George Lucas on Indiana Jones 4

MTV caught up with George Lucas who says that Indiana Jones 4 will prize dialogue over decibels.

"I think Tom Cruise proved that people are getting bored with that kind of stuff," Lucas said when asked about the action. "What they want to see is something different. And 'Indiana Jones,' if nothing else, is always different."

He says the script is finally done and the film will "probably" start shooting next year.

"We're working on it, we're working on it," Lucas added. "We've been working on it for 10 years. I think it'll be a great film, but it's completely different. It's still got a lot of action, and it's still very funny. I think it works

The delay was because George wasn't satisfied with the script so they wanted to take some time to punch it up, so he added some fart jokes and Tarzan howls and now it's set to go.

This movie needs to die. Why are we ressurrecting a franchise that ended on such a brilliantly high note? And 20 years after the fact? I am not interested in seeing Grandpa Indiana Jones on the big screen...that just taints my view of Indy...much like Hayden tainted my view of Vader.

No, there is a very vital and important point here. Even if you hate everything that Lucus had done, it is HIS world. He created the Star Wars universe...every villian, hero, planet, ship. The same is true for IJ. He could add in dancing monkeys and psycho clowns and you still can't say anything because it is HIS universe.

Besides, feeling that he "ruined" the prequels is just a matter of opinion. Sure he may have not chosen the right actors but I thought the prequels were amazing.
