Ideas for future fantasy and/or dream sequence eps

What would you like to see?

  • President Lex Luthor

  • The last hours on Krypton (TW plays Jor-El?)

  • Lionel finds baby Kal-El and Kents adopt Lex

  • Any ep involving Clark (AS Clark) flying

  • Lois' "nightmare" about the guy in a red cape

  • Other (please elaborate)

They should do a tragic episode where Krypton was never destroyed and Clark travels through space as a GL.

When memories of his real life resurface, he returns to Earth to find a very different world than he expected. Lana is happy and still innocent, Chloe and Pete are together and happy, Jonathan and Martha have adopted another child (a girl) and Jon is still alive, teenagers who died as Freaks of the Week are living happy lives, Lex is still a slacker (who isnt dangerous) living in Lionel's shadow...

It raises the question over whether the world would have been better off if Clark never arrived and if all the problems he has faced were a result of his presense on Earth.

kind of cliche, but I like that. 'the world without a superman' (everything cept the GL part, if krypton was never destroyed, he could travel there with his 'rents, no need to bring in a useless nod to a DC character. Infact, it could work well, as we know that Jor'el travelled earth as a rite of passage in his youth. And this alter universe Kal'el could see the world without a superman)

If Clark were to see a different outcome of his life it should give him something positive not negative.

That would just make him feel super depressed. I dont think I like that at all.

How bout we make it where in the series finale Clark dies of Kryptonite posioning at the hands of Lex and Superman ceases to exist.:o

Great idea for a thread !
I think President Lex has already been done twice in Hourglass and Scare (plus Lex has mentioned running for president on other episodes) so we can move on to other sequences.
Obviously the destruction of Krypton would be awesome though it's doubtful that it will ever happen. I would only like Tom to play Jor-El in this if they put make-up to age him because otherwise it wouldn't be credible as Jor-El would be much older then than he was in Relic.
Also a confrontation (or the sentence) between Jor-El and Zod would be great. I still say Gerard Christopher would make a great Zod.
The idea of having an episode showing what would happen if the roles were reversed and Clark was raised by Lionel and Lex by the Kents (we've already seen a bit of that on Lexmas) is a brilliant idea for an episode, or even if Krypton never exploded...
I would love to see a sequence or even just a shot symbolizing the death of Superman at the hands of Doomsday. Maybe just having a spiked hand punch the camera (symbolizing the punch that ended it all for Supes) or a helicopter shot showing a crowd of ppl gathered around Lois and Superman and maybe we could see the cape flying in the wind like in Superman IV...

Not really. It would give him more of a drive to correct the wrongs with the world. A responsibility, since he was tied to everything bad that happened (which is actually true).

He would look at this world as an ideal that he would fight to build from now on.

I think Clark really needs to understand the responsibility he has as a result of all the problems he created (without realizing of course).

You've painted a picture of a world that is wonderful without Clark. How could that give him any encouragement to do anything?

It would just make him think that everyone is better off without him. :whatever:

Either Clark flying or last hours of Krypton. If they use Krypton, please don't use the pink background from Memoria. It was the only thing I didn't like about that sequence.

Have you seen the JL episode "For the Man who had everything", that is the same type of story.

It's tragic yes and even if he did think the world could have been better if he never arrived, he can't change things now... only try to make the world a better place and undo some of the damage associated with his presense on Earth.

It would be fascinating to explore a world without him. Everything would have turned out VERY different when you think about it.

If Clark never came to Earth and Krypton were never destroyed , Brainiac and Zod's army would have been defeated, there would be no meteor freaks; so many people would have lived, John would likely be alive, Lana would have happiness in her life and not be such a psychological mess etc

It may have been the perfect world...

Yeah but in 'For the Man who Has Everything', the plant showed Clark his greatest desire. To just be a normal person. The only way he could be normal was to live on his home planet. He realized that he had to leave that dream world in order to save his friends.

Clark learning that everyone he loved would be better off never knowing him wouldn't inspire him to do anything.

Oh and in your future Lex would be dead because Clark wouldn't have been there to save him from the crash where the first met.

Didnt the death/ressurection story already happen in Season 5?

Well it was a death story but not like death storyline from the comics. Plus in the show Clark died because he was mortal while in the comics he died despite having his powers....

Lionel Luthor said:
That's true. Then again, Lex Luthor dead is another good thing. Think of all the lives that could have been saved if Lex never rose to power.

I think your scheme would work if Lex rose to power anyway, but with no clark in the world, it would end up being destroyed. This world without a superman would still be a serene and peaceful place. A veritable utopia. But at the end of the fantasy, the world would end. Clark would wake up from this terrible 'dream' and realize that he must stand between Lex and the world in order to save it.

Basically, make lex evil, in whatever universe he is in. In this new universe, Lex would be very evil (without ever having the influence of the kents in his life). He'd still have red hair and everything. Basically, he'd be the evil son, of the evil billionaire. He wouldn't care what happens to SV, b/c he has no ties there (those that were generated after hitting clark with his porcsh).

