In The Multiverse Of Madness Spoiler Discussion Thread

Reading reviews saying the Illuminati was very underwhelming, that they deserved better.

One said it was like watching Iron Man 3’s Mandarin turning into Trevor all over again.

Dammit! :argh:

Haven’t read spoilers. Just two things I need to know before I see it in one week:
Are Wundagore Mountain and Chton in it?
The 4chan leak refers to Chton mentioned as the source of the Darkhold

Hmm, that sounds very disappointing.

Just saw it.

The best part of the Illuminati was
watching them die. What a bunch of smug *******s, and honestly Krasinski as Reed looks like Cosplay.
NOT as bad as Trevor Slattery but this was more of "show the audience shiny objects " than actual fan service. The 5 minutes of Luke in Mando season 2 was better and No Way Home is many many times better.

@Batmanerism
is Wundagore and Chton really mentioned in the movie?

wtf is all I can say.
What were they thinking, including such a slap in the face for loyal fans, who wait 10min for the post credit scene…

Could you tell me anything about Rintrah's role in the film?
Thank you.

I blame Ant-Man and the Wasp.
But hasn't the MCU done this for a while? 1 serious, teasing mid credit scene and then a jokey one at the very end. I feel like this has been going on for a minute now. At least Phase 3

Homecoming's end-credit scene with Cap at least was a bit funny, if not eventually meme-worthy with Cap talking about patience. Kind of like the end credits scene of Deadpool 1, it at least felt self-aware. But the ant playing the drum left me going "I waited for that?" Even putting aside the eeriness of it occurring in the aftermath of the snap.

question about the last fight spoilers
so if what I read is right Wanda kills herself and that’s the end of her in the MCU or will their still be plans for her later on ?

Hard to answer this question definitively. It kinda seems like it. But they can easily retcon that down the line and with variants and other shenanigans I don’t think the door is completely shut. Things are a bit ambiguous but that’s probably on purpose.

For me, the disappointing part was how Black Bolt and Mr. Fantastic were beaten in 10 seconds combined. Maybe they are saving them for future films, unlike the two captains who are both done in 616 reality.

Also, I wish they just included Namor instead of Maria Xpecially Namor is appearing in Wakanda Forever later this year. Aside from Mr. Fantastic (don't know if they will keep the actor), the other four aren't guaranteed to appear anytime soon, maybe the Professor in 2025 for the X-Men reboot but thats huge if. Unless they revisit that reality or do flashbacks, I don't know where else would Peggy and Maria appear in. Who knows if Inhumans will ever get a feature film or when will be their next appearance be?

yup. Wanda takes Wong to Wundagore where the Darkhold is written on the walls, apparently by Chthon, don't actually see him though

Yeah...
he's kind of a glorified extra. He has a couple of lines but not said to anyone in general , he fights to protect Kamar Taj from Wanda and gets blasted along with the rest of the students, and Wanda briefly tortures him and some others to get Wong to tell her some secrets .

Honestly, he's just there for appearances. Sorry mate.

Bummer, this breaks my heart. I really was hoping he had a significant role. We we see him use that lamp at all?

Regarding Xavier & Reed

Xavier and Reed biting the dust is sure to piss off a lot of fans and I honestly do not blame them. This is the first major appearance of a Fantastic 4 and X-Men character in the MCU and to hear that they die is extremely disappointing
