Wow. If Jessica were any blonder she'd look like the 3rd Olsen twin.

LOL. I guess they really wanted her to be a blonde this time. That was 1 complaint fanboys had with Jessica, she was not blonde enough. LOL. Now she may be too blonde.

Well, I hate to say it but...through no fault of her own, Jessica really didn't capture the "WASP" look consistently in the first film. For example: the scene when Reed, Susan and Johnny went to Ben's room right after their transformations...as they were trying to break down the door, Sue looked decidedly spanish with dyed hair to me...I just had a hard time shaking it because she didn't look believable--especially next to Johnny's pale self. And it's not like the actress isn't fair enough, it was the choice of grooming and makeup. I know they couldn't dye Jess' hair too light because that stuff is very damaging, but the end result looked like...well, a dye job.

Looks like they've rectified the problem, with great results. Jessica really looks like Susan Richards now. The lighter hair roots, blonde eye brows and of course the blue eyes make her look...more natural for the role.

The only time I had a problem with the fairness of her skin was the hospital scene....I actually thought she looked great in the restaurant scene which was just before the scene you are talking about....I saw no problem with that scene at all.....the best she looked as far as I was concerned was the scene where she finds Reed asleep at the computer....save the lets show off Jessica's boobs clothing....I liked that look as far as make up and hair. She herself, said that she liked the New York scene and the Liberty scene because her own make up people did that scene....I don't think she was too happy with the make up people for the movie....

But other than the hopsital scene where she was asleep, I had absolutely no problem with her look, and honestly I was alittle fearful of that myself...

As far as looking Mexican....not at all, I thought she embodied the French/Danish half of her family completely with the blond hair....

Let's face it. She will never be the traditonal Sue Storm. She's just too young. They are going with the Ultimate Sue Storm, not the original motherly Sue Storm. Sue Storm was much older then Johnny. Chris Evans is about the same age as Jessica Alba, and that is why it doesn't work.
She's not the traditional Sue Storm, and we just have to live with that fact. Reed and Sue in the comics, you felt the age difference was about right. In the movie version, you feel like Sue would be jail bait to Reed.

Hmmm. I both agree and disagree with that statement:

When Susan first walked in Doom's office during Reed's business proposal, she definitely was carrying herself as a grown woman. She was sophisticated and in control. If she had been consistent with that same business-like portrayal it would have worked. It's only when she gets around Johnny and starts...well, whining, that she acts and comes across much younger and childish. But that's all due to poor writing and I hate-hate-hate the way they dressed her in some scenes. That's why I feel like FF1's take on Susan was more Invisible Girl, than Invisible Woman.

Ugh, I never got that impression. I always felt Susan was a peer of Reed's...Ioan doesn't look that much older than Jessica at all.

As far as "traditional"--quiet as kept, this new look is the closest we've gotten so far to the 616 look of the character. Now, it's down to the lines, acting, direction and writing to see if the personality is there. I think Jessica has the potential to capture the "motherly" aspect of Susan but she needs direction. It needs to be in the writing. Not once did we see a compassionate side of her in reference to Johnny. It was nothing but a scoldfest throughout the whole movie. It would have been nice to see Johnny depending on her, coming to her for advice, etc. That would've shown who's eldest.

I agree that Johnny is much younger than Sue, but in the comics when Sue and Reed marry, isn't she about 21?....which actually makes Jessica 4 years older than what Sue was in the comics....it is Chris that is extremely far from the correct age Johnny at that point was what? about 16....Chris is 25...It seems to me they are going more with a UFF Johnny than Sue....Johnny seems much closer in age to Sue in the UFF than he does in the Regs.....the only thing from the UFF standpoint as far as Sue is the fact that she is a scientist....if anything....as far as look of Sue and Johnny.....they are going with the MK issues.....

I think Jessica agrees with you on this point....

The restaurant scene showed the woman side, the restaurant scene with Victor (that was cut) showed this very well....

Agreed....it's funny but Jessica is probably the closest to the correct age....well actually I think Ioan is, but the others are far from the correct age....

Again, that was a problem Jessica had with Sue in the first movie as well....she didn't like that all she did was gripe at Johnny.....Michael came up with some lame excuse about it being an origin movie....but I think Jessica had a real problem with that....my hope is that she speaks up this time around and goes the motherly direction......she knows this character, and she wants to play her more the motherly, compassionate type.....hopefully Payne wrote her that way this time around....

Aggred. When we first saw her she looked right. Then the character went down the tubes. In the comics, Johnny could always go to Sue. In this movie, if I were Johnny, I would be scared to death to go to Sue, she was very rough with him, and that is not how an older sister should be. Mabey they will correct it. We'll see.

It's like this.

You have a pizza that's divided into 5 large slices (the FF and Doom). Now, you've got to divide it into six pieces to make room for a newbie (surfer)

Somebody's gonna lose some bread. :oldrazz:
Too bad that the Thing lost a big chunk of his slice, when they cut away three nice scenes with him in the theatrical cut.
But I'm sure in a couple of months you'll see a Fantastic Four 1.5 DVD in the stores.

I keep hearing people talk about these cut scenes that weren't on the dvd. Where did you see this?

There were about 12 scenes running around the internet....someone did a fileshare thingy and a bunch of us downloaded them.....they are too large to send by Email, or PM's....and I don't do the IM thing anymore....so someone would have to do a fileshare again I guess....

Whats with the Doom pic? Does he use the cosmic power to cure himself or does if come out of the crate cured?

Noone knows. Is it a Doombot ? Is it the cosmic power ? Does he come out of the box that way ? Noone but those involved know.

Jessica looks pretty awful in my opinion... the hair; the fake, fake contacts... - looks like a sex doll.

Not my taste of hair, yes.......contacts looking fake...disagree................sex doll?????? how?????? she's zipped up to her chin....lol

I tried to erase the words from the cover. I had to copy a lot of the lights and buildings. It still doesn't look right, but feel free to make it better.

Have you seen this? Teaser poster apparently of the same image.

Does anyone else not like the fact that The Thing is getting a reduced role this time round? I liked everything i read in the Empire article until that part.

I will be severly dissapointed if this is the case as Ben Grimm was one of the only things (pun intended) i enjoyed about the 1st movie.

Hey does anyone have the actual scans to put up again...??????? seems they have lost their way....lol

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]A production decision in "Fantastic Four 2" to increase Jessica Alba's prominence as The Invisible Woman, led to the entire script being rewritten. Look for her to take a key role in most scenes - mostly at the expense of Michael Chiklis' Thing.

Whatever. It's a rumor site. I'm sure their biggest star will have a prominent role, but I doubt it required any rewrite.

Anyway, I'm very curious to see what kind of role The Thing has. Almost every shot we have seen has him in it so far. However, Chiklis comment in Empire seem to dispute that. Drama, Drama, Drama.

I smell cow crapola when I read that article....lol
