Ryan, they should go for someone a bit older and believable of owning such a big company or whatever.

you know they would just go after saldana lol

Rosario Dawson used to be the go-to girl for black chick love interests. She's black, but not TOO black. Now Zoe has taken the reins. :o

I'm actually digging the cam Gigandet suggestion. He needs a good hero role. And zoe saldania for female lead works better than Dawson imo, saldania is younger.

The only one I want for Colleen Wing is Dichen Lachman ("Dollhouse")

Would anyone want to see Iron Fist vs. Hydra in the movie? I would:

I don't think this is necessarily a movie that requires an A-list actor. Sure it might help. But honestly, look, it's a martial arts movie w/FX. The actor in the lead role needs to have not just acting chops but some physical chops(literally). The budget doesn't have to be big. I think they could shoot the film for way less than $50M.

Cam would be good and I'd go with him over anyone else on the poll. But Scott Adkins is the guy. Check him out in Undefeated 2 & 3 and Ninja. He doubled Ryan Reynolds in the Wolverine film. Yes, his acting could stand improvement. But I want to see someone who is physically capable of performing kung fu, someone who has already invested years in training, and this guy will truly knock you off your feet when you see him. I hate seeing a stunt double used because you can always tell. He's young and could do numerous films. He'd be cheap for the studios. He'd definitely be worth the risk.

Michael Jai White would be great as Luke Cage. He & Adkins have already worked together on Undefeated 2. I would prefer solo fiilms initially for the characters' introductions. Then team them up for an H.F.H. movie.

As for a director for this:
I say no to Ang Lee. This doesn't need to be 'Crouching Iron, Hidden Fist'.

John Woo would be good though he hasn't directed a MA film in a while.

Corey Yuen or Yuen Woo Ping would be great.

But I think they should get Isaac Florentine. He does great pacing story-wise and the man knows how to film a fight scene which would be key for this project. None of that in-your-face-too-fast-to-tell-what's-going-on-shaky-cam work.

When I did my superheroes that need movies now for Iron Fist awhile back, I said Corey Yuen or Ronny Yu would both be great picks for director, plus maybe Justin Lin or Pierre Morel for the Heroes4Hire team-up.

Anyone think they can do a manip with this pic of Garrett Hedlund?

It's practically an Iron Fist pose.

Scott Adkins doesn't have the look for a lead actor. To put it bluntly, he's not handsome enough. If it's going to be a straight to video or B-movie, he's okay. But Marvel is banking on kids, teens, young girls, adults etc. They want real actors who are charismatic in the big screen and handsome enough to win them over into the Iron Fist saga. "Looker" and good actors like Hedlund and Gigandet should have better chance because other than they have the acting skill covered, they would be willing to do martial arts moves. 2/3 or 3/5 of the movies will not be action scenes so good acting/screen charisma is certainly important. I don't see Adkins having that yet.

Jai White is a little short and old as Luke Cage. They need to find someone else first before "going Chris Evans" on Cage role to Jai White.

Fist, if Hedlund passed on Cap for Tron, I doubt he'll do B-list hero like Iron Fist.

Disney movie heads can ask Hedlund to go for Iron Fist after doing Tron. With Iron Fist you have the rich mystical dimension saga, with Cap it's the rather usual Nazi-Hydra-terrorist thing. I think Hedlund can be persuaded to do Iron Fist. His worry is just the smaller budget.

They could have also asked him to do Cap. I'm seriously surprised he didn't get pressured into it.

Maybe the skin tight flag-colored Cap costume daunt him. Iron Fist on the other hand doesn't need that bandana mask everytime.

chiefchirpa ----- based on your argument then I'd have to come down on the side of Gigandet. He's played a bad guy in Twilight and Never Back Down, I say give him a shot as the good guy. He favors Brad Pitt(to me, anyway), he's a good actor, and he actually has some martial training and could readily pick up and assimilate whatever he needed to learn for the role. Personally, I think you're selling Adkins short but I understand your point very well and it's valid.

Someone I forgot completely about until I saw his name mentioned on the thread for Namor who might be good for the role of Iron Fist is Luke Goss. He could do justice to both roles as Daniel Rand and the Iron Fist. (Unless his age is a consideration. Not sure how old he is.)

Little bit about Hedlund: He said that he also didnt do Cap because Tron has franchise potential and that he didn't want to lead 2 franchises.

Gigandet, Hunham are the best choices

and to just throw another name out there: MIke Vogel?

He's almost 42. Maybe he'd be better for Steel Serpent or some other baddie.

^ or Orson Randall. Though Orson needs to be performed by someone with a little comedic qualities.

I could see Goss doing the Steel Serpent role or another villain. Unless there's issues with him not being Asian.

I could see Rick Yune as the Steel Serpent. I know he's a martial artist but anytime I've seen him showcase his stuff I never found him to be all that impressive. Of course, that may not be his fault. Probably the director's. Dramatically he has the chops though.

You know, for Orson Randall, I think Chuck Norris would've been good back in the day. He's a bit old now. Richard Norton, maybe? Bruce Willis would be sweet in that role, hands down.
