If you could write/illustrate any Marvel title, what would it be?

Avengers Unlimited

Captain America
Hawkeye
Vision
Ms Marvel

The comic- anyone with an avengers card gets called to duty at anytime kind of like being on-call. Which makes the team ever changeing and it gives as reason for some odd or never been done before team-ups.

Writer(s)
Ed Brubaker
Robert Kirkman

Kind of like a MTU for Avengers.

kind of but they are prepicked byt the vision based on the Avenger and the threat so its not random like MTU.

I had the Idea of just splitting the Avengers in two so that you could have a place for all the former Avengers.

why would they live togather if they weren't on the team?

i'd like to write for any of the main X-men titles, there are so many great charcters and relationships that can be explored.

It would be the more offbeat type of hero/heroes such as The Defenders, The Thunderbolts or The Winter Guard(who should really get their own title!)

Terry

Well, personally, I think i'd like to write Iron Man; I'd like to expand on his power set thanks to the Extremus injection.
Maybe work more towards developing him as a man who does what it takes rather than what is necersarily the morally right thing to do; i.e. employing Titanium Man to push the registration act forward because he feels it's the right thing to do.

Isn't that what they're doing already? Iron Man's fallen way below the moral standard employed by other heroes over the course of Civil War and his Illuminati stuff. He's fast becoming an "ends justify the means" type of character.

I'd love to write Squadron Supreme (the real one) with someone like Tom Grummet or Mike McKone on art. Or I'd also like to write Uncanny X-Men with Jim Lee or Terry Dodson on art. I'd have a lot of fun with both of those.

It's what they are doing already, but I see what your saying.

I've never liked Grummet or McKone's art, it's kinda crappy.

McKone's art looks half finished and he needs a good inker, cause the guy he got now for FF ain't cutting it. Plus everything he draws looks lumpy and disjointed.

Grummet draws the worst faces in comics, his teens look like they all have double chins and his adults while slightly better still are displeasing to my eyes (especially his women.)

I'd take on X-Men (No adjective) and I'd give Marvel what they really need: A mutant equivalent to the Avengers. They're always raving about how much of an impact the mutant population has on the planet, all these events revolving around them and yet the mutant population has no all-mutant team that takes on the problems of the mutant community. The X-Men used to be that, but now they're pretty much random, teams split off all over the place, in essence they lack the anchoring effect that the Avengers have/had. As it is, the Avengers and now the New Avengers handle the major threats when all else fails, but it's usually threats to the general populace or planetary threats. Get the X-Men to deal with the problems inside the mutant society as only another mutant can.

Seeing that the government sees the mutant populace as more of threat and most of the time seems to welcome anything that threatens it or gives help grudgingly or forcibly i.e. O.N.E. Now as to the roster, they'd have to be the best of the best, after the whole 198 thing, we've lost quite a few, heh.

Ok, reading back what I wrote, it doesn't really explain what I want to do in that much depth. In my defense, I was on the phone at the time, so I had devided concentration :D :p lol, so here's my attempt at explaining what I mean in a slightly more detailed way:

Well so far, we've seen Tony pay Titanium Man off, and run a secret grouping behind the backs of the marvel universe at large... what i'd personally like to do is see how far he's willing to go, like at his darkest. Would he kill someone to stop them? Would he willingly sacrifice innocent victims if it meant catching the big fish?

I'd want to dive into his psychology; what makes a man who could easily help the hero community via funding want to jump into the field? Is it a genuine desire to help, or the need to feel superior to the people he surrounds himself with?

I'd also want to show the buisness side of Tony's world in more detail; how he reacts to willfully putting people out of work when he buys companies, or when he sells them...

But I wouldn't want to take the easy way out and blame Extremus... I mean, how is that fun? I mean, who willingly injects himself with something that could have proven near fatal and is also perfectly sane? I mean, the threat he was facing (Mallen), while beefed up to the max, didn't justify that sort of action; Tony could easily have asked for back up from anyone of his friends in the Marvel Pantheon of heroes... why thrust himself into a fight like that? Why choose to radically alter your own body chemistry and internal organs?

Personally, I'd like to explore his background psychology and look at past events in the MU and try to forge a link, a continuity that would explain why Tony takes these actions rather than just saying he's an arrogant S.O.B. with an addictive thrill seeking personality... he is, but why???

I know its not that original, but its just something i'd like to have a look at in more detail :)

Not bad, although I wouldn't want Tony to go as far as too sacrifice civilians.

