If you've done it, what age did you move out?

I spent the first two years of college at a dorm, then spent the last two back at the parents' place. Graduated, spent another year at home, got an apartment with a dude I knew from school, which lasted about a year and a half, went back with the parents for 6 months, then finally got a permanent residence at age 26. Finances were the main reason, but it was a lot of back and forth before I finally was technically out of the house.

I got a place with my girlfriend just before I turned 18, then 6 months later we moved in with her parents, and then we moved up here to Calgary. She left about 2 months later.

So basically, I moved out in October 2003.

Odd sitch for me. Moved out a week after I hit 18. Then my dad became my roomie three months later. Then I moved in with my friend and his folks, then with him and his wife, then with a completely different friend, and now currently me and the missus are sharing a place.

Moved out when i was 18. Went into the militay. Once i got out of service i got my own place. Once you get a taste of your own place, it's hard to go back to living at home with mom/dad.

Whoa,um,I think I was 18 or 19.
They essentially forced me out treating me like a kid,so I scrammed. I moved from couch to couch for a bit. Stayed at a friends for a bit then my moms,next my aunts. Hunkered down there for a bit until I got a place with my aunt,she got crazy,moved in with a boyfriend for about 4 years. On my own for a bit then a group house with about 6 other people. Back to my grandmothers. I bought a house and moved in there. Now I'm in a crappy apartment getting ready to shop for another money pit. Get it?

I don't know if moving to a dorm counts, but it's really far away from home, on the other side of the state. I'm on the coast of VA, near VA beach, and i'm moving to the mountians in...
Less than three weeks...I'm so excited. I can't away to get away from my psychotic brother. I'm gonna miss everyone but him.

19. My older brother moved back home and had absolutely no respect for the fact that I slept during the day because of my nightshift job. So I got fed up, found a place and moved out.

I was away for college for 2 1/2 years. Moved back home to finish up college. Finally moved out this year in August. I am 25.

I left at 16. As soon as I could run, I did. Sprung from being in a hospital for six months and having to do my own laundry, clean my own room and manage my own time. Going back to living under someone elses roof? No. Left, worked for two years, got married, got funding to start college.

Yes, I too left at 16 and I highly reccomend it.
I'd rather be homeless than ever spend more than one night at Mommy and Daddy's.

I didn't leave on my own. My wife [then only my girlfriend] rented a place together.

I moved out when I was 18, and have lived in like 8 different places since then all round England.
Now, at 24, Ive moved back in with my folks tho so that I can try and be self employed and do some writing..

AND ITS HELL!!!

They even complain if im not in bed at 10, saying im turning my nights into days.

Well, did the dorm for 3 years. Moved off campus with 2 buddies for the last bit of college. Went back home for 8 months and moved in with an old street buddy for about a 1 year. 'Shacked-up' with 2 different girlfriends which spanned about 4 years. And now I'm buying my own townhouse.

I moved out when I was 24,Me,my older brother and his girlfriend got a place,After a year when the lease was up I offically moved out on my own at 25...30 now and been loving it ever since.
