My first time driving through the place. It's big with lots of hills and narrow ass streets! Its kind of expensive, but I think I'll manage.

Any places to check out? Touristy things? Cool, local spots? What do you guys suggest? Thanks in advance.

Good god, you actually moved into San Francisco? What are you, rich? Rent is like half the price if you move to a county across the bay and commute into the city using the BART train.

Slushy is the Scorpio killer.

I lived in the city for a year and it was way too expensive. I have since moved to walnut creek and its not as fast paced but getting more and more expensive as the city though.

If you are a film fan there is a really cool map on the internets that will show you a ton of filming locations from famous films. I took a day and walked a lot of it and was well worth my time.

I probably recommend all that Scott McKenzie says

I hate San Fran but go there a lot for work.

Fave places are toronado and magnolia.

For food, can't go wrong with in and out burger and hawaiian BBQ joints..

If you want a touristy restaurant, try the stinking rose, a garlic restaurant which is apparently a big thing there... It's also across the street from strip club row..

I've always wanted to visit San Francisco, but I've heard that it's the hipster city.

Worked in SF and lived in Alameda up until a week ago when we finally decided we don't need to put up with the Bay Area's ******** (Rent, inability to do wings/pizza/Chinese right, "hella").

Seriously though, unless you're making 6-figures, just reverse course. I'll be shocked if you get anything more than a 6-month lease where you're renting, and once that goes month-to-month, expect a rental increase of at least 5% everything 4-6 months. And when you finally decided you've had enough of that place, you'll pay your last month's rent at your old place as well as an overlapping prorated month's rent (and deposits) for 2 or 3 weeks at your new place.

We lived there for two years and felt like we never stopped moving.

HAHA, okay. I think that's with any major city now. and hipster chicks are hot!

LA's version of Brooklyn would be neighborhoods like Silver Lake, Loz Feliz, and Echo Park.

Visit the llobby at Lucasfilm at the Presidio as well as the Walt Disney Family Museum. There's a fortress going back to the civil war at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge. The Palace of Fine Arts is nice place to visit too. Also check out Ellis Island. There's a forest area behind the Presidio if you take the road you can see a gorgeous view of the bay in its natural beauty, there's no city there. There's the Mel's Drive In inspired by the movie American Graffiti it's the first one opened, you'll have to do a search for that one.
