Harrison Ford is definitely still in shape for the job. It carries the name 'Indiana Jones' and it's a Spielberg film. Children will be amazed by the special effects and action sequences- hell it may even be their introduction to Indiana Jones. Teens and older will love the film for the classic Indiana Jones adventure.

When I was a kid, I didn't even think about how old an actor is.You just want to see a movie that looks "cool" and "fun", and Indiana Jones is best known for being an off the hook rollercoaster ride icon.

I refuse to get hyped for this. All I expect from it is disappointment :csad:

Too long between this and Last Crusade I still say.

Though this should be big with kids, also.

If that's because of Phantom Menace...

It's Spielberg directing, dude- not Lucas.

Besides, it's been many years because they wanted to perfect a screenplay. Some of which are online to read. The Area 51 one is pretty good, just seemed too "out there" and not Indy.

I love Spielberg, but he is not the same man that helped to craft the original Indy movies. Lucas isn't either. I just am not confident that they can go back and get that magic they had for the original three films.

It has just been far too long.

First post by the LucasFilm/Paramount promotional team. :woot:

It's about time Adventure returns.

We've already had enough imitations with Lara Croft, The Mummy, and that Ben guy.

Ben guy? Haven't really been keeping up with the adventure genre anyhow... I think this movie will be good... but defintely not up to par with the original three

Well, Indy himself is as much a composite of different characters as any of the others, it's just he is based on heroes that Lucas and Spielberg grew up watching, so most of today's viewers will have no idea who they are.

Also, the Indiana Jones series developed many of the cliches that the other action films utilize.

Before Indy, there really weren't many action cliches.

No. I don't work for Lucasfilm, but I know those who use that tactic of sarcasm usually have no means to back up their own arguments, so guess that means I won this one.

I know, I was only joking. Indiana Jones is based off of Allen Quartermain and Harry Steele. Temple of Doom is pretty much a remake of Gunga Din:oldrazz:

Hey guys. I'll be leaving the Hype! temporarily as I go on vacation for a week (first vacation in five years). Hunter rider, you'll have to keep an eye out for any news since I won't be able to.

;)

You know what plagues me on a constant, daily basis? The fact that I wasn't paying attention back when I bought my Indiana Jones trilogy DVDs, and I accidentally grabbed the fullscreen version. Man oh man, I've finally had enough, next time I get money, I'll be trading in mine and picking up a widescreen. Perhaps then I'll be able to sleep at night.

Ouch, dude. I've done that with a few movies (Hulk and Field of Dreams comes to mind) but never with a boxed set. That would irk me too.:(

Huh? Howabout getting the widescreen version and buying a Plasma. :)

Six Indiana Jones Movie Titles Registered with the MPAA

indytitleshr4.jpg

One of our scoopers just sent us the latest Motion Pictures Association of America Title Registration Report. Lucasfilm, Ltd has filed for six different titles for Indiana Jones 4. The proposed titles include:

* Indiana Jones and the City of Gods
* Indiana Jones and the Destroyer of Worlds
* Indiana Jones and the Fourth Corner of the Earth
* Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
* Indiana Jones and the Lost City of Gold
* Indiana Jones and the Quest for the Covenant

City of Gods has been long rumored to be the working title of the production. It also seems to be the best candidate of the bunch Destroyer of Worlds, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Fourth Corner of the Earth are way to corny for me. But hey, George Lucas was the same guy who named a movie Attack of the Clones and The Phantom Menace, so you never know.

It’s also worth noting that Paramount TV registered “Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Death” in 1983. I wonder what they were planning?

According to the MPAA title report, the titles listed will be clear for registrants’ use by the close of business day Aug 24, 2007 if no protests have been lodged against them. I’ve never seen a report like this before, and find the process interesting. For example: Columbia Pictures is protesting Disney’s John Carter Of Mars title on the basis of their upcoming release John Hancock. Most of the entries on the protested titles section are like this. Usually one word in the title is the same of another project. Makes me wonder if any of these people win these seemingly unfounded title protests.

City of Gods seems the best title IMO but we have heard the Crystal Skulls are gonna be involved.

Temple of Death and Quest for the Covenant are redundant.
Destroyer of Worlds sounds like they're preparing for Unicron or Galactus.
Four Corners of the Earth is too close to At World's End.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull sounds to 80's-ish.
Lost City of Gold? Nah...
I like City of the Gods.

Another tactic people use is trying to end arguments prematurely by saying, "You did this, that means I won, end of discussion." ;)

i think that "city of gods" title is FAKE! i mean, think about it: Indy has been after the Ark of the Covenant AND the Holy Grail (4 the record, Temple of Doom was a PREQUEL! therfore, the "Indian sacred stones" don't nessisairly count). WHY would HE, a GOD-BELIEVING GUY would go after a place that worships MORE THAN ONE GOD?! I'll just wait until the trailer comes out in November 2 see what this title REALLY is...

all this title debate is strange....has no on thought of just calling it Indiana Jones:huh: cause there hasn't actualy been one called that:oldrazz: plus that whole Raiders thing pisses me off...
