Superman is in an interesting place here. He's had one solo film that kicked off this new DCCU. The press release states that WB is planning another for him. But unlike the Batman film (that everyone assumes Affleck will direct) and the properties other than Justice League (which will need fresh creative teams) - the people who brought Superman to the screen are tied up through 2020.

So who directs the next Superman solo movie? Who writes it?

Another question that came to mind while thinking about this - is Snyder the Feige or Whedon of this universe? It was rumored that Snyder was designing the hell out of the DCCU (which would make sense now that he's set to direct 2 JL movies after BvS). He directed the first Superman solo film but he can't possibly have time to direct the next one (presuming it happens). But will he oversee it? Will he oversee all the DCCU solo films?

Going back to the shortlist they had last time, since Affleck will most likely be handling the Batman solo (hopefully), I would definitely like to see Duncan Jones or Ruben Fleischer on the Superman solo movie.

I'd be really curious about Jones too. It'll be great to see Warcraft and how that turns out. I know Source Code was an action thriller, but to see how Jones does a fantasy action adventure movie has me pretty excited.

George Lucas for Hal Jordan.

Starring Hayden Christensen as Hal Jordan.

Best idea you ever had Ror.
I could get behind Ewan Mcgregor as Hal Jordan, but he's a lot older than Ezra Miller

Considering the twitter exchanges with Snyder, his past history with the Superman franchise and that he won't direct Ep. VIII... JJ Abrams would be friggin' cool... :o

Brad Bird fo sho

Yep, I'd be super stoked with Brad Bird too. I do wonder though if he'd come into a project where the aesthetic and design is pretty much done. I also wonder how faithful another director would have to be to how MOS was shot.

I'm actually really curious to see how BvS is shot since it's the follow-up to MOS. I wonder if Snyder will move away from handheld style.

No. I don't want someone I like to play a character I don't like.

Besides by the sound of it he either will be Dr Strange or return as Obi-Wan in a spin off.

Have you seen GL TAS and GL First Flight yet?

Hal Jordan destroys John Stewart, he has the better villains and better stories.

Whoever directed maleficent get that person to do it.

Brad Bird
Matt Reeves
Duncan Jones

And Martian Manhunter destroys Cyborg. Things change.
Have you seen Green Lantern First Flight and Green Lantern TAS? Watch those before judging Hal so harshly.

John Stewart and Hal both have awesome animated appearances.

the best GL animated appearances imo
1. Green Lantern: First Flight
2. Green Lantern: TAS
3. Justice League TAS: In Blackest Night
4. Justice League TAS: Hearts and Minds
5. Superman TAS: In Brightest Day
6. Emerald Knights

in comics, Hal and John are less comparable, Hal's stories utterly destroy John Stewart's.

Cyborg actually makes perfect sense. They needed an African American member on the core team, and it wasn't going to be John Stewart, because he's in the shadow of a far more established character. Cyborg isn't in anyone's shadow. He's not anyone's supporting cast. He's nobody's sidekick. He stands on his own.

John Stewart does not stand on his own. His existence has strong ties to Hal Jordan, the first Earth GL (not including Alan Scott). And when Hal is left out of the GL universe, there's basically nothing left. Take John out of the GL universe and basically everything is intact.

They should've expanded the JL roster to 8 members, keeping Martian Manhunter. But they did make a smart move in using Cyborg to provide diversity instead of John Stewart, and I'm not mad about it.

The only downside is that his history with the Titans is taken away.

Sorry man. My 5 favorite DC characters are Bats, Supers, J'onn, Zatanna, and John Stewart. I've had Bats and Supers and if I can't get Zatanna or J'onn, I'm good with John.

My mind is made.

I've seen the first couple episodes of GLTAS and the Sinstro episode (though the Sinistro episode was bc Perlman was Sinistro's voice).

I just like John better.
