the lowest grossing mcu film was tih, under $300 million. and if dr. strange made even that, I'd call it a success.
Yep, it sure does. That has quite a few comic book actors in that film.
I think it will be successful in the United States, but it will be a tough sell internationally.
I think the MCU is growing up, Winter Soldier was it hitting puberty. Just like the Harry Potter franchise. As Thanos draws nearer you'll see dark times coming across all the films. Age of Ultron looks grim as hell. Civil War Tony will have lost his smile and pretty much becomes a bad guy, Thor Ragnarok probably won't have Jane Foster or Darci in it and will be about the end of asgard, Fiege said it would be one of the most important films of Phase 3. So I think it's time for some dark stories and leave the winks and nudges of the MCU back in the past.
But I could be wrong and Age of Ultron is even "funnier" than The Avengers and the trailer fooled us all.
Agreed. In fact, I'd argue that Dr. Strange is probably an easier sell than GOTG and we all know how that turned out.
That's actually a very good point. How did I miss that.
But even The Winter Soldier had a bunch of funny moments. Age Of Ultron looks like to have some of that too. I just can't see that with Strange. Maybe if they'll borrow some elements of Sherlock humor ? Where his humor comes from his own intelligence and supremeness ? I wonder how they'll handle the character. I hope they don't make him too boring.
If Cap can do well overseas (given the notion that many countries hate America) why can't BP?I think it will be successful in the United States, but it will be a tough sell internationally.

I have 0 worries about Strange, Ant-Man and the rest because if Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and GOTG are of any indication, it'll do fine. TIH is/was practically a learning curve compared to what I've listed

You do realise the Cold War has ended right? If Cap can do well overseas (given the notion that many countries hate America) why can't BP?

BP will be helped by his appearance in Civil War.
