I Know You'll Have The Dack Stecked Against The Wrestling Thread

I believe there exist many ways to salvage Wrestlemania at this point. Most of them involve Rollins walking out as champion though, with Paul Heyman as his manager.

I figure either Rollins cashes in or Reigns turns heel w/ Heyman becoming his manager. I am so interested to see if the 'E actually has the balls to go through with Reigns beating Lesnar clean while staying a face. The following RAW will be glorious if that happens.

This pic sums up how stale WWE is, remove Rollins and this is the McMahon/Helmsley dynasty from 15 tears ago.

This is just a poor man's Corporation. The Authority could be great if booked with the right characters, but this is just stale.

It's a shame too. They made Kane so generic and boring when at this stage of his career he should be a special character with his mask and used to help enhance other talents.

Big Show is just dead as a character. He's turned so many times and been booked like a crybaby, back to a monster when WWE needs one, to a just a lap dog. I just have no investment in him anymore.

Noble and JM are just there.

HHH and Steph are good characters when booked against the right wrestlers, but I am ultra tired of Steph emasculating every wrestler who crosses her path.

Rollins is gold of course.

So obviously this years WrestleMania has no excitement or momentum behind it. Yay....

Apparently WWE is planning on throwing everything they have in next year's Mania in hopes of breaking the WrestleMania 3 attendance record.

So that has me wondering, what do you think next year's top matches will look like?

I'm guessing WWE tries to get Austin, The Rock, Taker, and Sting all on this card. The only match for certain I think will be on it is Sting vs Taker.

WrestleMania 32

Roman Reigns vs. John Cena
Sting vs. Taker
The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar (If he renews)
Stone Cold vs ??? (I would have said Punk but obviously that is possibility is slim to none, so I'm not sure. It's possible Stone Cold simply doesn't wrestle)

To me, it hinges on Lesnar's contract status.

No contract: Reigns beats Lesnar, Rollins cashes in, Heyman ballshots Reigns, Rollins pins him, Rollins and Heyman celebrate on the ramp (Heyman's plan B). Sets up a championship program with Orton; Reigns gets a midcard feud with Sheamus or the remnants of the Authority.

Contract: Lesnar beats Reigns. Rollins cashes in, Heyman ballshots Lesnar. Rollins pins him, Rollins and Heyman celebrate on the ramp. Sets up a sick program with Lesnar bent on vengeance.

Kane and Big Show gotta go. I said last night, replace them with The Ascension as Rollins thugs and let his heat rub off on them. Rollins is the type of heel that should always have a pretty girl on his arm. I say pair him up with someone that's useless on the wrestling end like Eva Marie or Layla.

As soon as Rollins becomes champ I'd like to see him distanced from HHH/Steph entirely and let him run his own stable.

Big Show is still a decent worker, and is great with the kids and the community relations stuff. He hasn't been the greatest evil henchman, but I don't see why we need to put him out to pasture just yet.

Kane is good as long as he's got the costume.

The lack of fresh talent in that group is startling, but it's the concept that is the most tired aspect, the evil authority archetype has been rode into the ground by WWE in the same way Bischoff and Russo ground the faction warfare for the promotion angle into dust.

To me if they feel they need a character on air to give the show a structure for the matches, then make the character a neutral type that merely sticks their head out to make matches after the actual wrestlers have set their feuds in motion. Authority figures using their position to cut 15 minute promos and make the wrestlers look like chumps is not helping the product at all IMO.

Austin would only wrestle Brock or Punk according to the interviews he's given, but I actually think he's satisfied with being retired much like Shawn.

The rest makes me want to crawl into a ball and weep. :(

I'm in agreement the evil authority figure concept is one that needs to go away, but we know it never will as long as Vince is running the show. The best we can hope for is one filled with fresh and entertaining talents.

I did not know Austin said he's wrestle Brock. Given Brock's physical style, I assumed he never would risk getting in the ring with him. I still think WWE is going to throw a lot of money at Austin in hopes he will wrestle, but I suspect he will not. Punk will not be back, and no one else is booked strong enough that Austin would want to wrestle.

There's no doubt the card is going to be filled with past attractions and part-timers, which is sad when you realize that it means no new stars are being created or put over. This is the WWE world we live these days.

I hope I am wrong and WWE presents a fresh card with new talents, but I highly doubt it. I shudder to think Cena will be headlining. He hasn't been the top billing for two years now so you know Vince will be dying to put him back on top.

