Ign clip on jigsaw

i cant remember but isnt he the guy who had franks family murdered? But anyway for a good jigsaw story find Batman vs. Punisher the john romita jr one not the azriel one.

not at all. jigsaw was just a random mobster when he first encountered the punisher, who gave him that horrible disfigurement and hence jigsaw wants revenge. also, frank's family was murdered in pretty much a random act of violence.

that batman/punisher story is pretty cool, i just didn't like how jigsaw got fixed up and then got all jigsaw-ed again, that was kinda silly. the ending when frank is about to kill the joker is awesome tho.

in the comics hes the son of howard saint right?

yeah he was like some pretty boy before the glass incident, I thought thats how they were going to follow up with the tomas jane movie because he was laying right next to a window.

howard saint was never in the comics. after the 04 punisher, it was rumored that saint's son would become jigsaw in the sequel.

Howard Saint was such a throw away character. I'm happy they stuck to more comic based villains, and didn't throw in lame bosses and henchmen or characters like Spacker Dave and Mr. Blimpy (or whatever the hell his name was). Even the Russian was wasted just to have him on film.

This looks the closest to the comics than any previous adoption. Jigsaw already looks cool.

The Russian was the best part of 04, IMO. But if they make a sequel to this, Barracuda will be one of the greatest villains on film if they do him justice.

The Russian fight and the end where Frank attacks Saints men were a couple of good parts in an otherwise "Meh" film. But the Russian really was wasted, they didn't even have the character talk!

Meh, I thought his silent role worked for the film. I can only imagine the horrors of Kevin Nash trying to deliver lines in a Russian accent.

That's not quite true. Although he didn't kill Frank's family, I'm pretty sure he was working for the crime family that did. When Frank lives, Jigsaw, who is actually an assassin, is sent to kill the guy who didn't kill Frank. This leads to his run in with the Punisher. At least, that's what I got from wikipedia!

Never trust wiki, it could be edited by some wack job who included a What-If story into general continuity. Look at the Marvel Handbooks description, that should be closer to the source.

hell to the yeah! Barracuda even after his gruesome death by the hands of the punisher was bar none one of the greatest punisher villains ever.

LOL they should get "50" to make an appearance in the sequel if they do go with barracuda, loved that character too.

does he really have a brother named loony bin jim who eats people?

No, I don't think so. I don't think Looney Bin Jim really eats people either. I'm assuming he just takes a couple bites. We see one in the red band trailer, I think. I don't believe he's going to be chowing down on people throughout.

In the 2005 video game he's the son of Howard Saint. That game's supposed to be SORT OF a sequel to the 2004 movie.

Oh wow, do we seriously still have people coming on the forums asking that question?

I'm starting to wish that video game came with a disclaimer.

The only bad thing about that clip is Gale Ann Hurds face. I cringe every time i see her.

yeah looked like he was eating someones intestines in the trailer, apparently from wests interview hed rather rip his victims apart than use guns

All the clips shown of this movie so far have been very good. West and Stevenson look like there playing there parts right.

well im sorry for sounding like such a n00b, but ive always loved the punisher but never bothered to pick up his comics. Not untill like a couple of years ago when i started reading his marvel max titles, and i missed the recent jigsaw storyline, the one that started off with the cover that looked like a chucky movie poster (the covers were cool as hell but the art inside sucked)

Nah, in Hensleigh's script for the sequel, it was still Billy Russo.

anyways, the clips that have been coming out recently look cool. They're changing my mind and i intend to see this. I still have some reservations about it, like Russo being thrown into a glass crunching machine and becoming Jigsaw that way. I would have preferred they play on his good looks and screw his face up that way, like in the Hensleigh draft(he gets beaten in the face with a large mirror). My other reservation is the fighting. From some clips, it seems the fighting is really stylized, very choreographed. And the script had something about those people who can run up walls and crap, like in Casino Royale and Live Free or Die Hard. I hate them!:cmad:

But if i'm willing to let go of the squid in Watchmen, i'll get over this too.

That may still happend with this movie. In the orginal script from last year Jigsaw before the accident was called billy the beaut (or something like that) and I'm pretty sure the interviews for had back that concept about jigsaw.

Parkour? Well, don't worry. I bet they get theirs.

yea, im aware of that. "The Beaut" comes from the comics. What i meant was, i would have preferred that they destroy his face in an ironic way. Like with a mirror: his face is disfigured by an object that reflects his vanity. In this movie, he's just dropped into a bottle crusher. A fight scene in a building with a bottle crusher=you already know that someone is gonna get messed up. I guess it's kind of predictable, especially if you're familiar with the characters and such.

oh, i know they will. In Casino Royale, the one guy gets shot and then blown up, and in Die Hard, he falls into a grinder. I can only imagine that the ones in War Zone will meet a grisly end as well. Regardless though, they annoy me, and i can't really explain why. They just do.:cmad:

Ok...you guys win. This looks pretty good. It's nice to see them actually throw in an actual Punisher villain.

Even back in summer 07, I knew Dom would nail Jigsaw. Thank god he got the role and not Paddy Considine.

After I read the comics, I'm so glad he didn't get any lines in the movie.

....and let us not forget Hate-Monger!:woot:
