I'll be posting a chart after the film comes out showing what "incredible hulk" fans thought about the "over marketing" of this movie. I thought this would be a great idea (with all the comments and clips being released) to showcase this idea on the boards.

Let me know what you guys about it think:yay:

It's only overmarketing when you don't plan on making a profit. Every summer movie is marketed as it should be due to their budgets.

It depends on what you mean by "over marketed"? Does that mean MORE people would have seen it if it was marketed less? Is that kind of over marketing even possible?

Or do you just mean that they're spending more on marketing than what that marketing will bring them. In that case I wouldn't worry about it because these decisions are made by all sorts of statisticians with all sorts of mathematical-median-standard-deviation-modal calculations to hit the sweet spot.

Please. The best stuff you still have to pay to see.

This is especially funny seeing as how about a month ago, people were complaining that there was no promotion for this film. :funny:

It flew under the radar for a while, but it's since been built nicely to the point where TIH is getting a lot of awareness and attention. Friday the 13th is going to be sweet. :bh:

Wow. This thread is the very definition of irony.

Nope. Not overmarketed at all.

man, three months ago, everyone was worried that there was not enough Hulk promotion going on. now, the marketing is just fine.

^Seriously, I think the marketing was late if anything. But it's just fine now.

Ha ha ha ha. I love this thread. A month ago people were whining about it not being marketed enough, now we have a thread whining about it being over-marketed. Pure GOLD.

I dont even recognize the poster, is he a regular? Was he here 4 months ago when there was nothing?

I do feel that they've given away the basic plot, but I'm still excited as hell to see this thing and the promotion is only making me more excited. So I guess the marketing's working.

Dude im not complaining about the over marketing. Im starting a chart about the idea. i myself think that the marketing is fine.

P.S.

You should read what i put sown at first........

it's a dumb move on marvels part i think(or whomever is in charge of promotion)

first nothing then 10 different spots giving away what can't be that think a plot
all at the same time (i almost seen three in 1 hr)

works better when you spread the love over a few months i think

Hey, this marketing strategy worked wonders for Iron Man. Now if the reviews are as generous for Hulk then Marvel will really have something going. From then on when people see Marvel Studios they'd be thinking quality entertainment.

Marketing is really hitting us over the head, and that is much needed to wash out the bad taste of the 2003 film, especially for non fanboys.

Yup,reviews have been positive for the most part, despite some expected complaints.

Wow. It was only a matter of time. Didn't we even say, back in the days of, "Marvel doesn't know what they're doing, they're going to lose all their money because there is no marketing" that when the marketing picks up, we'll get a, "The Official Marvel is Over-Saturating the Market with Hulk Thread"?

Good times.

Let's all merge onto the highway going 37 miles per hour, leave our blinker on and stay in the far left lane.

QFT

To be honest, seeing clips from an upcoming movie never spoils it for me.

I always find that watching a clip on a small computer monitor is no match for seeing it up on the big screen.

It's just the last two weeks, that I have really been seeing any type of serious promotion for this movie. The Sci-Fi channel is doing Hulk Week (Lou Ferringo/Bill Bixby) which is so cool, since I was going to purchase seaon one of The Hulk.Don't have to now...:ikyn

Name one movie that spreads out it's general public marketing over a few months, I'll wait. Don't use viral campaigns or anything like that as an example, I'm talking the general public campaign we're seeing now, TV spots, outdoor ads, internet ads (actual ads, not a web site or set reports on sites). Every movie uses the same strategy, the Hulk is no different. I don't know why comic fanboys can't understand this, it's the same with every comic movie that comes out.
