It has been suggested that Danny is kind of a younger spirited person and that the story going from Iron Fist to Defenders for him deals with him growing up to some degree. However, while he might be maturing I could easily see the kid in him being captivated by Daredevils costume during the Defenders, and that being the motivation for him wanting one of his own. Danny, would say something like wow your costume is so cool, I want one. Then of course Matt would help him to obtain it through Melvin Potter. To me it seems a simple enough way of getting the Iron Fist costume.

Anyways that's how I see it happening.

If we wait for the last episode of Defenders for him to actually get a costume, IMHO that's garbage.

Doctor Strange didn't have to wait until the very end of his movie to get his costume and the cloak of levitation. He actually wears a cape.

Exactly. In contrast, Iron Fist wears a tracksuit and bandana. There's no comparison since Iron Fist can be done cheaper.

Exactly. And especially since Daredevil's proto costume was essentially what Iron Fist could have worn, albeit in a different colour.

Do we really need to wait the whole of the Iron Fist series and the Defenders for him to earn the right to wear the equivalent of DD's proto costume, which is what DD was working away from during season 1?

Next we should get a superheroine on Netflix who needs to earn the right to wear clothes like Jessica Jones did during her first season. She'll just have to go round nude or in her underwear until the last 15 minutes of episode 13 of season 1.

I never said he should get the costume at the end of Defenders, I just think they are trying to give it to Danny when it feels appropriate. I myself want to see him in his costume as much as anyone. I just don't want it to feel forced though to please me. All good things come to those who wait. As for Dr. Strange getting the cloak of Levitation when he did it was done at the appropriate time in the movie. He didn't just pull it out of his closet back home and say let me be a Super Hero. No, he went on a journey and during that journey he discovered the world was not what he thought it was, and was shown Magic and mystical artifacts. During that process he discovered the Cloak of Levitation. So, it happened when it felt natural.

So, if I have to wait a little bit for his costume to avoid it feeling stupid or out of place, I am willing to wait. For all I know the appropriate moment might be a couple episodes into the Defenders, or if it felt right during Iron Fist all the better.

Maybe they're going the Smallville route by having ten seasons, where only in the last 15 minutes of the final episode does Clark put on the costume and finally learn to fly, because after ten seasons it's only then he's finally earned it.

Natural for Netflix series.

Maybe they'll only come together as the Defenders to fight together in the last 15 minutes of the last episode too. Before that, they'll be in denial and will go about their business separately. It will be either like the first season of Heroes (where they all had separate storylines and never met until the last episode to battle Sylar) or like the very last episode of No Ordinary Family where they were also never able to fight together as a team.

Once again, I never said the last episode was the right timing. Those were your words not mine. I like most comic book fans would prefer it earlier than later, but I also don't want it to feel forced, just to please me.

We dont even know whether or not he has it at the start of Defenders yet. Those could have just been shots chosen specifically not to spoil his costume. We didnt see DD's final costume until like the day before it released or something.
Either that or they are going with his lame Ultimate costume.

Banging my head against a telephone pole with this total non-answer on Facebook with Extra:

"I mean, who says there’s going to be a costume?” Jones replied when asked about wearing the Iron Fist costume during an interview with Extra. “This is a modern - I can’t say any more. Marvel are going to kill me. There maybe a costume, there may not be. We’re looking at a suit that, you know...”

If Jones is going to tease us like that and he ends up not getting a costume. Let me just say this, I'm not going to be quiet about it.

All the other heroes on TV can get costumes except Iron Fist it seems. Even Jeffrey Mace on Agents of SHIELD gets a costume.

If Luke Mitchell (formerly of AoS) showed up in Iron Fist alive as Lincoln, but looking exactly as he does in Blindspot, then he'd fool other characters because then there would be two people walking round with scraggly beards and similar colour hair. Then if Danny Rand wore a mask, it might be him in the Iron Fist costume or Lincoln.

Let's just say if he doesn't have the costume here, I might advocate for Luke Mitchell replacing Finn Jones as Danny Rand. Mitchell can just say he was never an Inhuman and just used his Iron Fist abilities to mimic the electrical powers, and he was really Danny Rand the whole time. But his memories were rewritten by Master Khan making him think he was an Inhuman.

Sound contrived? Yup. But less contrived than the Clone Saga .

In the trailer he has a shirt wrapped around the lower half of his face, I wonder if that's a hint that they'll do a lower face mask like Elektra's instead of a the top half bandana thing?

I noticed in the preview at one point Danny is wearing a mask of some sorts . From the quick glances it looks to be a Halloween or day of the dead type mask , at least from what I can tell but it made me wonder if he would adopt a version of the traditional Chinese mask or something in that ballpark

Is this it? It's just like a mask for a Chinese festival, and he's still clearly wearing his street rags. Not really a "costume."

Yeah that's it. I wasn't saying that was his costume , I meant would this be the beginning maybe of putting the costume together , maybe this is where the idea stems from or something of that nature . Sorry I didn't mate that more clear , I was thinking maybe he gets inspiration from that mask to take it further
