IESB: Welling out of the running for JLA Superman

Where did you get that info from?

She mention one time about Routh being skinny & that her size can be enough to slap him hard. She has too much biased about Singer & Routh. Not to mention she once call Singer a "f--" (gay slur) when someone mention Singer is gay one time. She claim his sexuality is why he can't direct good action or movie or whatever. Sad she is a homophobic with that comment. That why I don't like her. She is rude & hateful. If she was like that here, she would be banned for good. And she also claim she was at Princeton when Singer was there for showing clips of SR & claim he was booed. Showtime said he wasn't & was praised instead.

She said that? What kind of statement is that? She really is more stupid than I ever thought she was...I've lost all respect for that "person" ... Not that I had much respect for her to begin with.

Somebody link me to the post where Jayne said Singer was booed. I don't recall seeing that stated, but I might have missed it.

Jayne said she met Singer with a bunch of other people. That could mean she spoke with him *after* his presentation. Who knows? But she apparently didn't get the best (first?) impression of him based on the encounter. It happens. As to her bias, tell me YOU guys *don't* have any bias and I'll laugh. Loudly. :ninja:

Not sure why she was saying Singer was booed at that presentation since there were first hand accounts from some members of film sites in attendence that said it went over well. Maybe she did mean after the fact he was booed seperately? I don't know.

There are reports from first hand accounts that Singer is arrogant and egotistical and reports of the opposite. Is it a suprise that fans are also split on this.

In regards to bias, we all have it, even ME! We can't help it no matter what we say.

That's not true. Jayne at CD is a SV/Welling fan. Sanchez on the other hand has made it clear on several occasions that Welling isn't his first choice; he's just reporting the news as he hears it. Here's what he said on the Krypton Fan podcast interview:

20:24

Krypton Fan: Lets take this from the top. Where did all this start? [news about TW being in JLA]

Robert Sanchez: Look, let me be very clear about something. This is not my first choice. I don't want people to think we're making [this up]. There's a couple of sites out there right now that are claiming that we're doing this just to build up traffic. That's not the way I work. We report it as we hear it.

Sanchez has however stated on his blog that he doesn't want a third Superman in the JL role. He would prefer that it either be Routh or Welling.

Sanchez was in fact a HUGE supporter of Superman Returns and it's sequel. Now that he is tapped into this JLA info, he seems to be swaying towards JLA. It is obvious he still wants a Superman Sequel though. The reason I tend to lean towards Rob's info, is because I know he is a fan of Returns.

Well, I was only talking about her supposed comment that "Singer cannot direct action because he's gay" as posted by Nightwing1977. So no, I don't have a bias against gay people, So I guess you can start LOLing now?As for the Singer being booed thing, I have no idea what happened or if someone who was there can comment on it.

Yikes. I wasn't refering to that either. :csad:

WB is notorious for keeping their branches seperated, case in point Dini and Timm. It would be against the norm for WB to take their lead actor from one of their succesful shows and move him over to television. Not saying it's not possible considering Smallville is on the downswing, but it would be unsual for WB to do this.
The only thing I can see, if the WB is doing this, and I am not saying they are or aren't, is trying to remedy all of the complaints they took flack for from SR. One of the biggest complaints, besides the suit, was them chosing Routh over Welling. I think they just made a list and said "Well let's fix all of this."

Could be, there is a faction of fans that want him in at all costs, although I don't think Welling was really in the running with Singer right?

Although I remember an article claiming that Singer wanted Welling but WB wanted him to cast an unknown?

I didn't see that comment, which is why I asked for somebody to link me to it.

Maybe she did mean after the fact he was booed separately? I don't know.
If she even said it at all.

There are reports from first hand accounts that Singer is arrogant and egotistical and reports of the opposite. Is it a suprise that fans are also split on this.
It wouldn't surprise me that he's both. Directors can be pretty hard-nosed.

In regards to bias, we all have it, even ME! We can't help it no matter what we say.
Thank you!

...So no, I don't have a bias against gay people, So I guess you can start LOLing now?
I wasn't talking about a bias against homosexuals. Jeezes folks!

I'm talking about a preference bias in your entertainment choices. How many people reading and posting to this thread can honestly say they don't give two hoots about MOS, JLA, or who is cast in the respective roles? Raise your hands?

