I have a question regarding the "PG-13" Regulation of the Hype

I have mentioned to Mirko before that a number of the censored words here are allowed in PG-13 movies, i think the language rules are run closer to PG.

maybe the mods could make a trial forum .........were even if ur banned he u can post in were can try to explain ur case.

I proposed the idea of a poster liaison group before but it was seen as unworkable b/c 90% of posters that got an infraction would want an investigation into it, b/c the truth often is that none of us like being told what to do, especially when the person doing the telling is only different to them by a font colour and the owners trust, mods are not specially trained or anything, it's a lot based on trying to balance the rules with context.

Really? I'm one that accepts his infractions and punishments. Like I know why I was put on probation both times, didn't agree with the second time, but I knew why it was done.

Most infractions see posters arguing over them. I think context is the key to most situations unless it is very clear cut.

I make sure mine are clear cut.:csad:

I think you would cut down on many complaints if posts and threads found to be infraction/ban worthy were locked instead of deleted. Most of the time, people aren't getting the full story and asking questions on why a poster got banned, and instead of getting it straight from the source, there's a lot of third party/hearsay going around.

Definitive. :D

I think it might be an idea to take said post and for the mod to put a note in it to say it's been dealt with, thus anyone complaining about nothing being done over someone flaming them will see that something has been done, and others will know the deal as you say.

I get what you mean, Darth, but if someone's been banned because of some posts, then in some way that means that those posts are unfit for the boards. Sooo, they have to go, I would imagine.

Again, I'd like to thank the mods and Superhero Hype! himself for joining in this discussion and not closing it right away like sometimes in the past. I truly appreciate the effort in joining forces for the betterment of the Hype.

So it's agreed that Darth and I are the ambassadors to the moderation of SHH?

Listen, I'm not trying to turn this into an anti-moderator thread either, and neither is Darthphere.

There are many fine moderators who do a really good job here, Bella, Hunter, Bamfer, Show, Fire to name a few. I know they put up with a lot and then some. I'd just like more of their understanding of the rule guidelines and spread it out to some of the other mods.

Don't forget Kel!

I like the idea of putting in place measures which would hold the Mods accountable for several injustices. However, I think you are living in a fantasy land if you think that is going to happen.
we can dream of a utopian forum cant we.

Well of course, those posts contain graphic imagery and such need to be deleted right away.

Generally speaking. I don't think you should say anything here that you wouldn't say before a priest or your grandmother.

That's the general rule I go by.

Nothing can be said here that really requires breaking the censors of the Hype.

But what if the Priest is....nevermind.

I hate that I know where you were going with that.

That's actually a very broad thing to say, considering everything I've said here I'd have no problem telling a priest, and my grandmother has a mouth dirtier than Northern New Jersey.

I'm not sure which thread this would go in
