Yeah, having the Chipmunks rap would be terrible for the movie. Hollywood may have thought that it would be cutesy & cool to dress the Chipmunks up like gansters & have them sing hip hop/rap but in the long run it will probably hurt the movie. Since the whole boy band craze has died down what else was left for them to cover besides hip hop & rap? The Chipmunks have made their living doing annoying cover versions of other people's songs so what better type of music to annoy us with now than rap?
