I think TDK will do great at the BO this coming weekend, but i think 300 million domestically in one weekend is a bit too high. Sadly, i'm not feeling any hype cause the movie doesnt come out in my country until august  which SUCKS :cmad:

I do hope that by the end of 2008 Indy 4 and TDK take the top honors, just cause those are among the few movies i've been looking forward to this year :woot:

Wait. In one weekend. Thought he was talking about overall. Gosh, no way in one weekend.

A fanboy is just as needed as a radioactive mutant cockroach laying eggs while being up your...well, you get the point.

The "Destroyer of Worlds," George Lucas returns as he wants to do a new direction with Indiana Jones. All I have to say is that, he better have some non-stereotypical villains and base it around Atlantis.

Indiana Jones 5 - Looking for a Direction
28/07/08, 8:35am EST

Talking about Indiana Jones 5 and where to go next, Indy co-creator George Lucas had this to say to Times Online:

Lucas is also considering what to do about the fifth instalment in the Indiana Jones franchise, which he has produced from the outset. The most recent film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, has taken almost $750m (£375m) at the international box office, and the whip-snapping archeologist remains in high demand, even though his own days as a whippersnapper are behind him (Harrison Ford is two years older than Lucas).

"We were hoping for box-office figures like that, which is, ultimately, with inflation, what the others have done, within 10%," Lucas explains. "So, we squeaked up there. Really, though, it was a challenge getting the story together and getting everybody to agree on it. Indiana Jones only becomes complicated when you have another two people saying ‘I want it this way’ and ‘I want it that way’, whereas, when I first did Jones, I just said, ‘We’ll do it this way’ — and that was much easier. But now I have to accommodate everybody, because they are all big, successful guys, too, so it’s a little hard on a practical level."

"If I can come up with another idea that they like, we’ll do another. Really, with the last one, Steven wasn’t that enthusiastic. I was trying to persuade him. But now Steve is more amenable to doing another one. Yet we still have the issues about the direction we’d like to take. I’m in the future; Steven’s in the past. He’s trying to drag it back to the way they were, I’m trying to push it to a whole different place. So, still we have a sort of tension. This recent one came out of that. It’s kind of a hybrid of our own two ideas, so we’ll see where we are able to take the next one."

So the door is open for an Indy 5 we will just have to see what walks in!

Check out the full article at Times Online as George Lucas also talks about his upcoming Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Red Tails.

And thanks to Grayson Van Leeuwen for the article link.

Oh Jesus. No more. Let it rest in peace, Lucas. You have enough money as it is. Same with you, Spielberg.

I knew Spielberg couldn't have been happy with that crap of a film... I mean Indy IV was basically another Lost World... this franchise needs to die hard... as much as a like Shia and as good an addition as he was to the franchise (then again not really)... SHia can't carry Indy... and Ford grows more stale by the minute as far as his acting goes (I hate to say it but it's true)... Ford is done... Lucas is done... and if Spielberg continues with this crap he'll be on that level soon enough. These movies need to stop and stop now.

I thought we knew about this? *Ponders* Oh well, will just have to see how Shia can hanndle his own film. I personally wouldn't mind seeing Mutt go on his own adventure, it would be kind of neat.

I want to see one last Indy flick. I mean the original plan was to have five Indy flicks. They should stick to that.

I wouldn't mind another Indy flick, but they have to do it fast considering Ford is getting up there in years. And Lucas needs to let the writers and Spielberg have more control on this one. I really enjoyed Indy IV, but I know it could have been better if Lucas didn't mettle with the story.

One last Indy, Die Hard & Rambo please.

As Darth Vader would say "noooooooooooooooo"

I feel the opposite, if I could actually erase the last movie of each above franchise I would.

There was absolutely NO NEED to have a fourth installment of any the above movies. Its all about $$$$ at the end of the day, and not trying to entertain us with decent movies to enhance the original trilogy's.(Rambo and Die Hard are hardly exceptional trilogy's to start with, really they both sould have stopped after the first movie)

Indy 4 was the last straw for me regarding the bearded ones, I can't handle anymore Lucus c**p, as for Speilberg, Indy's last outing rates only slightly better than the god awful bottom of a barrel of s**t "War of the Worlds". Someone has lost his game, and not just recently.

Please no more...........

i'd love another indy movie since i personally thought this one was awesome:up:

but it would have to be indy, not "mutt's adventures in trying to kinda do what his dad done". i'd pay to see another indiana jones no matter how old ford is aslong as it is ford and it is indy.

If they do another, and it is better than KOTCS (which i liked), i'd be all for it, but Spielberg is write in wanting to take it back to the originals, no more aliens or sci-fi in an Indy movie please.

QFT :woot:

I personally didnt have an issue with how they presented the alien twist, so whatever they do (if they do another one) i'm open for, as long as Harrison is there as Indy :cwink:

I cant wait for the DVD :D

How the **** in Lucas the Future....and Spielberg is the past. He is a pompous fool. I did love Indy 4...but all the faults are Lucas'. That fatass should just let Speilberg take over the franchise

where did you here this?
I work in a video store. Our computer listed it as October 14th. The computer's pretty reliable, because we had the Iron Man date (9/30) for about two weeks before it was officially announced.
