Definitely off... Also, it's an asian thing. And I'm asian.

Off. No reason to keep them on.

F***. I misread the question. Yes, I take my shoes off when I'm home. There's no point in having them on, and brown people don't roll like that!

lol you're brown too?

well it seems then that the poll so far would be completely all for shoes off. both you and blackman too probably meant to vote for yes.

shoes off, you have to be a real psychopath to keep your shoes on in the comfort of your own home.

I usually wear slippers or sandals around the house.

people wear their shoes in the house? must be an american thing. gross. the same shoes you wear on the streets? with all the dirt on the soles? in your own home? how dirty are your floors that you would do that? and having your feet in shoes all day, don't they sweat? so you actually have to clean your floors daily AND get sweaty feet? inpractical and gross
also: misread the poll question, voted accidently no

Isn't it, like, common sense to take you shoes off? I'm from Canada, and I've always been told that Americans keep their shoes on.

All that dirt, mud, chemicals, and s*** that you walk in throughout the day gets tracked all on the carpet/wood. I had a roommate who just could not understand why I hated when he and other people would wear shoes inside our apartment. I had to plead with him to make just the bathroom off-limits for shoes. I couldn't believe that I seriously had to buy house slippers to walk around in my own apartment. His white socks would be dirty as s*** when he would walk around. And then he had the nerve to actually walk around barefooted.

Disgusting.

:down

Other than running in the house real quick because you forgot your keys or something, what is the justification that one has for wearing their shoes in the house? I can't wait for the "it's my house and my rules" reply.

The poll should have "on" and "off" as options vs. "yes" and "no"

I like to walk around in my bare feet as much as possible, so as soon as I get home, it's off with the shoes and socks!

Mostly I keep my shoes on. We used to have a dog so we had no concern about keeping our floors clean (since they were already dirty from the dog). Plus me feet get cold when I take them off.

Yes, I know I'm in the minority...

True. I used to think it was an Asian thing only, but all Canadians do it apparently. Don Cherry himself complains that Americans keep their shoes on inside.

Most Americans take off their shoes in the house, the only question is whether it is done right after entering the door. If they have stairs they may take them off before going up them to the rest of the house, but some may take them off after going up the stairs and sitting on the couch first.

I hate shoes. I love being barefoot unless it's freezing. I can't sleep with socks on. In the summer I love sandals but mostly to drive barefoot.

But I usually remove my shoes when I enter my house.

I keep them off to keep the floors clean and my feet are always warm anyway. Keeping shoes on is uncomfortable for me.
