I Know You'll Have The Dack Stecked Against The Wrestling Thread

I re-watched the Boss Man Vs. Undertaker HIAC recently. I think it gets sh**ted on too much mainly because neither Undertaker or Boss Man were crazy enough to take a "Holy sh**!" bump. The match was okay for what it was. It had blood, was kept short, and they actually used the Cell as a weapon unlike the gimmick matches of today.

Kudos to The Undertaker though. As soon as he heard the audience start to sour on the match, he went straight to the finish.

What did you guys think of The Big Boss Man being hanged? I thought it was a cool visual, but seeing how The Undertaker tried to commit attempted murder, I can see why the ending was cut from the DVD re-release of the PPV. I can only imagine how many of kids were traumatized by witnessing Boss Man's would be execution. This is arguably one of the best cases of McMahon pushing the envelope too far.

.

I didn't have a problem with the concept, and I've always believed that wrestling isn't proper programming for very young kids, especially during the Attitude Era. However, this didn't come off well. As you can see from the picture, the harness was very prominent. I remember watching it live and thinking: Good idea, bad execution--no pun intended.

Suzuki-Gun has all the GHC gold and there is not a damn thing Pro Wrestling NOAH can do about it.
SUZUKI-GUN ICHIBAN!

Cody Hall might have his dad's tights, mannierisms, and finisher, but damn does he hit this just as good as his dad used to.

That match with Sakuraba might've honest to God been the most interesting non-G1 match he's had in God knows how long. Really want to see the Marafuji match.

To be fair, Suzuki hasn't been booked in anything interesting during the last year and a half in NJPW, so it's not really his fault.

He'd been feuding with Toru Yano for pretty much the last year. YEAR... that's a ridiculous waste of his talent.

Guy I'm gonna go out on a limb here and I have no real evidence to back this up

But I think Nolan has a hard on for japense wrestling but with his history I'm not sure what to believe.

I think the team was Seattle State so I'm not surprised. Still, awesome to see.

That's oddly fitting, since it seems all the booking decisions made for Daniel Bryan seem to be made via a Plinko board.

I find it funny that on the house shows Reigns and Bryan had together this week, Bryan headlined and main event while Reigns was in midcard matches with Big Show......What does that tell you?

Not a questionable Hall of Fame inductee this year.

IMO, Connor the Crusher will be very emotional

POSITIONING OF DANIEL BRYAN AT THIS YEAR'S WRESTLEMANIA:

All I can say is when I wrestled Lex Luger in the Royal Rumble back in 1994 and I ended up getting the title a few months later, it was very similar to what is going on with Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan now but they went against what the fans wanted and I think that it may bite them on the ass because my logical thinking is you give the fans what they want or you should anyway. I don't know why they went against the grain, I think Daniel Bryan was a great champion and had his run was cut short and I think fans wanted to see him get that moment that he deserves. Even though he won the title and WrestleMania last year was such a big thing for him, the fans want to see him get his proper chance and I think the WWE put a line through that and I think that's probably a mistake.

COMPARISONS OF BRYAN/ROMAN REIGNS TO HART/KEVIN NASH IN 1994/95:

I always tried to bring the best out of all of my opponents and especially in a pay-per-view scenario, I wanted them to have their best match they ever had with me. When Kevin Nash was champion I really tried to support him, he was a good friend of mine back in those days and still a good friend of mine now. I tried to boost his position and help him stay in place and I always had respect for him even as champion, I thought he was a great champion. I think they made a big mistake in giving him a push too early, they should have waited and let him build himself up for another year and I think if they had given Kevin just a little more time to get more experience and get prepared for that role, if that next year he had gotten that big push that they gave him, he may have stayed champion but they sometimes push things they want now and it wasn't going to happen then, he was still learning a lot.

ROMAN REIGNS IN THE TOP SPOT:

I think Roman Reigns is ready and he is really good, I think he is a really great talent and has a lot of potential. I can see why they want to push him but I really think the hearts and minds of the wrestling fans are with Daniel Bryan. His work rate in the ring and what he gives through the match just means so much more to the wrestling fans than anything else.

RANDY SAVAGE GOING INTO THE HALL OF FAME:

Well I know we were a lot closer than Hogan was. I'm not quite sure why Hulk Hogan of all people is inducting him because my last conversations I had with Randy, he didn't have much good to say about Hogan. Regardless, it is a night to remember Randy for all the great contributions he made. He was undoubtedly one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, he was a great champion in the dressing room, he was a Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, a real team guy and always had a lot of respect and love with all of the wrestlers. We will always miss the Macho Man.

The 'E does not want to look stupid on television. Belee dat.

If they wanted to look REALLY smart, Ambrose would be headed for a match vs. Rollins at WrestleMania. But of course HIAC had to happen. :o

That would be a good main event for 2016's Wrestlemania, unless He-Man signs a WWE contract over the next 12 months.

Sting is in Des Moines, Iowa and will be appearing in person on tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw to continue the build against Triple H at Wrestlemania 31.

Has anyone posted the news of Larry Zbyszko yet?

Very cool. A name from the past whose true record of achievement has been somewhat obscured over time, and is mostly associated with another company, but a well deserved inductee.

Well the way I had it booked THIS year was Lesnar v Cena No DQ at Rumble, Rollins cashes in and curb stomps Brock, pins Cena for the title. Reigns and Ambrose eliminate each other ala '94 (I believe). So Shield Triple Threat + Brock = Fatal 4 Way.

I had Bryan come back in and eliminate Rusev from the Rumble itself, setting up a U.S. Title match for Mania. Bryan's practically a mini Hacksaw Jim Duggan anyway :hehe:
