and colossus's skin becomes transparent in the movies when his muscles turn steel
Has that been officially said? Because as far as I know, Organic Metal covers him, and always has.
I know.....but this is worse than Greedo shooting first.
1st time I have ever said that
Danger is Meh, because I feel that she is an unecessary figure of a character that I don't think we'll see outside of Whedon's Astonishing..........but i would like an Ord.
its been years since ive seen star wars, whats this about now?I know.....but this is worse than Greedo shooting first.

Whether we see her again or not, she's still a character that sprung from some of the best X-Men in years, probably ever. You don't need to be as Whedon-obsessed as I am to see that. Only time will tell just how historically great Astonishing will be. And yes, there should be an Ord.
Let's forget about X3. As far as I'm concerned, that pile of dog crap masquerading around as a movie doesn't exist.
In the original version of the movie, Han Solo shot Greedo after he perceived him as a threat. In the 90's, when the movie was re released in theaters for the Special Edition, George Lucas felt that the scene cast Han in an evil light, so he had Greedo shoot first.
It looked stupid and hokey, not to mention that it sent the message that George Lucas feels everything in the SW universe needs to be in black and white, making what made Han Solo so cool in the first place void.
True, X3 worked on a Brett Ratner level, but that really isn't saying much. He's a hack, and there's nothing anyone can say to make me think otherwise. Yes, it had action, and it worked well, but it disregarded everything else ANYONE loves about the X-Men. Another thing is that it took way to many liberties with the characters. I understand that in the translation between comic to film, certain liberties need to be made to appeal to those outside the comic reading audience, but X3 pretty much said, "Comic fans, we're taking your beloved characters and screwing them over and we don't even care." Cyclops, the LEADER OF THE X-MEN died. LAME. Professor X died. EVEN MORE LAME. Powers got screwed up, the Sentinel was a tease, Rogue sold out...Oh, and the good news is that we can now identify anyone who might be bad! Just looks for the black goth look and tattoos! Thanks, X3!
Sorry. Movie is crap. Entertaining crap, sure, but should be looked at as a slap in the face to every X-Men fan out there.
And it's Star Wars. Of course it's a fanboy ***** fit. Get over it.
See now, all the stuff you just listed as problems reminded me of more reasons why I didn't like it. The drama wasn't there. And when it comes to X-Men, there's a certain drama that Ratner didn't achieve. The whole "protecting those who fear and hate you" wasn't really there, among other things. I suppose that Singer already had that covered, and one could argue it wasn't necessary to try to go any further with it. Regardless, I feel that it is an essential part of the X-Men. So aside from the problems you and I already mentioned, due to the lack of drama, to me it feels like an unbalanced movie. It's like the inverse of Spidey 3. I may have walked out of Spidey 3 being a tad bored, but X3 made me angry. And hell, I'm more a Spidey fan than X-Men! You'd think I would have taken Spidey 3 as more of an insult!
I'd just like to say that I'm not meaning to come across venomous. Let's put it this way. Say you haven't watched any of the X-Men movies for awhile, and let's say your choices are the 2nd and 3rd. The choice seems obvious to me. Given the quality of the 1st and 2nd movies, I don't see much reason to watch X3 more than once. It's a common occurrence with trilogies, and I can't think of any 3rd installment that doesn't disappoint.
Wolverine being a screen hog seemed more apparent to me in X3 than in the other two. Stopping Phoenix required NO teamwork. It was Wolverine's win, and it sets him up to be the hero of the movie. Meh.
Beast was a joy though.
*sigh*
I think we can agree that ANYBODY would pile on too much Wolverine. He's been "the hook" so to speak since he joined the team. Look at the Toy Biz ML. Or their 90's X-Men toys. Or the cartoon. Or anything. There was too much Wolverine in X1 and 2, and there was in 3. Always has been the case in any X-subject.
Let's set aside this comic book store argument. I dont' even remember what this thread was about.