I really like the idea. Clark visiting earth on his kryptonian rite of passage, vissiting the caves and what not. Maybe having an affair with Lana, mirroring Jor'el's encounter with RelicLana etc.

good idea still

I'd like to see Brave New Metropolis from STAS done Smallville style although no black suit

like the what if: clark's original fears about jor'el were true, and he was sent here to conquer.

have they done a cliche: Clark is locked up in a mental institute, where he is deemed crazy, and all the shrinks are trying to convince him he is not an alien, nor does he have powers, kind of thing yet

or like the Justice League Graphic novel "Another Nail"

Johnathan discovers a nail in his old pickup trucks tire so he and martha don't go into town. They miss clark's ship landing and he winds up raised as an amish lol

although your idea sounds cool. A world ruled by Ka-el ofcourse once someone picks up a piece of kryptonite his rules over. I could imagine Lana being brought before king Kal-el and she stops his rule. Lex is leader of a resistance to kill Kal-el

perhaps kal-el came from an evil krypton that didn't blow up and conquering this "primative planet" is a rite of passage

The final hours of Krypton: and it won't be as expensive as some of you think.

Using the set of the Fortress, the producers can get some good scenes: use Tom Welling as Jor-El and have another actress playing Lara and someone playing Zod.

I think the biggest cost would be Krypton's explosion scene.

I'd like to see something along the lines of the Next Generation ep (can't remember the name) in which Picard "lives" an entire life via the memories transferred to him from some now-extinct race's time capsule. In the SV version, though, I'd skip the above explanation - it would just be an "if I were just a human who'd gotten adopted" dream/alternate reality. Let him fall in love with Lana, get her because her necklace didn't make him sick, perhaps have more interactions with Whitney/other classmates... Maybe have Chloe as part of a love triangle; not sure. At least let him get way into this alternate reality - and then have him wake up/have tragedy ensue/something interesting back in "real" SV.

That would be something worth watching. Get some different outfits for him - a nice long green tunic with black emblem on the chest, and a long black cape, perhaps?

I would like to see Clark dream about the future, this dream would be a vision of President Lex ordering Captain Marvel & Captain Atom to bring in Kal'El.

The WB, should do half a season with CK in a comma. While in this comma they can go to town with stories that would not normally fit in the Smallville formula.
Dream sequences out the wadzoo, which will equal into the stuff that Fanboys dream of.

Would-be-President Lex would need some opponents... The campaigning could go on for several episodes if not most of a season. Who might run against him? Who might back each contender? Who wouldn't be running but would be happily digging up dirt in the background and getting it to the front page (wherever)?

Forgive me if any of these have been killed off - I'm still on Season 3

Opposing Lex:
some other megalomaniac rich guy's son/daughter
Helen or another of Lex's exes - perhaps the one from "Heat" could return, with her powers renewed
Zod, in disguise (or at least under an assumed name, and pretending to be human)
Richard, from SR! Hahahahaha...
Ian (with the clone)
Nell's husband
Lana's biological dad
Lois?
some jock from Smallville High
someone from Lex's boarding school who knew him back then

Sneakily opposing Lex:
someone with powers who can make him/herself look like Lex - and make public appearances (drunk, womanizing, rampaging, racist, snotty, whatever) that detract from his actual campaigning... Can't use Tina, but there are plenty of other ways to do this; weave it in with whatever else happens in the campaign

Giving money to both sides (to play devil's advocate):
Lionel
Helen

Digging up dirt/reporting (either under their own or assumed names):
Perry, Chloe, Jimmy, Lois, maybe even Pete and Lana and Clark himself?
Lana's dad
disgruntled/former LutherCorp/LexCorp employees - Chloe's dad?
some new characters

The way I see it is to make it seem like everything's great, but some big threat that only Clark could stop comes in the way, showing him just exactly why he needs to be there, or maybe the 'happy' things in the alternate universe aren't all what they seem? That's how I'd see it anyways.

i would love to see clark find the matrial for his suit and also somethin kinda like the episode from justice leauge "the man who has everything" it showd supermans hopes and dreams he was dreaming that he was still on krypton like there was no planet distrion he had a kid and everything it was soooo cool!

The same thought crossed my mind when we were watching a Season 3 ep the other night. The camera panned across a big crowd, and something about the way the people in the scene were moving brought to mind our beloved "Drew Carey Show" musical numbers. When the SV folks didn't start their own number, we were disappointed. :csad: We're also big "That 70s Show" fans, and the dream sequences there (early episodes in particular), some of which I seem to remember involved singing, were often the funniest parts of the show.

Wish I could remember which SV ep it was.

remember spell...the dancing scene was one of the most funniest scene in smallville history..
just image getting a whole episode like that.

They are ALL really great ideas. I would love to see the "final hours of Krypton". I also feel that Tom Welling should view the events of Krypton's final hours rather than live it as Jor-El. I would love Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher (although she would never do it) to play Jor-El and Lara. We should also see Jor-El communicate with Brainiac at some point and then Brainiac downloading himself into the black ship. It they make it, this would make a great 150 episode.

^^^ I think Dean Cain could pull off the Martian Manhunter.

I really want to see Terance Stamp play Jor-el.
