Interviews!

Louis Leterrier said:
Hulk's face will be Ed Norton's face, and The Abomination will have Tim Roth's face.
Funny, because this looks nothing like Ed Norton.

Maybe it has been changed. Too bad if it has. This is the ultimate live action Hulk.

I don't think they will give Hulk the sagging cheecks like Norton has... they should at least include the mole on his cheek when he tranforms.

They said they were including the mole & Norton's scars, tho I never realized he had scars... But the big model of the hulk has Ed's mole, so they wern't lying, you can clearly see it in this pic...

Also here's a link to the interview in Total Film, I don't know if it was posted, but here you go...

Louis Leterrier said they had designed the Hulk even before casting was made so the Hulk wasn't going to look like whoever was gonna play Banner from the start. Once they got Norton they made some changes like adding scars and a small mole which Norton has.

What Louis meant in the Empire interview is that Hulk will have Norton's facial experessions with the motion capture.

...that Statue was actually based from Ang's Hulk, the Hulk from the first Hulk out.

...The statue from just a few posts back? No... no I do believe that IS from TIH. Even the front page seemed to think so.

Not only that, if it IS a statue of Ang's, it's a horrible representation of it.

Does anybody know if this issue of EMPIRE has been released in the States?

Wow I never noticed how small the ears were on Ang's hulk...

So happy to hear we'll be getting an intense Ross!

Then why does it look nothing like Ang's Hulk?

lol, the statue looks more like the Hulk from the first hulk out. His face looka nothing like the CA we got from CC.

I guess I'm still in the minority on this, and although this isn't the place to discuss it, the last picture on the bottom right of Sava's post illustrates my point, which is to say that I feel this new Hulk should resemble Norton, somewhat. That pic of the Hulk when he's turning to see Betty was the best of Ang's whole film IMO, and to me, he looks as he should, like a mutated, transformed Eric Bana. Now I like the new design from what we've seen of it, but I just feel it should resemble Norton a little, the Hulk is Banner, not a whole separate person.

Like I said, I've had this debate plenty of times on here, so I really don't want to repeat that, but that picture just brought back those old feelings. I'm all for this new Hulk look (at least facially) because it's pretty much a Sal Buscema drawing come to life, which is what I always wanted. But Sal Buscema's Hulk also resembled Banner, no matter how monstrous his face was, you could tell they were the same person. It's not like when Banner transforms his whole bone structure and skeleton should disappear, it should mutate, stretch, elongate whatever you want to call it, but it's still his skull, still his face.

And yes I know, the Hulk is not realistic so why should they try to make it a realistic transformation yadda yadda yadda...., all I'm saying is, hopefully, a little bit of Norton is visible in the Hulk's face, aside from a scar and a mole, but as long as it looks great it really won't matter to me i guess. Lord knows I don't want to act like my viewing experience will be ruined, like some of our Dark Knight friends did with all that permawhite nonsense....

You misunderstood the post Sava. Let me break it down for you, old school. :oldrazz:

This is NOT the the actual Hulk from the movie. It is an interpretation of what he will look like from an artist who built the statue for a display at the Toy Fair. He will look way better than that as once again I state, it is a statue. You know the hulk's hair wont look like clay. The Hulk looks closer to a more slender and more ripped version of Ang Lee's in terms of girth and size (first transformation). He looks (face) like the concept art, except obviously CGI. I mean, I like the statue cause its a Hulk statue, but it's not the movie Hulk. When You see the trailer (yes, I know) you will see for your self.

First off he is saying it is not the Hulk from the movie. But it IS an artists representation of the Hulk from the film (Not Ang's film.)

Now for the second point he is saying the Hulk in the movie (Incredible Hulk) is going to have a body similar to a more slender version of Ang's, but with the face of the concept art.

Meaning this statue is still for TIH, but is not representative of how he will exactly look, more a less an artist representation.

Made sense to me.
The statue is just an artist's interpretation of how the new Hulk will look.
It looks awesome, but it might be a hit or miss compared to what he'll really look in the movie.
Therefore, given that we've been told they captured Norton's face for the Hulk, we should probably assume that this will be so.

 ...o......k

:oldrazz: sorry might have worded it weird. I shall do this bullet point style.

  • Hulk from TIH will have a body similar to the first Hulk out of Ang's.
  • TIH Hulk's face will resemble the comic con picture.
  • The statue is an artist's representation of TIH's Hulk and is in no way related to Ang's.
And whether or not you think the face looks similar (because it is only a representation.) It doesn't look anything like Ang's, not even the first transformation IMO. Much leaner, less of a pretty boy face.

Heres a email I shared with my source at Marvel two days ago waiting to get back on the boards, btw its good to be back with you guys:

Hey you,
Long time no hear, so I thought I'd write to say Hey. I have been burning the candle at both ends as work has consumed my time so that I average only four hours sleep daily. Whew! I have not been keeping up wit the Hulk stuff so I thought I'd ask. Is this so called trailer being show with Doomsday or 10,000 B.C.? And pretty much what's the status of production. Editing is tedious work, lol. I know. We are almost 90+ days away from the premeire and no trailer. All the artwork is getting a little stale. I am truly curious if they are keeping the concept look from Comic Con? I do realize it's almost a sin to ask, but it really is being cut a little close to release time. I am all ears, lol.

Best regards, ********!

The trailer won't be out with 10,000BC... And editorial is now working 7 days a week, and so am I. Don't worry, there will be plenty of new stuff soon. And the concept art is definitely what we have used as our starting point with hints at Norton. Cheers, and no worries,

I'm starting to wonder if you guys were on to something when you said that there won't be a trailer until May. lol

He confirms it won't be attached to 10,000 BC, but doesn't bother saying anything about Doomsday.
Short attention span, or a subtle way of hinting that Doomsday it is?

Lets see this plenty of new stuff soon...

Thanks for the tidbit, EB...

True also that they are cutting this very close to the wire.
