I think its bad.I would like to see them in a movie together(Sandman,Venom,Green Goblin and whoever the hell the fourth villain is)
but I dont think Raimi can pull it off.Sandman should be the main villain,Harry should keep smoking goblin pot,Venom should wait for the fourth movie and the other guy should be a minor villain so Spidey can beat him up at the beggining of the movie.

please dont flame me

It could be very awesome,it's not like all four will get the same amount of screen time, and it's not like they will all team up.In the comics and cartoons spidey fight a bunch of villains in one episode,so why not in the movie.

I think its gonna do good, I have faith in Raimi.

Wow. You really started another thread about this. Amazing.

Think about this. One good fight with GG2. One good fight with Sandman. Then they team up and fight with each other. Then a huge battle royal at the end with Venom. Raimi will do just fine.

It will either turn our really really cool.
or
It will turn out somewhat like xmen, good but alittle disappointing.

I read somewhere that GG will team up with Spider-man and help him when he finds himself outnumbered with the other villains. Could just be a rumour though.

have to get in before the thread closes.

The Multi-villian concept usually isn't very good, but i have faith in Raimi and Arad and i think they can pull it off. I hope.

it can't possibly turn out like X3, no matter how hard they try.

it's the same director as the past 2 installments, there's not half as many characters as X3, and there's not a huge war taking place for like...half of the movie. and not everyone can die, as they all did in X3.

don't sweat it.

The only way I think he could pull it off would be to have one of the villans make a small appearance in the beginning and get thrown in jail or something. Then have Venom be a cliffhanger. So for the bulk of the movie have the focus be on two other villans (probably Sandman and GG2.) It's all speculation before and maybe when we find out the fourth villan we can make a better assumption.

I want to see at least 2 or 3 go against Spidey at one time. Not too many though...I don't want it to get to crazy or confusing.

That would be cool but Spidey had a tough time dealing with one GG and one Doc Ock. But a three on one would be killer.

It has nothing to do with the number. It's all about the story. If Sony & Sam are just throwing in the kitchen sink for the sake of excess, you'll get something that belongs down the disposal. If the story itself legitimately supports having 4 villains, then it's got a chance. See the XM movies as well as Superman 2(the best of the Donner Supes flicks)

That is why I want to see his skills evolve and be able to take on 2 or 3 bad guys. I think 2 at once would be better. Having 4 go at him at once might get a bit ridiculous. His skills are evolving and I think it is time he take on 2 or 3 baddies.

True, but Spidey had NO problem with GG or Doc once the killer instinct kicked in. Peter Parker is by his nature mild-mannered. He becomes dangerous when it's a kill-or-be-killed environment.

I could see him evolving and kick a couple butts at once. But something that just occured to me is that every time he struggles against a villan he is trying to save somebody (kid staring at balloon, MJ, MJ, MJ, MJ, Aunt May, MJ and MJ. I bet if he really had the time to focus, he could beat some tail.

I still don't understand why everyone is so reluctant to see who the 4th villain most likely is... Black Spiderman. Look at the casting, the set reports, and every rumor(substantiated or not)... there is nobody else.

Hi

To be fair, those threads aren't asking if the 4 villians concept is good or bad. They are speculating who the fourth villian could be and people's opinion on if X was the villian. Sure whether or not it is good has been mentioned BUT none of these threads are centred on the good or bad concept of it.

What are you getting at:confused:

Just that (almost) everybody is searching high and low to find a way to make sense of Avi's "4 villains" statement. Who will it be? How will they make it work? Avi Arad is a borderline senile old man(no offense Avi) who shoots off at the mouth on all of the movies and is either misleading or completely off the mark most of the time. When you look at the casting, unless they're going to have the Lizard(bad idea, because the story needs to be set up) or ManWolf(bad idea in so MANY ways), it pretty much has to be Black Spidey. I could be wrong. I just think that it is amazing that everyone is really reaching to establish a case for a fourth villain, while the answer may be the most obvious.