*crickets*

THAT'S what I mean about being biased. When push comes to shove, we all have a preference, even if it's just a smidgen more than a secondary option.

As for the Singer being booed thing, I have no idea what happened or if someone who was there can comment on it.
All I've seen so far is he said she said with no evidence to corroborate she actually said it, never mind if it really happened. And just to be clear, I'm talking about the "booing" comment.

are people still talking about that nut job on CD who reports "inside info" that we either already know from 1000 other sites and stuff that can never be proven true or false.

All I remember at the time was he didn't want to play Superman in a movie since he was playing him on TV, and that was why he was trying to take on different roles, like the one in THE FOG. The Fog could have been a good role had they had a good director and writer who could write a horror script and not some damn love story thing. Maybe now he knows that Smallville is coming to an end, and he doesn't have much prospects when that does happen, and that he should jump on JLA and then use that as a springboard for other things. JLA, if it comes out succesful, could put him in a new star actor level in terms of studios wanting him for parts. The TV thing is not doing that, and I think he is finally realizing this. If I were him too, I would hire an acting coach and do the hardest thing for an actor to do with said acting coach-shakespear. He needs to take his acting as a viable means of work for his future. And doing a movie would give him time to do that. He should be doing it before hand.

Yes ma'am!! **smiles** I know you "yourself" were not talking about that. I was merely pointing out the CD girl's rather stupid comments (if she actually said that, I'm still going by what Nightwing posted, so who knows). It wasn't clear to me wheter you were defending her comments or not.

I believe he had a meeting with Ratner, and that report having to do with Singer wanting Welling and WB wanting an unknown was just smoke.

The Fog couldn't be good because yet again it was a half ass remake of what I consider good old fashioned horror. It's the movies he choses to be a part of, in my opinion.

As I have said before at the Mos boards, when Sanchez first broke the news about Welling being "out of the running" he seemed very distraught. He didn't know exactly what happened or how it happened but he knew Welling was out of the "race" and he (Rob) was more than upset about it. I'm not calling the guy a liar and I'm not telling you (or anyone) not to believe him.

Exactly, it's one thing to be biased (were all biased) it's another to make immature comments (like gay slurs). I understand that the girl is a biased SV/Welling fan but that doesn't justify her down right rude, immature, remarks.

She mention one time about Routh being skinny & that her size can be enough to slap him hard. She has too much biased about Singer & Routh. Other than her thinking Routh is too skinny I've never seen her say anything even remotely close to any of that stuff about gay slurs, etc. Got a link to that?

I also dont remember her saying that Singer got booed at Princeton, only that she met him with a group afterwards and thought he came off like an egomaniac.

As to her being biased, she's not Fox news, she doesnt need to be fair and balanced. Why cant she have sources and have an opinion on things? She's posting on a messageboard not running a news site.

he was distraught because he went on TV saying one thing and then had to make a posting saying the opposite.

then of course he was back on his message board 2 weeks later saying that Welling was still in talks.

Sanchez is a BIG TIME supporter of Singer and SR. Thats why people took this so seriously in the first place.

lol. Fox news doesn't have to be fair and balanced either, but they have to put "fair and balanced" on screen as much as possible to see if they can fool anyone into thinking they are.I hope they get this over with already, if casting is really finished then they're just torturing us...I guess that's payback from them for all the *****ing we do about them.

I may not agree that Jayne has all the inside info she claims too, it is all very vague when you really look at it. Her reputation for having news previously seems to have continued the motor running on some of her very recent vague reports. That being said, if you are going to call her out for racial slurs and making statements you have to back it up with a post or it means nothing at this point. Also, whether you agree with her or not, Jayne is a person. Let's not go overboard here and start calling her names and what not, I won't stand for that. Granted, I have been hard on her news and the legitimacy of it, but I don't see why the poster herself needs to be attacked.

Thats the only reason why I think they may want Welling as well.

To satisfy the very loud, obnoxious, and very obsessive SV and Welling fans.

You forgot to mention "outnumbered"

Reminds me of the 2004 election; all the buzz was "Kerry keryr kerry"; only person you ever heard, saw, or talked about was John Kerry

But who did the majority really want?

Routh > Welling

That is the publics opinion; they just aint as vocal as these Smallville folk :word:
