I think the "big huge surpirse" in this whole movie is actually not Sandman being Ben's killer, or the huge anticipated "venom" showing up at the end to fight Spidey, or Harry's decision to join forces with Peter at the battle royal.........

But I really think the big surprise is that Harry will wear the entire Green Goblin suit at the end of the movie. I think he is leading all of us to believe that Harry is dressing up as a mortal kombat character throughout the movie , and the "new goblin" name.....But I actually think that the big secret is Harry is the next Green Goblin.

I mean, the secret is out, everyone knows Venom is in the movie...It's not going to be a big surprise.

But I really think after May 2007, everyone on this board will be talking about how cool James Franco was as Green Goblin.

It kind of reminds me of George Lucas and Attack of the Clones. Everyone went into the movie with anticipation about Anakin's dark side, but the big surprise turned out to be Yoda fighting at the end. And instead of where everyone was thinking Anakin would be the talk after you saw the movie, it turned out that everyone was talking about the character that was more of a secondary character that was always there, but just expanded character....kind of like Harry Osborne.

Just my two cents.

I tried to explain this to people like 3 months ago. When Peter and Harry have their first battle, Harry is injured so Pete takes him to the hospital. So does Pete just give him back the suit. It wouldn't make much sense would it. This makes me beleive that he will infact where the entire GG suit in the end.

I think Harry uses the first suit to throw off Peter and to throw off any people's connections that Harry could be the new Green Goblin.

But in the end, he turns to the good side and he uses the suit to show that he can use the good of his heart.

I like your theory. I think that if we don't see any Construction battle stuff in the 2nd trailer that Harry could indeed wear the old Goblin outfit. And to be a surprise, that's something that they can keep out of the novel to avoid spoiling it.

Why don't you want Sandy to be Uncle Ben's killer? Why don't you just accept the fact that Harry isn't the Green Goblin?

And what are talking about (Star Wars, Attack of the Clones)? I was checking spoilers every day at the time before AOTC came out and we all knew that Anakin wasn't going to the Dark Side at the end of Episode II but we knew for a long time (end 2001) that Yoda was going to fight someone, they even made a add commercial for this sequence.

Just put that in your mind: Spider-Man 3 is a story about revenge and redemption. In every Spidey films, the vilain is used to explain something to Peter, in the first one it was all about responsability, in the second one, sacrifice, and in the third one, forgive each other. Peter is going to forgive Sandy for killing his uncle, Harry is going to forgive Peter for his father's death, Mary Jane is going to forgive Peter because of his bad action with the black suit ("We've also done some terrible things to each other, but we have to forgive each other or everything we ever were will mean nothing.").

although it would be kool to see the original GG. it would have made more sense for him to wear it in the beggining of the movie when he's on his fathers side, whereas when he realises peter was right then he dons the MK suit so that when he's helping spiderman people dont see GG as a good guy, they see harrys character as the good guy

I think if he does wear the old gobby suit it would be iconic when he arrives -- I can imagine gettin chills up my neck when that happens. I'm not saying that I absolutley love the old suit, but just because it's from the past will make it very emotional . . . imagine it, spidey gettin the stuffin knocked outta him by sandy and venom and then he sees the goblin in the old guise and thinks he is gonna have to fight three bad dudes -- and then imagine the goosebumps when spidey realises that harry has come to help him. Emotional? You bet it will be!

Seriously, I dont like the old goblin suit, I see it to be a bit to cheasy (looks like a freaken evil Power-Ranger!). But I like the idea, so if Harry shows up in the end wearing the full old goblin gear, I'm all for it! If that happens I'll shed a tear, no bull****; that would be beautiful!

And Sandman not being Ben's killer has as much chance of happening as Peter wearing a pink tutu while swinging thru the city. People are just in denial over Sandman being Ben's killer. They'll still be in denial even after seeing it in the move.

Actually we have seen footage of him at the construction site, briefly. It's in the trailer.

We know it's from the construction site scene because MJ looks exactly like she does in the other shots from that scene, not to mention her hair is blowing(indicating that they're outside). Now, she's crying and holding someone's hand there, while looking at Peter. The hand is wearing a BLACK glove. It's Harry, either dead or dying. And he's not wearing the original GG costume.

It's not gonna happen, folks. Everyone threw a fit over the original GG costume, and Raimi listened. So he gave us something completely different. He's not going to put another actor in that suit again.
