If you were the antichrist.....

Hey-Zeus would destroy your reptiles in a fist fight.

Well, in my opinion, the Zeus of Greek mythology and the Enlil of Sumerian mythology were the same person, an alien warlord bent on world domination. He was also the God of the Bible and he rules the planet to this day still. :o

Plenty of people who say Mary Magdeline was his wife.
Fictional characters, maybe.

Mary Magdeline is actually a composite of female characters, most of them prostitutes, who followed Jesus around. They got squished into one character during the many translations and abridgements.

In all realism, Jesus probably was married - at that point and time, a 33-year-old Jew who wasn't married was seen as a weirdo. He wouldn't have been listened to. The reason no wife is mentioned is simply this - she didn't matter to the storyline, and her life was not immediately relevent to the message Jesus was trying to send.

All the apostles were married - include Peter. Remember the story where Jesus saves Peter's mother-in-law? You can't have a mother in law if you're not married.

I'm disinclined to believe their will be an Antichrist. Why would God create such a thing?

According to the story, it's more the Devil who creates him. I think.

Well, then, that explains it.

I don't think it's possible for there to be an AntiChrist. The reason the Devil is not on par with God is because God can create whereas the Devil cannot. Satan was created by God, but he cannot himself create.

In movies, the Devil usually rapes a nun or a virgin in order to create the Anti-Christ.

I'm all about nurture over nature. If that nun/ex-virgin raised that child right, we'd have no problem on our hands. :D

This is an amusing conversation.

I love squishing prostitutes into one.

There have been documentaries on it. Not sayin I agree or disagree, just mentioning it.

Out of curiousity, do you have proof of this "being squished into one character"?

Reason I question Mary Magdeline is because of the variations of stories with her in it. Look at the story of the resurrection, she's in 2, kinda in 1, and definately not in the other.

Too many women named Mary is the problem.

That might have to do with the fact that the New Testament was written decades after the death of Christ. Who knows? The Bible is also very male-centered, due to the time period. Wish I could go back in time and find out for myself. :)

You're forgetting that the Anti-Christ would be genetically predisposed towards being evil, since the Devil would be his father. Damn those evil genes. ;) :p

I don't know if I really believe in the "Devil" per se . . . I feel that if "God" is an omnipotent being, as He is portrayed, there is no room for the Devil . . . everything in the universe, whether we perceive it evil, good, mediocre, is all part of one thing . . . GOD

Well, the Bible is recycled mythological bulls**t as far as I'm concerned, and my conception of "God" is as an Infinite Intelligence that created the Universe and it's physical and spiritual laws and allowed it to evolve on it's own and who has never contacted us and wants absolutely nothing to do with us.

^I don't know if I agree with that 'not have anything to do with us' part, but yeah . . . if we're all comprised of energy, or at least occupied with it, it's recycled back into the body of the universe . . . IMO

Originally Satan was written as a sort of avenging force, and eventually became associated with all the woes of mankind. But even before that,God was the one bullying people.:o

In the beginning, Satan was a good guy, a badass anti-hero, the rebel of the cosmos, and God was a total bastard, a bloodthirsty totalitarian dictator, banishing the human race from paradise, attempting to exterminate the human race with a great flood, telling us to mutilate our children's genitalia, telling us to go to war all of the time, but then Bendis intervened, ret-conned the whole continuity, and turned Satan into pure evil and God into absolute good. The end. ;)

That shifty Bendis and his continuity-altering powers.
