Isildur´s Heir Your post was pretty dumb, it's all a matter of opinion, i personaly enjoyed FF way more than Batman Begins, which to me is becoming the most overrated movie of all time.
I totally agree that Batman Begins is extremely overrated, even if a good movie, is not the perfect one that many say it is.
And i was not comparing FF to BB as movies but in tone.
One is very serious, and the other, with the theme of armageddon, should be too.

Well, I never expected to go from 1989's Batman to 1997's Batman & Robin. (Using a movie that "everyone" hates. )
And I didn't expect to go from 1979's competent Star Trek:The Motion Picture to 1982's brilliant Wrath of Khan.
But that´s not comparable...
Batman and Batman & Robin are movies from diferent directors, and after Batman Returns, WB wanted to make a movie based on Batman´s tv show.
As for ST: TMP and Wrath of Khan, not comparing the too in the quality department, but, the tone is basically the same.
No Star Trek movie makes that great departure for tone from one movie to the other.

There are plenty of light moments to be found in FF #48-50 (The so-called "Galactus Trilogy") just as there were light moments in every issue of the FF. The comic was a fun adventure with moments of seriousness.
And I think that's something that a lot of non-FF-reading superhero fans just don't understand. And in my three decades in fandom, I've found it's like trying to explain the sublime experience of M*A*S*H* to a hardcore Full House fan. At any rate, I don't think this material should be approached with the seriousness of Batman Begins. In my opinion, that would be stupid.
I´m not sayin that there shouldn´t be light moments in FF2, and i´ve read plenty of FF comic books in my past (for 20 years or so).
And i´m not saying that it should have the serious tone of Batman Begins, but the thing is, many comic book readers can´t see past what is in front of them (i´m not saying you or anyone), they don´t know how to read between the lines.
FF is much more serious than people give it credit for, and people seem to miss that....all comic books are, you just have to find the seriousness of it all.
And then we are talking about a movie about Armageddon, that subject can´t be taken lightly or it just becames stupid.
