If you Could make a live action Comicbook TVseries with a large enught budget to get the rights to almost any character. who whould you base the series on and how mutch whould be based directly on the comic?

I whould personaly try to make a new Bird Of Prey show. This time directly based of the comic, have the show centerd around Black Canary and Orcle and start the show off on Canarys first assigment.
have all of the missions be from the comics some directly taken from and som twisted to make them more ... realistic :P
and have the big seson1 finale to be when canary somes to help Orcle (taken directly from BOP#21)
And have a few flash back episodes her and there to show where they both come from in a way..

weel .. that my idea

what whould you do?

I would want to do an Ultimates show. or Runaways.

Ultimate Spider-Man... best show ever, guaranteed.

It'd be pretty analagous to the comic, though perhaps it's be about two comics to a single week's show. The first three eps would qualify as a DTV in that way. Get actual teenage actors (and a short skinny talented stunt double for in-costume) and make the show heavy on the complications of teen emotion (and their epic-sized reprocussions) and distill those fights into gritty jawdropping highlights... and with three episode villain arcs, you could use higher caliber actors, especially if the writting pops.

I would enjoy Runaways as well, but I would actually change the cast radically to fit with Modern TV genres instead of comic book genres. Yeah.

X-Men.:)
I'd make it like the comic(meaning extravagant and fantastical) and make the characters real. I wouldn't spend so much time explaining anyones power. I'd basically introduce what it is and that's about it unless it was a main point of a story.
It would be a mix of the comics, movies, TAS, and Evolution.

I've always wanted to write a screenplay or teleplay for the Thunderbolts.

The Punisher would be perfect as an HBO show.

Daredevil, if we're talking the noir-ish feel he's taken on since Miller got a hold of him, would work pretty well too.

I'd like to see a show done for Swamp Thing or Watchmen. Someone should at least turn Watchmen into a movie. I'd love to see Rorschach on the big screen or tv screen.

Hellblazer would be the obvious choice, although I'd love to tackle the Shadow.

However I'm already in the early stages of making a 6 part mini TV series for UK telivision anyways. But I would love to make a comic book one...

Nightwing. I would do the first arc,A Knight in Bludhaven. And it would be awsome.

Batman which will be based on Year One THL and the rest of those other TPB's

Aquaman

Martian Manhunter

Green Lantern

Captain America

Swamp Thing was done as a TV show already for USA network in the 90's (I think).

- Blade done properly
- Runaways
- Teen Titans based on the comic not that "Titans Go" abomination.
- Micronauts
- Sigil (I think that they were developing this as for a live action TV series a while ago but nothing ever came of it)

but the cast is one of the best things about Runaways!

any of Bryan K. Vaughan's series would be perfect for tv. Runaways would be an amazing Buffy-like teen show, Y The Last Man would definitely appeal to Lost fans and the like (though serialized dramas, as this one would surely be, have been in decline), and Ex Machina would be a great political drama, which could be even better if they got Aaron Sorkin on it.

apart from that, I'd love to see a series based on The Walking Dead and, though we have way too much procedurals already, Powers looks perfect for tv. an Invincible animated series would be pretty cool too.

going more mainstream, a Daredevil or Punisher series is definitely doable.

Catwoman for one. Could be based off the Brubaker, Cooke, Stewart run. A very noirish feel to it, a great supporting cast and a iconic heroine in the title role. If handled with care, this would be a great series.

Sandman: Mystery Theatre. I personally think something like this would fit better in the same vein as Batman The Animated Series. It fits in with the noirish feel of the show, a unique look and a deeply complex lead character. It would have the big romance thing that tv series seem to always have, between Wesley and Dian. And has the ability to tackle some more mature themes.

A title like Runaways would be sure to be a hit. Everyone has this thing for superheroes right now, teenage centered shows are seemingly a great audience getter, but are a dime a dozen. Runaways takes Smallville style premise, but pushes it so much more. You have a fantastic set of characters that would easily appeal to mainstream audiences, a great source to base the stories off and has the whole we can cast good looking actors thing down with ease. Runaways if any, screams out for a tv series.

What this dude said. Especially Y The Last Man, Ex Machina, and the Walking Dead. It'd make for great live action TV shows, but only on HBO, Showtime, or FX. Maybe Sci Fi too.

I'd also throw these in as animated series:

Firebreather
Major Bummer
Ultimate Spider-Man

Live action:

Quantum and Woody
Hero Squared
