Little bit about Hedlund: He said that he also didnt do Cap because Tron has franchise potential and that he didn't want to lead 2 franchises.

Gigandet, Hunham are the best choices

and to just throw another name out there: MIke Vogel?

Gigandet would be my second choice fo Danny.

On the subject of Misty, how about Jessica Lucas?

So this is what Kevin Fiege had to say about the Iron Fist movie:

Plans are still underway for an Iron Fist film. A script is currently in development.

Feige writes: "[A] very talented writer is currently working on a draft."

The Iron Fist script is based, in part on the Brian Michael Bendis / Matt Fraction series.

Feige writes: "[T]he movie is definitely inspired by that great run."

Think they meant Brubaker instead of Bendis. :hehe: Still, this is very good news, there's so much potential with the movie so I'm really glad it will be based of the Immortal Iron Fist series.

Was thinking about Danny's suit and how it would be on the big screen, how about the suit he had in the MUA 2 game?

That's a really cool costume. I think I prefer it to the one worn in the comics. Lose the jockstrap and that would be a great movie costume. Hopefully they don't go for a white color in the movie like they have in the comics. Danny's new white outfit doesn't do it for me at all.
Let's hope we get some solid news for Iron Fist, Dr. Strange and now Black Panther in the near future. Would love to know what release dates they are eyeballing for these films.

That is a solid effort.

A thought just occurred to me, Danny started training to become the Iron Fist at the age of nine, and at nineteen defeated Shou-Lao the Undying Dragon and gained the power of the Iron Fist. My point is do you guys think Marvel will go the route of casting an actor for Danny who is around that age say 20/21 and not older? Who would be a good choice?

I can see Hedlund as Danny. Pretty good casting, and he's not all that bad of an actor either.

I think gigandet is my first choice. He needs a good hero role.

Nah Hedlund is a better actor than Gigandet, although Cam is a better action performer. Being in Tron franchise, Garrett can be swayed by Disney to have another filming contract on its Marvel division

Jasika Nicole (Astrid from Fringe) would be my choice for Misty Knight

but Jess Lucas is fine too

For sure, not mention Hedlund has the right look for Danny. He's stated he wants to do a superhero movie, I think Iron Fist would be perfect for him.

I'm still holding out for Dichen Lachman (Sierra from Dollhouse) for Coleen Wing. Of course after Dollhouse I pretty much want to cast Lachman in everything forever. :woot:

Oh Lordy... Yes Lord... (in the voice of Billy Madison)

Charlie Hunnam would be better than hedlund and Gigandent since i think he is a better actor than both

My instinct tells me that in order to do Iron Fist the right way it has to be an homage to kung fu flicks. Which simply cannot be achieved with actors that have no kung fu. I'm sorry.

Iron Fist is not, IMO, a superhero. He's a kung fu warrior, his foes are kung fu warriors. What's so good about The Immortal Iron Fist versus the Iron Fist series of the 70s is that it captures the feel of 70s exploitation and kung fu films, while the original Iron Fist run is just a superhero comic and whats written and approached like any other superhero comic of its day.

The Immortal Iron Fist is more like a kung fu fantasy with exploitation stuff. Iron First needs to be a Grindhouse kind of picture, not a polished faux martial arts movie with any of these actors you guys are suggesting... and they are being suggested largely because they are blond haired. None of these guys screams out to me "Danny Rand."

I like Ray Park's passion for the role, but he's probably a bit old and in all of his major roles he's essentially just a stuntman with a couple throwaway lines(Maul and Toad). So he's probably out. I'd say Scott Adkins but again, his age might be a factor. He's a decent actor though and definitely comes from a background that suits him to the Grindhouse style that Iron Fist should be given. Good screen martial artist too. That said, I'd prefer someone a bit more wiry.

Your suggestions for Misty Knight are also kind of "meh." Sure, that actress is hot and dark skinned... but IMO, she's no Misty Knight. Misty needs to be a tougher kind of woman, someone you could actually see being like... a member of the Black Panther Party. Not the lady above.

Iron Fist can be categorized as a super hero. His fist can punch a hole on tanks. Now Shang Chi is not, if there's a movie on him (doubt it) it's going to be a kung fu movie.
