Yeah the original Terminator sounds dated because of the music while T2 doesn't.

I like synthesized scores depending on what movie. For example if it's The Breakfest Club (or any Brat Pack movie) it's fine b/c it was just the times.

But I don't like a synthesized score in movies like...Blade Runner. People might get mad at me, but I still think that it was the weakest part of the film (and I love Blade Runner).

blade runner =
great flick, terrible score

Agree with Agentsands77 - the Vangelis score for Blade Runner is one of the movie's cornerstones.

They even made a game based on the Vangelis score for the ZX spectrum when they couldnt get the rights for the film! Bizzare but true!.

But does that make T1 a terrible film? Alien is very dated compared to Aliens but is widely regarded as the superior film read my comments on ferris bueller and ghostbusters above, a dated score or special effects doesnt make an inferior movie imo.
No, I just was saying that score is very important.

I hope we get a trailer with SB.

New Iron Man & Indy IV Trailers in one night= PWNage

Cheaper maybe, but beneficial, no way. A Super Bowl commercial would get more publicity, attention, hype, etc than any Paramount syndicated entertainment show. Not that a Indy movie needs a ton of pub, but we're all waiting ...:woot:

Yeah this is Indy. We've heard for years about a 4th one, its been almost 20 years since the last one, the fanbase is probably twice the size. I just saw the trailer for Spiderwick.... I'll be watching the Indy trailer online.

I am surprised they are going just the online and tv route for the trailer.

Is it gonna be attached to anything big that weekend in the theatres?

Why did they wait until Feb. They could have released it with Cloverfield and Rambo for that certain generic and male audience respectively.

What comes out on the 15th of Feb?

its out w/Spiderwick Chronicles

I still say a Super Bowl commercial gets the machine rolling way more than anything else, especially the Spiderwick Chronicles. Might not be necessary, but let the biggest viewing event be the stage for the trailer.

I haven't been keeping up with this movie, so sorry for the stupid question.

Does this movie deal with aliens?

What Movie Trailers You Gon' See During the Super Bowl?
Here's your list...
By: Brad Brevet | Thursday, December 20, 2007
Last year this wasn't even a topic as most studios pretty much avoided spending the high cost to advertise during the Super Bowl, but this year there are at least eight movie promos are planned to air during the broadcast at a record $2.7 million-$3 million per 30-second spot.

Ridiculous? Yup.

Effective? I'm really not sure and I am not sure anyone really knows.

The films that will be previewed during Super Bowl XLII, airing February 3rd on Fox from Phoenix, Arizona will include Paramount and Marvel's Iron Man, Sony's Hancock and the Adam Sandler comedy You Don't Mess With the Zohan and New Line's Will Ferrell comedy Semi-Pro, which is said to be a collaboration with Budweiser in which Ferrell will appear in character during the Bud spot.

Disney will most likely feature a trailer, but they are apparently debating between previewing the Pixar flick WALL-E or The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

The other three studios currently slated to show a trailer are Universal Pictures, Warner Bros. and Fox, but which films they are not disclosing... Gotta assume at least Incredible Hulk and The Dark Knight, but as for Fox I guess we could take a guess at saying the trailer will be Wolverine as it is expected to begin shooting in three weeks. Whether or not it will be trailer ready by February is unknown.

The last bit of marketing material you can plan on seeing will be Paramount's Drillbit Taylor plastered all over the pre and post-game shows. If I remember correctly they did something like that with Norbit last year and I was incredibly annoying. I guess football is the last thing people worry about on Super Bowl Sunday anymore anyway.

Last year there was only two trailers, Meet the Robinsons and Pride. Hardly summer blockbusters. Paramount is doing the best thing by showing off Iron Man and Drillbit Taylor at the Super Bowl and using the Star Trek teaser for Cloverfield and the Indy trailer for Spiderwick.

I just picked up the February issue of Vanity Fair, and saw the photo of Cate Blanchett as Agent Spalko for the first time.

I'm very excited about the film, especially with them taking it in a different direction with setting it in the 50s and Indy fighting Commies instead of Nazis in the 30s and a Femme Fatale as the main antagonist, which I think will be a refreshing continuance after Belloq, Mola Ram and Walter Donovan.

I mean I was already pumped, following that Comic-Con promo with Karen Allen popping in, but my anticipation has been magnified ten-fold.

I get that some people are skeptical about the film since Indy has been off of screens for 19 years, but I'm certainly not.

true-
but it was confirmed that the super bowl ads sucked and was admitted... theyre trying to pump it up this yr. im not expecting a batman or indy trailer or star trek... but i am expecting something bog

wow... seriously?!

where'd this info come from?
It's been reported from numerous other sources (especially CHUD) that have been reliable on pretty much every other point (they even named Shia's character before the name was officially released), and as more details are released, more things demonstrate how right the reports were. Furthermore, I have a source of my own that has proved reliable so far and trust.

Furthermore, there's been one thing consistent with the scripts since they tried writing Indy in 1995, and that is alien participation in one form or another. Darabont's draft had to do with aliens (called "gods," since they were perceived as that by the ancient races), and Lucas says the current film features the same MacGuffin as Darabont. It also fits with Lucas' comments that the MacGuffin fits much better now that they're evoking 50s B-films, which is pretty much a confirmation.

I'm a little behind the times on the news here but I just saw the cast notes with both previous leading ladies from 1 and 2 are in this one. That is gonna make for some interesting lines ....
