would you like it to be EXACTLY like the comics? Now, I understand that he was initially created as a parody of DC's Deathstroke but later evolved into a character that satirizes common comic book tropes and does not believe in the existence of the 4th wall.

So would you like it if the movie was essentially AIRPLANE! but for comic book films which dialogue like, "OOH!! LOOK AT ME! I'm all dark and brooding! I'm Bat... I mean Deadpool! That's what the audience wants!!" (parodying Warner Bros decision to make Superman darker) or "Time for a innapropriate jazz dance number" (THAT scene from Spider-Man 3)

Or do you think it would be a complete disaster?

EDIT:

I just found out that Deadpool will actually be in X-Men Origins: Wolverine but obviously he will be more Deathstroke and less Deadpool. I also know that the character is also quite violent but I wanted to only look at the more humorous aspects

It’s hard to tell what you mean by exactly like the comics, but I voted yes, because I would want it to be very similar to Joe Kelly’s DEADPOOL. He nailed Deadpool in a way that for me hasn’t been done before or since, even by Nicieza.

But I oppose your assessment (or what I think was your assessment, correct me if I'm wrong) that Deadpool to comics is like AIRPLANE! to movies. There are certainly spoof elements, but when done right, it’s much more than that.

We could have him commenting on Stan Lee cameos and comic-to-film costume translations.

It'd be like the comic. Mildly entertaining, but fundamentally lame.

I know that there is more to Deadpool than the comedy but you must admit that the comedy is what people find most memorable.

i just dont wan him to be seen on screen as a comedy superhero that would be lame

For a Deadpool film they'd probably play him off as the conflicted assassin who slowly changes and doesn't become a hero by the end but simply becomes less of a villain, an anti-hero at best.

In a film adaptation they'd probably be far more subtle with Deadpool's inside jokes, and fourth-wall breaking humor. I just have this image of Deadpool chasing a target through a comic book shop only to stop and browse some of the titles and comment on each one.

I actually have the image of him chasing a target running through a comic shop and seeing one of his own and commenting on it, maybe the art or writing. something like "I'd never say that or who the hell draws this s**t? That looks nothing like me" He has to nreak the fourth wall, and the movie can be violent and funny at the same time.

I think a Deadpool movie should have the goofiness level of Hudson Hawk, not more than that. It shouldn't turn into a spoof movie. At it's core it should be an action movie.

Of core but i do think it should make fun of comic book movies a little, maybe just the bad ones

honestly, his origins must be in Wolverine, and I think it will.
in his movie it'll be his adventures. Deadpool established, already.

I would like some parody moments. Plus who said Deadpool wouldn't crack jokes in "Wolverine"?

Casting ideas were Deadpool to get a spin-off after XO:W

Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool:

I was under the impression that he was conceived as a "dark Spider-Man"

in my opinion a Deadpool flick should be comparable to the first Robocop in terms of tone. it should be satirical and incredibly violent. but keep the satire more in the form of the situations and characters and less obvious than "hey, now's the part where i rescue the damsel" kind of schtick. and keep the breaks in the fourth wall, but keep it subtle

honestly, his origins must be in Wolverine, and I think it will.
in his movie it'll be his adventures. Deadpool established, already.

I disagree. It can, but it doesn't have to. Another way is to have Deadpool enter already as Deadpool and then explain his origins in full detail in the spin-off as a flashback/past scene before jumping forward to the future.

A Deadpool show would be awesome, but he NEEDS to break the fourth wall and be over the top ridiculous and violent. Its like that recent short story from Marvel Comics Presents where he's on the phone fighting ninjas.

Congo Jack, that is probably the perfect casting for Weasel ever.

Wonder how much time that took...
Results 1 - 18 of about 506,000 for ryan reynolds. (0.16 seconds)

Of course, that's not counting the time it took to host and then post the picture.

Deadpool has had awesome character development over the course of Cable and Deadpool. It would be a shame to not use any of that.

As far as further casting:

Weasel: Paulo Costanzo
Blind Al: Cloris Leachman (there is no one else)

with my only real introduction to deadpool being the new comic series i have to say i'd like it to be funny...like have him kind of aware he's in a movie but not so much that it stands out and distracts from the actual story or what not...

I actually want him to know that he is in a movie about a comic.

If the self awareness can't be done during the Movie, I'd love if they give us something like below during the credits.
