Would you enter a dangerous situation to stop someone from getting hurt?

I think that's exactly what it was too. I still stared until she stopped because there were tons of people in the parking lot and I'm pretty sure no one wanted to hear that. As someone with an Italian mother I know what someone blowing something out of proportion sounds like...

We all like to think we would step in and help but the reality is we don't know what our response will be in a dangerous situation. Fear and shock can overwhelm people quite easily resulting in them doing nothing. I've heard plenty of cases of people who could have helped someone in trouble, but did nothing because they became paralysed with fear. It is what it is, we're not all heroes and in all honesty it's ridiculous to think we'd automatically know what to do when something dangerous happens.

Hopefully, depending on what it is of course.

This is why when you are in trouble, yell "fire," not "help."
Yeah they taught us that in self defence, if you call "help" people will tend to ignore because they'll be like "oh well, it doesn't involve me so why should I care" but if you yell "fire" people will be more concerned. That's how f****d society has become.

most people who say they would probably wont in the situation ,bystander effect is very real

The best someone could do if they don't want to physically intervene, is at least just watch or listen to what is happening so that they can tell the police what happened

Know won't get as accurate results but curious. Also curious if anyone, like me, already has been tested and has acted in dangeroud situations that could easily be seen as life threatening.

Intervening against an armed criminal to save a human life is courageous. Intervening against an armed criminal to save property is dumb.

This post is exactly what I think.

the person in danger, how much do they owe me?

Put away your yellow nylon jacket and silver headband, that business model doesn't work in real life, trust me.

Depends on the situation. I've stepped in and prevented people from doing stupidly dangerous things before when it was a situation I could do something about. Other times I've been unable to do anything and someone did do something dangerous but was fortunate enough not to get seriously injured or killed.

One of these days though I'm sure I will be around a situation where dramatic action is required but I can't say what will happen when it does because while I'm willing to take some risk, I am not going to blindly jump into a dangerous situation and get myself killed.
