Lionsgate confirmed to IGN this afternoon that Lexi Alexander is still very much directing Punisher: War Zone, which should put online rumors of her departure to rest... for the moment.

Not the best film in the world but it was worthy of the title.

Yes that is very true.Studios are very like that,Sony told Sam Raimi not to say anything about Venom and WB told Nolen not to mention Scarecrow or Two-Face.

I think we knew that those were trolls/haters/nerds lol!I didn't blieve none of the rumor and others didn't blieve either.But great find though,I hope that the people who did blieve the liesw would click on the link

What mess?If she did messed up yeah they can fix it in post.But I don't think that she did,look like she did a good job to me

well there is no accounting for taste is there? I guess yellow and purple lights and stabbing people with lobsters is what makes a great movie, then you'll love it. I just think some people on here have their expectations set way to high for this movie and/or are so big of a Punisher fan that they will accept anything LGF throws at them.

I still didn't see any lobters on the table and it's always good to watch the film first before you can condammed it.Plus to honest other two didn't raised the bar too high,so this film has a better chance.I will surport this film and if it's not good.Then I would say it could been better,just like I did with the 04 film.

Here's a better question than "is the director still attached": Where is the hype for this? It's October 6th, and the most we've gotten in theaters is a green band teaser that came and went. The red band was released, but only online. This comes out in December. If they already have a cut of this to submit to the MPAA, then why haven't we heard of a trailer being attached to an upcoming film?

We'll probably know this month how good or ****ty it is. I'm basing this off the fact the 2004 film had reviews popping up online about 2 months before release.

Then again Lionsgate could just end up dumping it like Midnight Meat Train, which is currently available for free on FEARnet on demand. It's like they don't want to make any money off of that movie. It's kinda ****ed up.

I don't forsee Marvel letting them do that. Still, it's absolutely boggling that they've yet to really market this with what's basically two months between now and the release. I don't know if it's in-studio politics or if it's just taken them a long time to secure a cut, but even the latter's not much of an excuse when you consider how much deleted footage can end up in a trailer.

Yep. But they don't have the budget to start a huge marketing campaign so early. Plus, it's going to be hard to market while Bond 22 is out and roaring. If I were them, a new trailer to be put in theatres late October/early November, and then start the TV spots late November.

Right, just like Gale Anne Hurd cleaned up Ed Norton's "mess." Or how LGF edited the poorly received first PWZ teaser, they are now the saviors of cinema.

To the OP, the movie was already filmed. Saying Lexi Alexander "is still the director" means absolutely nothing. I do believe they tried to kick her off post production, but that she has since been brought back.

I also think that's why it took Steve Gainer (or anybody involved with the film) a while to publicly claim that Lexi was still involved with the editing process - because she hadn't always been.

The first trailer wasn't poorly received. Complaints were about his armor, the spinning on the chandelier, and to a certain extent, the lighting. All those things still exist, but the movie is much more anticipated after the red band trailer, as Lexi Alexander predicted. They didn't edit anything, they just released a trailer with a bunch of violence in it.

Plus, TiH was a good movie.

The Norton thing, he wanted more character development/more talking in the movie. And that was basically the 2003 version, lots of character not enough "HULK SMASH" that the fans wanted and everyone knows how the 2003 film did. They did not want a repeat.

I'm used to it LOL! We have a strange friendship here.I'm pro PWZ, Grundy and Kable are con.But they are willing to give the film a chance and check it out at the theater,which is good thing.Plus I like going back and forward with them it's fun LoL!You will get used to it too
