Games: Warner Bros Announces New DC Character Fighting Game
If you haven't had your fix of superhero video games then you're in luck. Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have just announced a new title they're creating Injustice: Gods Among Us. Creating the title will be NeatherRealm Studios who created the remake of Mortal Kombat last year will be making the game

Yahoo had the scoop on the game, "Injustice: Gods Among Us debuts as a bold new fighting game franchise that introduces a deep, original story featuring a large cast of favorite DC Comics icons such as Batman, Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and many others. Set in a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred, players will experience heroes and villains engaging in epic battles on a massive scale."

Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment said, "“With Injustice: Gods Among Us, we are creating an all-new franchise with incredible battles set in the DC Comics Universe. NetherRealm Studios is the extremely talented team behind the latest Mortal Kombat hit and it is developing a game unlike any other in the fighting genre.”

grodd 's more of a manipulator any way. And has others do the work for him before he does anything him self. The latter being he has to be forced into that position.

Which is kind of why I don't think he fits this game and style.

Similar to why the Riddler wouldn't work.

The villains i want the most are Joker and Catwoman (I know not batman characters but anyways) and Deathstroke.
Circe would be ok too

I really dont want Joker. He would just be another version of Harley Quinn. I would not mind if he just stars in the game but a non playable character.

Maybe Grodd could be like goro. A non playable character as well.

I'm pretty sure both would play differently. I mean Harley was gonna be DLC in MKvsDC before Midway went bankrupt. So they must have a different moveset for her.

Honestly, I think almost everyone could work. Not that I would approve of everyone, but with a little imagination and effort, you can turn everyone into a playable character.

Do they have the character selection voice in Injustice? Like in mortal kombat? I can just imagine them saying ZATANNA! CATWOMAN! BLACK CANARY! DEATHSTROKE! GREEN LANTERN! AQUAMAN!

Actually, we still really haven't had a pure Tank class character yet. Bane or Doomsday would work, preferably Doomsday IMO so we don't have too many Batman villains.

Grundy's abilities, while many include brute strength, he's move set kinda leans towards him being undead combined with a lot of grappling. We can still see a significantly different Tank class character.

Now, I will admit, there is a lot of diversity in Batman villains. So diversity isn't the problem with Batman villains. The problem is this isn't a Batman game, it's a DC Universe game, we need characters all across the board. But I wouldn't be surprised if we get a couple Batman villains as DLC. Like Scarecrow, Killer Croc, Bane or Clayface.

I think it's be weird for Joker not to show up, even with Harley in. Harley's moves are more Cartoony, like a Looney toons character. While Jokers moves are more traditional.

I'd like to see more stand alone heroes and villains. As I've said before, Lobo and Swamp Thing would be brilliant in this game. But their odds are kinda iffy due to the possibility that there could be clone characters or too many Batman villains. I would love to see Clayface in simply because of how unique his ability is and how he would feel in game. But I'm not gonna demand him because I know there are more deserving characters out there besides Batman villains.

Why doesn't Grundy count as pure tank?

I'd love for Doomsday to be in, if nothing for the simple fact of being able to have Superman uppercut him into space with his super.

Doomsday would seem to work as a boss character that can be unlocked once you beat him or something......

I think Grundy is considered a pure tank.
Also Doomsday will definitely appear. He is already shown in the back drop of fortress of solitude.

Maybe in the DCU he is a pure tank, but as I said, a lot of his specials revolve around him being a zombie. Using his stink, a tombstone, undead Minions, and knives from his back. He isn't simply an up close and personal fighter. He may be a tank most of the time but in terms of this particular fighting game, his moves aren't particularly tank-like aside from being a grappler.

how can anyone not want the freakin Joker in this game?! its the Joker! :p

Maybe the "moveset" is not actually of a tank, but his gameplay is (referring Grundy)

Oh okays. So I guess we can still have Doomsday, Darkseid or Bane.

Because I never picture him as a fighter that can actually hold his own. Yes, as I said in my previous post, everyone can be turned into a fighter, but that doesn't mean I approve. He's normally the guy who gets taken out with one punch by Batman. Harley is a more suitable fighter than he'll ever be.

Darkseid has a lot is powers too. A pure tank would be a large character who fight using pretty much nothing but their own body as a weapon, even it's special attacks would likely be melee based. That's why I said pure tank and not simply Tank Class. Superman could be considered tank class despite his size but in game he relies more on his Kryptonian abilities, and is far from a PURE Tank.

When I refer to PURE Tank, I mean they have no gimmicky superpower, they rely on brute strength and durability to win the fight. But there should only be one, in a way, a single character without a gimmick, is still a gimmick.

any news on when Boon and co are revealing anything new?