So, I won't be ordering WrestleMania 31. I look at the card, and it doesn't excite me at all. The only match that remotely piques my interest is Sting VS Triple H, since I've always loved Sting and there's some novelty about him being in WWE, but I know it's not gonna be a workrate classic, so that alone isn't going to make me cough up money to see the show. The booking of Daniel Bryan, and the underwhelming main event they seem determined to go with, says to me that WWE are doggedly proclaiming that, no, they're not booking for me, they're not interested in presenting a show that I want to see, they're not just telling me they don't want my money, they're angrily shouting it in my face. So, that's fair enough.

If you're excited about WrestleMania, if you're looking forward to Roman Reigns VS Brock Lesnar and the rest of the card, that's cool. By all means order the show, I hope you enjoy it. But if you're on here complaining about how rotten this show is looking, how you don't see what you want as a fan reflected in the card, and you still order it anyway "CAUSE IT'S WRESTLEMANIA AND I CAN'T MISS WRESTLEMANIA!"... then you're part of the problem. It's because of fans like you that WWE Creative can keep on crapping on us and then shrug and say, "Meh, the fans moan and whine, but when it comes down to it, of course they'll keep on buying our crap, so we can just do what we want." They'll only listen if we vote with our wallets. So if this show doesn't excite you, don't buy it!

I subscribed to the Network only because of Sting signing with WWE.

The is a big part of me that wonders if I'll continue to watch wrestling after he officially retires. All the 23 years I've watched wrestling has been because either Sting was active or because of the idea he may show up somewhere. Soon he will no longer be around and with the way WWE and TNA book their products, there is not much for me to look forward to anymore.

Kinda sad to think about honestly.

Edit: I'm told linking to an F-bomb is not okay (which is is absurd, if true), so I encourage everyone to search for "Wrestling isn't wrestling" on Youtube.

I got into trouble for posting a video with a swear word before, and I think it's patently absurd. We're all adults or at least teenagers on this forum, and in this thread we're continually discussing and sharing images of violence, and often pics of near-nude women too. But if we say something stronger than "poop" or "fudge darn it".... oh no! The sky is going to fall!

Even on the off-chance there are kids on this forum, I assure you they've heard it all before.

One of the dumbest mod rules on the Hype, and has been for some time. You don't want people swearing on the board? Fine, put in an automatic censor. But banning the linking on interesting, relevant videos because someone might say a Bad Word here and there in them is baffling.

Kane is good as long as he's got the costume.

As solid as Glenn Jacobs is the Kane character rarely results in good TV. There's not a character in wrestling that has had more terrible storylines than Kane. Once 2002 hit Kane started to be involved in some the worst stuff ever produced by WWE.

Big Show has been caught in a never-ending cycle of turning from jolly face to corporate sell out since Over The Limit 2012, It's tiring and it makes fans hate seeing his face on TV because he feels like filler when he's on screen now.

Until I visited the Wrestling Thread, I did not know any swear words, and had no idea there were sexualized photographs of women available on the Internet! Shame on all of you! :argh:

Ugh, as much as I love Rock (honestly, he's my favorite wrestler of all-time), they shouldn't have to rely on him again for the ratings. They shouldn't rely on Stone Cold either because Stone Cold/Lesnar is never happening. If only they could get CM Punk somehow, but that'll never happen either.

The 'E has plenty of talent who could be in huge matches next year. Just write storylines better. It isn't hard.

To me, it hinges on Lesnar's contract status.

I hate to be a Negative Nancy but in either of those scenarios, we get two outcomes:

- Reigns being pushed to the moon ends up being a complete waste of time and effort. Reigns gets irreparable damage to his status. The 'E also looks stupid for the obvious cold feet.
- It is just more salt in the wound for those wondering why the hell Daniel Bryan was brought back for the Rumble.

The 'E really wrote themselves into a corner.

The Authority could have been fantastic if they just implemented wrestlers who were in limbo. Kane has been Director of Operations for a hot minute so I guess he can stay. But imagine if they put Ziggler and Cesaro in there. Hell, even Ryback would be great if he was written correctly. Barrett would have been nice, too. Then imagine having other wrestlers feuding with those guys.

Why am I not a writer?

It's official:

Jimmy Jacobs will face BJ Whitmer at SCOH. That is a pretty fitting final match for Jimmy.

Every time the WWE Universe chants yes in response to Bryan, the more enraged Vince McMahon gets.
