The Amazing Spider-Man if you could bring back ONE thing from the raimi movies

The costume: Nah. It can be done differently and better. Not that Raimi's suit had anything particularly wrong.

JJJ: No. Simmons was fantastic but if this is a reboot we need new actors.

The final swing: Well, only if necessary, but I can live with a different ending.

Spider-sense: Again, I hope it can be done differently.

Dylan Baker: Nothing extraordinary. No thanks.

Aunt May: Yes, the woman was good (can't remember the name) but new actors are required.

Bruce Campbell: Okay, this is very unpopular but I hated Campbell's forced interventions. Specially his awful Inspector Clouseau-like impression in 3.

My choice is not there: Nothing.

The costume was fantastic - so yes
The action was top notch so I hope Marc Webb can deliver action
Aunt May - Rosemary Harris was fantastic
Bruce Campbell - who would say no to that?
the final swing - yes
JJJ - 100% yes. Simmons was JJJ. He owned that role and imo was perfectly cast and perfectly embodies the character in the same league that RDJ embodies Tony Stark. Just perfect casting.

There were a lot of great things I hope come back or wouldn't mind seeing because I am not going to be all about change for the sake of change.

The fact the title character is called Peter Parker / Spider-Man, that's it.

I want no association whatsoever to the Raimi films, not J Jonah Jameson (give it up already there's a bunch of other actors suited for J Jonah Jameson and less cheesy too), forget Dylan Baker (never had any attachment to him at all).

None. Zilch.

bring back, Chocolate Cake Girl...

and lets not forget, :ikyn guy..

I had a hard time choosing between the final swing scenes and the costume, so I went two-face on it and made my choice: the costume! :2face:

Everything else from that poll doesn't really matter, since none of those were great. Baker wasn't bad as Connors, but really nothing great, I can't understand why fans keep crying about him. Move on, please. As for Campbell, 1 word: CHEESE! No thanks. Aunt May & JJJ can both be written better this time and their actors are also replaceable!

No way, she was absolutely POINTLESS and not even funny.

The first time people saw Simmons as JJJ, I guarantee nearly everyone thought he was perfectly cast. As people's hate for Raimi grew, so did their hate for everything Raimi, that means Simmons as well. Most people agree Iron Man 2 was a step down from Iron Man and if Iron Man 3 is a step down again, then people will jump on the I hate RDJ and Jon Favreu wagon and never want to see RDJ as Tony Stark again.

Totally agree with this except for Bruce, I actually kinda liked him. But yeah, nothing should be brought back directly. The suit was great and all but I don't want a copy of the past ones.

I will never understand the love for the final swing. It was just so meh for me. As for Bruce Campbell himself being cheesy, nah. The concept of the sequences may have been a little cheesy, but Capbell sold everything but 3's cameo with such a straight face. You can't call everything humourous in the Raimi films cheese.

I myself did. He was Jameson in the flesh.

As people's hate for Raimi grew, so did their hate for everything Raimi, that means Simmons as well.

Yes. Except that it was not a spontaneously generated hatred against him. As I saw that nothing but comic relief was attached to the character by the third movie it was nhecessary to give him more to do.

Still Simmons did wonders on screen with what he had.

I don't think this is about hating Simmons as it is to understand the concept of reboot. New actors are required that's all.

The only thing I'd take is the quality of the fight scenes from Spider-Man 2 and 3.

Absolutely. Sadly it's not in the poll. But the action is better than any action scene in any superhero movie.

I still think he was GREAT and I'm not jumping in any bandwagon. But there are people who can also pull JJJ off and you have to understand that!

But Simmons was great. If only the writers would have been that great and give him a proper, less cheesy and less cartoonish character, especially in SM3. Even though it was a writting problem, not JK's error, instead of bringing him back, I would definetly go for the cool costume or final swings if could because most of all, I am MORE interested in Spider-Man, instead of all these side characters such as Aunt May and JK Simmons. And R. Harris isn't the only one who can pull Aunt May either, there are enough old actresses there who are good and would do a great job if the character is written properly.

I actually would keep the way the city was colored. The Spider-Man world in the Raimi films was very colorful and the use of reflected lighting made the city seem more grand, and that is key to Spider-Man. NYC is his play ground. They should try and emulate the lighting.

Why fix what isn't broken? Is anybody really going to protest this movie if Simmons was brought back? I know they won't use him but whoever comes in next imo will have a hard time catching up to Simmons and I really doubt they match him...just like with whoever will be the next Iron Man.

It was the writers! Alvin Sargent did a terrible job with SM3. Which also baffles me that people blame Raimi for SM3 when he didn't even write the script but oh well...

I love Simmons as JJJ. It'd be great to see him again, but I don't see it. But, doing so has precedent. Judy Dench played "M" in the reboot of the Bond films. After playing the character in the Brosnan films.

I have never felt anyone in Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy was perfectly cast, so don't put words in my mouth J Jonah Jameson / JK Simmons supporters.

Uncle Ben and Aunt May were very well cast, that is what I will say.

That question should be addressed to the executives. They were the oines deciding for a reboot.

But IMO it was broken. Spiderman 3 was really way too bad.

Now Simmons was great but his character was one-dimentionally written. That can be fixed.

Is anybody really going to protest this movie if Simmons was brought back?

I don't know but if it's a reboot it's better to start fresh so no one say 'is this a sequel or what?'

I know they won't use him but whoever comes in next imo will have a hard time catching up to Simmons and I really doubt they match him...just like with whoever will be the next Iron Man.

Who knows actually.

Things work like that. No matter who wrote what on the paper, if you sign it you'll be made responsible.
