What are some good classic IF stories, like before Immortal?

I have been an IF fan since Chris Claremont was writing and John Byrne was first drawing him. There was a great team-up story with Spiderman & The Daughters of the Dragon teaming up to fight The Steel Serpent. Then one of my favorite comicbook fights of all time was IF taking on the Wrecking Crew who were eventually defeated with the help of Cap.

But where IF really shined in the early days were in the pages of Powerman & Iron Fist. Initially he and Cage were adversaries who later teamed in a good arc fighting Bushmaster and later traveling to Kun Lun to fight Master Khan. The finale was the arc where IF contracted cancer and later died at the hands of an alleged kid who was also a superbeing called Captain Hero [BLACKOUT]but was actually Super Skrull[/BLACKOUT] Luke Cage was blamed for his death. IF was later ressurected in the pages of a Namor series. I'm not really sure what was good after as I stopped collecting.

It's interesting to note that Sabertooth, so engrained in Wolverine's pantheon, was actually created as a IF villain way back in IF #14.

FInished reading the first arc "The Last Iron Fist Story" it was pretty cool. Def. want to see it made into a film, but of course I'd change a few things. I'll be reading some more Iron Fist some time soon

As far as casting goes I only have these guys

Danny Rand= Garrett Hedlund

Definitely what OsGom id, some really good stuff there. I'll throw in Marvel Premiere #15-16, Marvel Premiere #25, Iron Fist #1-7 "The Search for Colleen Wing" and Iron Fist/Wolverine: The Return of K'un-Lun #1-4 aswell. All great reads!

Justin Hartley is my pick for IF. but I'm sure whoever they get will do well. [bMarvel has done pretty well in their casting choices so far..[/b]

Definitely agree and same goes for the choice of directors. Look forward to what they'll do with Iron Fist.

Saw this casting suggestion on another forum, how about Alex Pettyfer as Danny Rand?

Ehhhh, he was kinda bland in that flick. I haven't seen him in anything else.

Yeah he's pretty bland

and I hear he's a nightmare on set/has a big ego and I dont want them to get someone just to have him have an ego trip

I havent seen the movie yet but from looking at the previews the guy who directed The Raid might be good

Yeah, I hope they take a look at John Woo. I think he would knock IF out of the park.

That would kickass. They definitely need to get Yuen Woo Ping (Matrix and Kill Bill fame) as the fight/action choreographer too.

A good choice indeed.

Seriously, the potential of the fight scenes are limitless.

God, that one close-up looks so much like Gosling straight out of Drive. :(

I wish Gosling would do a superhero film. THere a lot of them that I think he'd be good at

He's a chump if he thinks avoiding superheroes makes him classy. :whatever:

i dont know/dont think that he thinks that it makes him classy I think he just wasnt into superheroes when he was younger and that he doesnt like the idea of being in heavy SFX movies

Gosling likes to do indie ****. Granted, a lot of thespians are doing blockbusters nowadays because of the avant garde directors taking them on, but some guys just ain't into it.

Hedlund was kind of bland in Tron, but I think he could work better with a Marvel produced movie.

Some Immortal Weapons casting...Viggo Mortensen as John Aman aka The Prince of Orphans aka The Green Mist of Death:

Mortensen would totally own this role. John has this mysterious badass attitude to him and is just a great character. Plus come on, the guy was on a team with Captain Nemo!

well Gosling is set to remake Logan's Run (had a string of comics and television series) for WB with Refn (Only God Forgives, Bronson, Pusher Trilogy, Drive) directing and has agreed to take a role in Wonder Woman if Nicolas Winding Refn makes it... that line of his on not making superhero films is starting to become very blurred...I'm sure he'd be open to it if the right director and cast was involved

Actually, i can understand why some actors dont like CGI heavy films. It kinda makes the job harder when u have to imagine crazy looking things/creatures/machines being there as opposed to just acting is a completely realistic setting.
