I, Frankenstein

Drop the "bad" or "ass" part and you're right.
"those gargoyle monsters looked bad tho"

:woot:

I'm being hard on this movie but it's just so easy.

This would have been a better as a videogame.

:funny: Haven't watched the trailer yet but I'm loving these comments.

It really looks no worse than I was already expecting it to. :o

I think Eckhart should stick to movies like Neverwas. I agree with those of you that said he just doesn't seem like an action hero star. If he keeps picking movies like this, his career is going to go down the tubes. He needs this said to him...:woot:

3 Aussie girls in this film!

I have to say that it's almost embarrassing to see Eackhart in this!

I took a look at the comic, and it was this weird little indy thing with Frankenstein as this sort of hardboiled private detective. I mean I didn't think it was especially great or anything.

Now he's like fighting fallen angels or something. Weird. Just looks weird and unintentionally goofy.

Like why is he fighting angels? Who are all these Frankenstein clones? They are fighting the angels, so who are the bad guys? Confusing.

It looks like a cross between Underworld and Van Helsing but in all honesty I thought the trailer looked alright, definitely looks better than I thought it would at least.. If it's more like Underworld than Van Helsing it could at least be fun.

I do like the way the angel wings react and kinda fold/warp in to their human self/clothes.. It's a neat visual imo.

Just be glad they aren't making that Paradise Lost movie.

I've just watched it, they are truly merited, it looks hilariously awful! :D Poor Ekhart and Yvonne. :(
Indeed. I just watched and had a hard time enjoying the awfulness because I realized how many people I like are in the cast, which just made me sad. Somebody must have had dirt on all of them. It's the only explanation, lol.

Eckhart was a decent villain in Paycheck.

He was rather bland in Bourne knock off The Expatriate, Olympus Has Fallen and The Core.

looks like harmless b movie sci fi films like van helsing and underworld

these films are my guilty pleasures

Count me as one that loved the trailer. I have no knowledge about anything having to do with this movie outside of the first pic of Eckhart shirtless and the trailer. There are a few things that make me think they'll be groan worthy in the theater, but that has more to do with the set pieces looking too over-the-top as opposed to just being all around bad.

What is the budget of this thing? It looks very cheap.

Trailer looks awful. Like a worse Van Helsing. Aaron just can't seem to find his place lately. He's not an action star.

Ha ha, I liked the look of it, looks like a real guilty pleasure movie that I will enjoy despite it being mindless.

I'm the same, except for loving the trailer. I know nothing of the story, and will see it on Netflix most likely.

+1

I want him to succeed, but action just isn't for him.

although i COULD see him as Elongated Man :word:

^His acting is the thing I am least worried about in this movie, he just needs to pick better projects, though personally I like the look of this.

Honestly I thought it looked interesting up until the point were it was made into an all-out war against humanity. Not everything has to be that big in scale.

They've scaled it this high so many times that they can't go any higher so we're now stuck with a ridiculous level of danger. For once I'd like to see them talk about just one person. Or even just because it's a revenge thing. No need to involve the entire race of humanity every time.

I found the line about being a monster or not being a monster or whatever it was kind of ironic, because I don't feel like I'm watching a monster in the least. I feel like I'm watching Aaron Eckhardt as a very human protagonist. This trailer did make me long for a GARGOYLES movie again.
