When she wooped Logans ass in that lab, she left and went to her house. When we see her, she is in a red outfit. Dou you guys think she "moleculated" like she did in the comics?" Because I know if I'm evil I won't be like "I gonna kill........hmmmm......I wonder what I should wear."

She stopped by "Banana Republic" in her undies on her way home.

It's possible. It certainly would be within her capabilities. Then again her outfit is something she could have picked up while on the way home from Westchester, we really don't know what happened on the way, what sort of entanglements she could have gotten herself into.

I doubt though her outfit was something her parents kept around the house, although it could have been a halloween costume or some strange wardrobe she or her sister had lying around. You know, dressing up as the Scarlet Witch for a masquerade party, haha.

It seems though in X3 that Jean's choice of outfits, colors, hairstyles and the sudden change of her hair color was more of a subconcious thing whether than a clear decision. For reasons unknown to her, she suddenly became obsessed with the color red, with fire, and with fiery birds.

And yes it's interesting what her journey home would have looked like. Must have been quite a sight seeing a woman walking home to Annandale-on-Hudson in a tanktop and underwear. Funny also how even though she was unconcious since they found her and spent the whole time dozing off on an exam table, her teamates made sure she was wearing canvas shoes so she wouldn't have to go rampaging barefoot.

Mabe it's a deleted scene.

 She only had one outfit of her own that she wore the entire movie...and that was the red dress. (She already had on the X-uniform).

I ALWAYS think of her flinging away cars and stuff, lol.

No no I meant it seems unlikely that she would have found her Phoenix outfit hanging in a closet at home, unless it was some sort of ensemble she grabbed together from random pieces because they were all red or it was some kind of halloween costume :) So either she helped herself to it from a Gap store or theatre costume shop, or she made it herself.

A good deleted scene would be to show what happens when Jean managed to get to the main floor of the mansion. Everyone still thought she was dead. Having her run into some students like Marie, Kitty, Jubilee would be VERY interesting!

The thing about flinging cars and going on a rampage seems unlikely. If she was causing such a path of destruction on her way home, then by the time Xavier arrived that whole neighborhood would probably have been surrounded by 300 police cars, tanks, military helicopters, howitzers, etc. you get the idea. I think the writers (at least Claremont in the novel) is trying to show us that she was more in control of herself that people give her credit. She didn't lash out or destroy things unless she felt directly attacked or threatened.

All she has to do is change her entire outfit into anything she wants. si it is possible that she has seen that outfit before.

I fotgot to add the part where Xaver knows that their is a riot outside or something. My bad.

Yeah you're right. She probably just looked at herself and realized that underwear and a tanktop just will not do, so she just materialized it around her.

Haha, yes. Had she caused a riot I'm sure the rest of the team would have been REALLY freaking out at that point

Yes. These are gerat ideas.....

If only the movie was this good.

We can only dream, huh?

But it doesn't have to be just wishful thinking. There are some really great fan-writers out there. So far they posted some excellent X3 alternatives that have really put Penn and Kinberg's script to shame.

I'm actually going to use that scene of Jean's escape from the mansion and running into students in my X3 rewrite fanfic Just not sure yet what I want to happen.

When it comes to things such as what outfit a character is wearing, writers will often not go to the extent of describing where it came from unless it has some sort of significance to the storyline.

Actually, Jean/Phoenix wore in total, 4 different outfits throughout the course of the movie. First her X-men Uniform. Then, the Medical Lab garb (black tank top, black pants, pumps), then at her home she was wearing a Red Knitted Jumper over a Red top, tight red jeans and brown boots. Then we finally see her in her "Phoenix" attire, ie: Brown boots, red pants, flowing red coat & corset.

That's true. Jean's red outfits simply "were". The only thing significant about her outfits was that they were all red. Even the piping on her X uniform was red.

The piping was also red on her X2 uniform.

Oh it was? OK never mind then, so the uniform wasn't affected by her death and rebirth the way her hair was.

But she did have a fascination with red and the phoenix. Her pendant during the museum trip was of a Phoenix, and her long black coat at a phoenix design embossed on the inside.

What was the piping color on her X1 uniform? green?

X1 uniform piping was green.

I wouldn't go too far in-depth with the Phoenix motifs left around X2, such as the pendant and the design on her coat. The costume designer said this was done purely as a nod to fans who would notice it, not on some deep character level.

Gotcha. That makes sense. I couldn't digest the idea that Jean secretly became obsessed with the concept of the Phoenix anyways

Your half right because I was talking about of HER choice. She was already wearing the X-uniform fbecause thats what she "died" in. Then I don't know who or how she got on that top and short pants. But I forgot when she was at her house, that wasn't the same red outfit as at Alcatraz.

Who really cares how and where Jean got those clothes from??? That would be like having Jack Bauer sit down and eat or use the bathroom in 24.

?????What are u talking about?

uh I need help writing how Jean changes the molecules around her and voila, she's wearing clothes.

im talking about how can you explain how she manipulates the molecules around her ... in terms of her clothes...like when she goes from green/yellow to red/yellow......

Jean telekinetically rearranges the molecules of her clothing. As Magneto said in the movie, thought becomes reality. She thinks it, it happens.

And there is no such word as 'moleculate'. It's a bogus and ghastly as 'demolecularise.'

Um...what if she's naked? -sighs-

okay so...say she's naked....and she thinks she needs to wear clothes...so when she thinks that, it happens just like that? how can u explain that in more detail?

Thats what they used in the comic, so thats what I'm going by seeing as how people who haven't heard of it won't know what I'm talking about.

For some reason, telekinesis can do that.:o

No doubt she could create clothing by pulling fibres/molecules from other fabrics nearby (curtains, upholstery, other clothing) or even non-fabric materials around her, perhaps? It must be easier to use similar materials.

In the X3 novelisation she turns a rock into wood, so her manipulation can be very fine!

There's a scene in the comics where naked Magneto pulls on his costume (made of a very fine iron chainmail) and i could imagine Jean pulling fibres from a wardrobe of clothes or curtains.

In my story... she's found unconcious, naked by her...grave...by a certain someone when he shows up, he takes her to the infirmary, dresses her with the black tank top/short shorts, watches over her, later she wakes up and makes out with so and so... then Xaiver and the x-men (Logan is not with them) burst into the infirmary and xaiver warns him about Jean/Phoenix that she could still be a potential threat. emotionally confused, Jean rises above them, says what she needs to say and bursts through the roof of the mansion and becomes Free... and she flies off into the distance and lands a few yards away where Logan is. He sees the fiery explosion behind the woods and he runs to it and finds Jean standing... naked, surrounded by flames...