OH! And while I remember, something i've long wanted was to see a Return of Captain Marvel mini. I know his death was one of the pinickle moments of Marvel in the 80's, and I really wouldn't want to be-little that, but i've always felt Marvel went out with a whimper, when he could have gone out with a bang.

I'm really not sure how i'd plot it or structure it, but i'd be so tempted to do a four issue mini that perhaps leads into something bigger, but not necersarily. Just something that gives the man a send off. It perhaps wouldn't even be in continuity... it's just something i've long wanted.

This is my take on the X-men from a previous post.

UNCANNY X-MEN

Cyclops - Headmaster/Teacher/Leader
Emma Frost - Teacher
Beast - Teacher/Tech support/Physician
Angel - Teacher/Financial Benefactor
Iceman - Teacher
Wolverine-Teacher/Head of security
Storm - Teacher/Counselor

Function/Mission:

*Flagship title Uncanny's mission is as 'teachers' and 'protectors' of the next generation of young mutants. They are a re-actionary force, not an strike force and primarily guardians and mentors for the up and coming X-men.

Xavier truly feels Cyclops is ready to take over the Academy, while he focuses on helping mutants who are unable to commit to Xavier's dream, but need his help and resources regardless.

Uncanny is now the defacto training ground for future X-men, only students who intend to become X-men and orphanded children are excepted into the Academy.

X-FACTOR

Professor X - Institute chairman/Financial Benefactor
Nightcrawler - Team Leader/Counselor
Kitty Pryde - Tech support/Team member
Colossus - Team member
Rogue - Team member
Gambit - Team member
Cannonball - Team member
Multipleman - Jamie now functions as staff for the compound.
Cecelia Reyes - Cecelia functions as Muir Island's head doctor.

Function/Mission:

*Xavier takes over Moira McTaggert's 'Muir Island compound' and converts it to a 'Research and Developement/Hospital/Rehabilitation/Rescue center' for those mutants who do not wish to become X-men and/or need help re-intergrating,re-locating,training(both educational and mutation control.)

Essentially Xavier comes to realize that there are mutants who are either young adults without direction, married or have children and can't join the fight, but still need support. It's a FEMA/RED CROSS for mutants.

X-Factor will be a pro-active team, who's mission is to assist those who need them most. So that mutants never have to live like Morlocks and without dignity.

Note: Auxillary characters such as Forge and Psylocke will appear and have a place among the titles, but only as cameos and when their skills and abilities have a purpose within context of the stories.

This is a clear cut-way to keep the X-titles distinct and set rosters consistent. Allowing under used characters a chance to shine if they are used in rare, but crucial moments.

Whimper? That's one of the best and most heart felt Marvel stories ever.

Writing:

Amazing Spider-Man
Ultimate Spider-Man
Iron Fist
Luke Cage
Iron Fist AND Luke Cage
Captain America
Iron Man
Hulk

...yeah, I'll stop there for now...

The "dream title" for me would be AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, although I'm not greedy and I would happily take any core SPIDER-MAN book that Marvel could spare. Heck, I wouldn't mind filling in on SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED.

My "format" for the book? Keeping Peter/Spider-Man married to MJ, and devoted to his Aunt, with Felicia/Black Cat being a reoccuring supporting member/ally for Spidey. I'd have Peter both stick to his teaching digs at Midtown High, AND continue snapping photos of Spider-battles for J.J. because, well, teachers don't earn a lot of money (especially "new" teachers like Peter would be), so an extra $200-$300 a week from photos wouldn't be something to sneer at, especially since he'd have to fight villians as Spider-Man anyway, why NOT stick with what always worked for quick bucks? Naturally, that'd mean J.J., Robbie, and occasionally Betty and Flash showing up, but I'd try to create some new supporting characters from Midtown High, like fellow teachers, assistant principals, dean, a security guard, etc. They'd all have different opinions of Peter, especially since he's an accomplished photog and the husband of model/actress Mary Jane Watson Parker, who'd still be the breadwinner. HOWEVER, as MJ would at this point be 26-27 years old (nearing that big 3-0), she would be aware that the world of modelling is a fickle one, and unless she got some more serious acting chops under her belt (besides B-movies) or became a better fashion businesswoman, her stardom could be short-lived.

As for villians, the name of the game would be to have one of them from the gallery amp him/herself up and inconviently launch some new scheme in the middle of Peter's ongoing soap opera.

What? This sounds familiar? Good...because things that ain't broke don't need fixin'.
