I wanna see Hulk talking and thinking like a kid, and in third person.

One thing that isn't a characteristic of the Hulk, but would sure get me excited is some Liv Tyler nude shots in the film.
But since that doesn' answer the question, nor is it possible in a movie like this, I'd have to say I'd want to see the Hulk take on a bear or a lion. I know that sounds cheesy, but ever since I saw the Grizzley Bear and the Thing confrontation in FF2, I can't stop thinking about what would happen if the Hulk actually fought a powerful Lion or Bear.
If that too is too much to ask, then just make the hulk talk. I'd like to hear more than the 'puny human' we heard the Hulk say in Ang Lee's Hulk.

I don't "need" it, but it would be cool to hear that eerie ringing sound effect from the old TV show during Banner's metamorphosis. Maybe the white eyes, too? Green would work too, just not as creepy-looking as those silvery-green white contacts.

One of the things that show did really well was the build up of tension leading up to Banner's transformation into the Hulk. The music got louder, faster, and more intense. Bill Bixby had mastered those Hulk-out scenes: getting wound up to the boiling point and then turning away from the camera at the last second - then the whip pan close-up cut to those white eyes and the ringing sound effect. It always sent a chill down my spine as a kid; leaving me scared and excited at the same time. I still feel that the very first transformation during the show's pilot episode is one of the coolest things ever. Love the show or hate it, I think that metamorphosis is extremely well-done. You can see the panic on Bixby's face and the terror as the power of the change washes over him. The scenes of his body 'growing' actually look pretty realistic, too. Especially for a 1977 TV show! This new movie should aim to duplicate that level of intensity and scariness.

It was also very cool when the show's audio technicians would pitch Bixby's voice down 1/4 during the Hulk-out to show us that the beast was taking over. It was done to very cool effect in several episodes. If they do some prosthetic work on Norton and pitch his voice during one or more of the Hulk-outs it will really add some great drama to the change.

What I don't need or want is anything from the terrible Ultimate Hulk CB series tied into this film. Sadly, it looks like they're trying to do that with the modified origin, if these leaked script spoilers we're reading here are for real. The Hulk is a hero, not some psycho-freaking cannibal killer. That is the absolute worst idea EVER.

We did see a glimpse of this in Ang Lee's HULK with the fighter jet heading toward the bridge. More of this type of action would be great. It shows that there is indeed a thought process and not just an out of control monster. That is what separates Hulk from Godzilla. That, and the fact that Hulk is not a giant, fire-breathing lizard.

In order to accomplish this he must talk, and not just "Hulk Smash!!!" he must communicate and carry on a conversation with other characters. His vocalization's will be childlike in their complexities, but complete enough to be understandable and important.
I'm not sure that this film is delivering this expectation though. As it seems from info gleened so far that they are going for a savage beast interpretation.

I understand completely what you're saying and I think this film might not be to your liking but this Hulk isn't just a raging monster bent on wanton destruction. He actually wants to be left alone and have nothing to do with the "puny humans". He lashes out in rage when he's attacked and he can cause damage but he mainly wants solitude.

Now the Abomination on the other hand.....that's a rampaging engine of destruction, wreaking havoc upon the hapless humanst:

There are a lot of Hulk incarnations...those that are just the mindless id of Banner, and those that actually can differentiate between friend and foe. This one seems to be more of the latter, but he can easily turn into your foe if you screw with him. Usually in the comics the Avengers or other heroes usually just informed him that some villain was screwing with him or a friend of his and just let him loose on them.

I'm also disappointed the 'no talking' news seems so acceptable to some here as that really is big deal breaker for me.

Seriously, a mute virtually mindless type of Hulk has been cited as an incarnation of the Hulk (which is true) as if that makes it ok for the films to follow suite but just how often has he been like that in the books?
A hand-full of issues at best but when it comes to putting the Hulk into live action that is the version we get every bloody time, and it's always a disappointment.

And I am not against the film makers putting their own spin on the myth but they are not even doing that when they are just re-hashing the form we have already seen in the TV Shows and Ang Lee's effort. If you insist on being unfaithful to the source, at least have the decency to try it in an original manner.

The Hulk talking is something no-one has seen properly yet in live action. Shame they wimped out again this time too.

Okay, but they have to really play up the sense of urgency or desperation too. In my ideal scenario, there's a dire need to save humankind, but the Hulk faces so much opposition that it nearly cripples him from doing the task. There's the major conflict or wrestling within, and then there's the external variables such as the Abomination that are, for all intents and purposes, insurmountable. It all needs to make for one big catastrophic situation, but in the end, the Hulk overcomes it all with a spectacular display of power that leaves us feeling as though the situation was never in doubt. He has to stand alone as the one person/thing suitable for the task, and there has to be a great sense of relief and peace/tranquility after everything has taken place. We should leave the theaters feeling strangely as though we just survived World War III and that the very environment in which we find ourselves has been saved because of Hulk's heroics.

If it promises all of that, I'll be coming out of my skin while I'm in the theater.
