i actually enjoyed this...

Yeah I can see people not liking certain aspects of it but some call it a complete train wreck and I really think that harsh.

yeah it is harsh...
No one can call one movie that was perfect... nothing and nobody is perfect...

Above all I wish the movie had been longer. And I really wish the lake scene had been longer.

The only thing i wished was that Rogue didn't take the cure.. but i understand and respect it

If she had had the superstrength and flying abilities when she got the cure I would have been angry but since she didnt I wasnt really that bothered by it.

No not really you are right... but the power she had was great to bad she didn't control them in the movie

Yeah I did feel bad for her. Her powers is a cool, but dangerous power. It did kinda bother me that it seemed like she got the cure cuz she wanted to have sex with Bobby. I mean I know they spent three films showing her grappling with her powers but it still felt like that.
On the other hand, and I know i've said it before, to me she reperesented the mutants who's powers isolate them to an extent.

Agreed, I think it was a good film. But it wasn't the epic I think a lot of people expected after X2. It was just good, which is the disappointing part...not to mention the basic disregard for comic lore, but it's over and done now.

At least I'm glad Singer is getting almost 95% positive reviews for SR (even from Aint It Cool), just makes me realize: what could he and his writers have done with X3?

Umm, movies that are perfect? Lord of the Rings(Trilogy), X2, Batman Begins, Gone With The Wind, Lawrence of Arabia, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Alien, Terminator 1 and 2, and the list goes on.

As far as X3 is concerned, the movie was good and the fact that it wasn't a trainwreck due to studio politics and rushed filming production is a miracle in itself.

No one is outright hating the film as a whole. The problem with the film is that it's too fast, there's not enough emotional impact that allows the film to expand and breath, and the overall wasted potential of the Phoenix Saga is what has pissed off the hardcore fans.

Me? I'm a hardcore fan of X-Men. I love the comics, loved the The Animated Series, and really enjoy X-Men: Evolution. Fox really messed up the franchise from becoming as great as it could've been.

Things that were wrong with the film:

1. Lack of character development. Not enough time was given to tell the stories of Angel, Beast, and Juggernaut.

2. Too many characters. There were too many mutant cameos for the sake of mutant cameos.

3. Rogue taking the cure. (In the comics she would've never have done it and never would've left her team in their time of need.)

4. Too much Wolverine and him taking over Scotts role.

5. Scott's implied "death".

6. The wasted potential of the Phoenix saga and the emotion it carried with it.

7. Xavier dying, Jean dying, Mystique being cured, and the lack of Colossus really alienated fans as well.

8. Killing off Archlight, Quills, and not having them form the Morlocks in the sewers.

9. Killing off Psylocke(Big no-no).

Overall it's not a horrible movie by any means. But it's just that maybe they should've waited for Singer, instead of outright trying to get this film out so it can beat Superman Returns at the theater.

While X2 is an excellent movie, it's not perfect.

X2 was excellent and is the flagship x-men movie for me...XTLS...is not a terrible movie or a bad movie nor is it a good movie....just what lastsunrise said..wasted potential...it was given everything to be great but it just a lackluster movie

sir Mckellen is brilliance. beside that, I just didn't much care for it.

Despite what others think, I thought the Phoenix storyline was done well, the effects(firebird should have been there) were good, and Famke conveyed such emotion.

Overall, yes... I think they did the best possible translation to keep it realistic.

However, the lack of Cyclops' involvement, and giving his role to Wolverine, did hurt that part of the film for me. And I'm not even a Wolverine hater (I really do like the character), nor am I a huge fan of the Phoenix Saga. Cyclops just should have been there.

But I do agree with the poster who said "instead of dwelling on what was done wrong, I choose to enjoy it for what it did right"

That's how I feel. They did a lot right.

-Beast was done with PERFECTION!
-Magneto was brilliant as always.
-Professor Xavier was swell.
-Storm, though still not Storm, was the best Storm we've had in 3 movies.
-Angel had an awesome extended cameo / bit role.
-Even though he didn't do anything, it was great to have Colossus be a part of the team this time around. Not much, but at least a bit of payoff for his awesome introduction in X2.
-Iceman iced up!!!!!!!! (I just wish he ice slid into the final battle)
-Juggernaut was awesome, I don't care if he was underused. He was awesome, and the best "henceman" villian this trilogy has seen.
-Makeshift Morlocks. That was great. Morlocks are classic. These weren't the real Morlocks, but as far as I'm concerned, they were the Morlocks. No Omega Muties for me! I got to see the Morlocks! :D
-For crappy characters that nobody knew who they were, Arclight and Quill were excecuted pretty well in my mind. Such ****ing attitude.
-Pyro was done great. I loved how his angle played out.
-I even highly enjoyed Kitty Pryde's character!!! I think my ramblings against Kitty Pryde during the making of this film are no secret. She was one of the more enjoyable parts of this film for me. Although I could have done without the "********" line, but whatever.
-Best plot of the 3 in the cure, even if it wasn't excecuted to perfection.
-Wolverine's scene in the woods, ****ing awesome. That's more vintage Wolverine than the mansion scene in X2.
-Final battle anyone? Magneto launching cars at Alcatraz as Pyro sets them on fire. Ultimate pwnage.
-Mystique finally taken out! I hate that *****!
-Magneto's cold shoulder towards Mystique. Wow.
-Golden Gate Bridge sequence... wow (could have done without the family in the SUV locking the doors though)

I still feel this movie did more right than wrong. Yea, it made bigger wrongs than X-Men or X2, but it still got most of it right. And the wrongs, though inaccurate to the source material, AT LEAST work within the films.
