Iron Fist in Ultimate Spider-man always reminds me of Jason Mewes when he was younger.

Unless the character was originally written as a teen in the books I despise teen versions of any characters.

Over on CBM Marvel Studios' Louis D'Esposito confirmed they are developing an Iron Fist movie:

Even if Thanos doesn't appear in The Avengers sequel, Marvel president Kevin Feige has hinted that the plum villain will be the centerpiece of the James Gunn-directed Guardians of the Galaxy movie. When asked about the 2014 interstellar superhero team-up, D'Esposito says, “In the development process we have many characters and stories are always planning and a concept that we thought we could use and would be unsatisfactory. Decided to do it. Not think there's a secret formula, as you know we have a Black Panther, Iron Fist, Luke Cage & more that we are developing and things & all you want to be made, but few [films] are made before others.”

Iron Fist and Luke Cage for the inevitable Heroes for Hire in Phase 3?!

Charlie Hunnam for Danny Rand and Bruce Willis for Orson Randall

If we're going to start mentioning dream writers or directors I have to say that Quentin Tarantino was made to tell the story of this pulpy superhero. He's not opposed to making big films as he was in talks to write/direct Casino Royale but was turned down when he wanted to bring back Peirce Bronsen. Kill Bill is basically a love-letter to the kung fu and samurai films that directly influenced Iron Fist. Tarantino took direct inspiration from The Howling Commandos for Inglourious Basterds. He still loves the martial arts genre as he's currently writing two Kill Bill sequels. I think if Marvel ended up giving Quentin free-reign over the project we could end up getting something as fun and re-watchable as the original Blade. The only problem it could take a decade before he ever got around to making it.

He could certainly produce it.

Ok so obviously not right away but maybe one day in the future iron fist can do a reverse daredevil and go from tv show to movie? Maybe a tv show wasn’t the right idea because they kind of had a budget to stick to and they couldn’t do a lot of the iconic imagery right. I want to see something like this

You know, it seems kind of weird to me that the man who is planning to make an Eternals movie doesn't see any value in this character. The Lord (Feige) really does work in mysterious ways.

It's all about what's popular at the moment. Though I personally feel Luke Cage and Iron Fist should've had a Heroes for Hire movie instead of their own series.

I would love to see this happen some day. This book is primarily the reason Iron Fist was the Netflix show I was most hyped for when they first announced the shows.

Feige did actually want to make an Iron Fist movie originally

That would've probably been for the best, especially considering that Cage and IF are the only two Netflix heroes whose characterization hasn't received unanimous praise.

This is news to me. I wonder what made him change his mind, and how we can punish him for it.

I'll find the interview later, but he was asked about certain characters getting movies post Avengers 1 and Iron Fist was one who was mentioned.

Thanks but don't worry, I think I have already found it. It's an old MTV interview.

Same, honestly I was in the iron fist thread every day! It was my favourite board until casting was announced and to be honest, it just wasn’t good enough. That’s why I think maybe it’s better as a movie

He needs to be Marvel's Iron Fist & DC' Green Arrow Mr Charlie Hunnam

Iron Fist will never be a movie guys. The show lasted 2 seasons. Why would Marvel suddenly say "Gee, this failed and everyone complained about it. Let's invest $150 million into a movie!!!" Maybe before the show, and even then I don't think Iron Fist would have been a mega hit before the show. It's just not going to happen anytime soon guys.

Iron man was a cartoon before a movie. And daredevil bombed at the cinemas and they gave it another go, punisher too. Once the dust settles anything can happen.

I mean let’s be honest, people didn’t hate iron fist. It just wasn’t done well. If they did it in a Hong Kong noir way or wuxia style people would love it

Marvel television is only allowed to use characters the movies don't want to use. Both sides are still willing to acquiesce in the company line that it's all connected. There has been no effort to reuse and recast a character used in a TV show in a movie and, when the movie has plans to use a character (in a minor role) in a way that conflicts with a TV show, they've acquiesced and changed the character - Killmonger's girlfriend was going to be Tilda Johnson but they renamed the character in the movie because she was appearing in Luke Cage.

So there's no evidence to suggest that Marvel Studios has any interest in an Iron Fist film or recasting the characters to get there. If they want to make a Kung Fu movie, they'd just do a Shang Chi movie instead. It frankly would give them more positive buzz anyway.

Party poopers. :o

Shang-Chi also happens to be about 75% less cool than Iron Fist, though.

Exactly. If they intended to make an Iron Fist movie, the show would not exist.
