I have a bad feeling about this....

Well, I'd envision it more like, they do the Marvel logo, then go to the CGI intro through the "R", and then just start the movie.

But I could be wrong. It's just a theory I came up with, because I remember asking Kinberg about it, and he said they wanted to respect the franchise, but also make it unique.

yes yes, but how could that be a problem? welp.......i cant prove anything of course, but serioussly, lol im sure the opening will rock, and the marvel logo will be EXACTLY liek x2 no doubt:up: though the opening CGI will start out slow like it has been, then show maybe recap pictures of x2 ala spiderman 2 but liek in some cool effects or some weird ****, maybe thats what they meant, theres aLOT fo different WAYS you can put your OWN spin on it and still stay true to the originals, without having to PLUG the MARVEL logo right in the beggining of the opening, thats just homo and unthinkable.

Yeah, I agree. I think we've heard Xavier's opening monologue as played in the announcement teaser. I also agree with Nell's contention. To open the movie without Cerebro would be inconsistent and a poor choice on the creative team's part.

again, tehres no othrer way to use this marvel logo, absolutely no other way, they only use it in the trailers for that effect, trailers always show the companies name liek after its started a little bit, look its hard to explain, but really....how are you worrying about THIS OF ALL THINGS, lol! seriously, it isnt possible to do that amrvel logo as the "cerebro door"

Why am I worried about "THIS OF ALL THINGS"?

Because, to be quite blunt with you, there is nothing else about this production that I find to be worrysome. Some others are worried about this, that, or the other thing. But not me. I am totally confident in this movie.

But I am worried about this, because even though it is a minor detail, the minor details can sometimes have a huge impact. And it's the minor details like this that help to keep movies in a series connected, and really feel like a trilogy. Again, it's like Bond not having the gunbarrel sequence, and the theme song intros. It's like Star Wars without "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..." and then the intro to the story going up the screen, and off into space.

At least it's like this... the one thing I am worried about in this movie, I'll know straight away. It will be the first damned thing after the previews, so after I see the traditional opening sequence, I can breathe a sigh of relief, and enjoy the movie.

And since I'm not worried about Cyclops' fate (he'll live), I won't be watching the movie through my hands because I'm worried he's gonna eat it hardcore.

also, i dont want it to say "X3" in big CGI letters, not with all this "The Last Stand" title they've been pushing at us so much.

If it just says "X3" then I will refuse to call it "The Last Stand". If Ratner comes up to me and goes: "So how did you like my movie X:Men The Last Stand" I'll be like: "Hey, man, that movie doesnt exist"

what will the CGI be this time? it was an intergalactic woman in X2, and genetic-cellular brain stuff in X1...

I think it would be cool to have it underwater. Lets say this: We know the opening scene is Jean's flashback. I could see the opening being underwater, lurking toward something... nothing anyone can really make out. But suddenly, an eye -right in the screen- opens and glows brightly, with a warm, red fire. Then, it could go into the eye, travel some random neuro pathways, end up in the brain -doors shut- open to flashback OR it could just go into the eye -doors shut- and open to flashback. But I think it would be cool, a underwater, Alkali CGI opening.

I don't mind them changing up the CGI sequence. That's fine.

In fact, I'm pretty sure they are probably gonna do the door slam, and claws, like they did at the end of the teaser, showcasing the logo for "X3". And I wouldn't mind that. Just as long as there is an Xavier voiceover, and the Cerebro door thing, I'll be happy.

X2 didn't say "X-Men United" in the CGI sequence, just "X2"... yet it's still called X2: X-Men United

Well... duh.

Its things like this why I rarely cruise this fourum any more. You all need to take after Worthy and take a break, your all over analyzing ever little spec of what the producers give you. Calm down people and take a break.

That'd be cool.

One thing that I like is how the CGI sequence both times thus far has forshadowed the plot of the movie.

X-Men had Magneto's machine effects in the CGI sequence

X2 had the shifting Cerebro panels (when Magneto alters Cerebro to target humans)

X-Men 3 could have some water or fire effects, and that would be awesome.

not in my country, its called X-Men 2.

Will Ottman's theme be at play?

Nope, he's not involved in the movie.

And in the case of themes, inconsistancy is actually consistant.

Ottman's theme for X2 was different than the theme by Kaman for X-Men, so there's no reason why Powell's for X-Men 3 should be the same as Ottman's for X2.

exactly, im not sure what hes talking about, lol

the movie is still x3 and can be called the last stand because thats teh SUBTITLE.

X-men 3: The Last Stand aka X3 aka X-men teh last stand or the last stand or X3 the last stand its all the ****ing same thing...doesnt matter what it says and i surely HOPE it says "X3" at the opening or at least "X-men 3"

Well, Australia doesn't count! Here in America, where things actually matter (see attatched picture):

(P.S.: The whole America counting, but Australia not counting, was just a joke :p)

as much as i want consistancy, i do agree with you here, the hardcore consistanteee will want inconsistant music, lol i hope powells theme is really ahrd hitting and in your face or something, lol or really emotional.

X1s themes had some techno in it, if you listen closely, and x2 was very classy and stylish, and i hope X3 is really hardcore epic  maybe a mix of the previous, god i cant ****ING WAIT TO SEE AND HEAR THIS ****

****ing aye.

As much as I don't think Fox is as much of the devil as everyone makes them out to be when it comes to these movies, they sure do like to force their way into a subtitle!

I didn't know that about X-Men United, I honestly just thought Bryan Singer was that uncreative when it came to titles, lol.

But it's the same case with The Last Stand. When asked about the title, Kinberg replied "Is that the title? It wasn't myself, Zak, or Brett" (answering the question of who came up with the title), so it was obviously Fox.

Your right, thats ways cooler. I just remembered Batman Begins' awesome opening. and various others, Lost in Space, and so on.

What do you think of Lord of the Rings subtitle style?

Yeah, its funny you should say that seeing as you showed me a DVD cover with a freaking Australian taking most of the space on it. :D

EDIT: Actually I never saw Hugh Jackman in anything before X Men, he wasnt really BIG (except he was big on the theatre scene) but Eris Bana was a huge celebrity and comedian. He had this character who just watched football, drank beer and smoked:

And Julian McMahon was in soap operas...
