother in law? so i'm intrigued to see what role he will play.

the scene with Sansa and the ex-knight in the garden was sweet.
grandma tyrell is still a hoot.

i don't like jamie's haircut. also, i didn't realize he was playing 40, and since he's a twin, so it cersei. i figured them early to mid 30's since everyone seems to start having kids so young. i know cersei was wed to robert for 17 years, so she was 23 show-wise when she had joffrey right? i'm fairly sure i heard them say he was turning 17 in an episode.

more fun with Hound and Arya. glad she got needle back. i'd like for her and gendry to meet back up one day. i think Ned and Robert would be proud to have two of their legit kids wed one day lol

also, where is my pretty Daario?!?

The actress who played Talisa is the granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin

:themoreyouknow:

Funny, here I thought it was Mr. Ed.

Are you talking about House Martell? If so, that is Oberyn. He isn't Danys uncle, but traveled the world and is a very skilled fighter. He also likes sex.

Technically, Oberyn is Dany's brother-in-law. His sister married and had children with Dany's eldest brother, Rhaegar. That is until Gregor Clegane killed them.

so that would make them in-laws then?
didn't he say that his sister was rhaegar's wife?
all this crap is confusing lol

also, i did not know grandma tyrell played Emma Peel on the avengers show. and was a bond girl. go girl!

also, i keep getting martell and tyrell mixed up. they sound too similar. too many houses. too many cooks!
