Iron Fist Iron fist Costume thread

Yeah, maybe it’s just my lack of imagination, but I am very curious to see what they’ll come up with. As far as colors go, I hope they keep the overall green/yellow palette even if they eventually tone down the colors.

I'm going to be disappointed if we don't get the yellow mask.

If they go all black and ditch the dragon logo, I will not be happy.

Frankly, I have no emotional attachment to this costume (and a character as a whole) so I don't care that much about details such as a logo, but I do want him to have a colored costume. Apart from Daredevil, none of the other Defenders care to put on a costume, so hope Iron Fist won't be like that.

Yeah let's hope Danny gets one too!

TBH, I'm diggin his new comic look

As long as Finn's in good shape, just give em the Bruce Lee jumpsuit thing and a mask, and he'd look perfectly fine

Nah, he's trained in K'un-L'un and should rock native gear from there.

I won't mind holding off on the costume but he has to rock it at some point. I won't mind if they go with a more modern take from the books. As much as I love the old school suit, the high collar and slipper thing won't translate well I think. Now some of the looks from the Fraction run are aces.

It would be lame to have Daredevil surrounded by a bunch of people in normal clothes.

I just don't want to wait until the last episode, just because that feels like too much of a troupe started in Daredevil. I don't mind thematically waiting until the end but because of Daredevil it's cliche. But I'm also looking forward to how they adapt it. I've enjoy pretty much every design the MCU has produced and IF looks particularly challenging so I'm excited to see what they do.

I actually think that the simply shirt with the symbol, the wraps on the hands from the more recent books is the way to go and not all that difficult. Even the head gear I think is pretty doable. This is where the Mystical city stuff comes into play though. If we get a sense of the history of the Immortal Weapons and see previous Iron Fists then the costume has more meaning to it.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see something quite close to the original costume. Look at CA: The First Avenger. Steve wore something that was pretty spot on, while he was stage performing. It was a way to pay homage to the classic costume, in a way that was not ridiculous.

Danny's costume had to do with his position as the Iron Fist - the protector and sentinel of K'un-Lun. I think we'll see some variation of the classic costume, in that manner.

I wouldn't be suprised if whatever he wears, street clothes, a 'costume', etc, will pay homage to that, as well. Perhaps with darker colors.

I could see something like a "ceremonial" IF costume that has the high collar, all pimped out, sure.

I'd just give him green sweatpants, a green long-sleeve workout shirt with his chest tat imprinted on it and a yellow bandana with eye holes. That's the Fraction costume. It's easy to put together. Just find the right shade of green sweats at a store or online and then order a custom shirt. He has the easiest costume ever.

I want a gloss on the more modern look too but... That sounds a little too low rent for me.

OK just hypothetically, what's wrong with a variation of this costume?

Here he is with the other Immortal Weapons.

Nothing is weong with it at all. Its vasically a recolored and redesigned version kf DDs Season 1 costume which was awesome.

With a darker green and yello, perhaps Forest or Hunter for the green Mustard/Gold/Medallion for the yellow - I think it would be amazing.

First, it's a disconnect from the general dark black/red tone of Daredevil, and the dreary winter of JJ.

Now, as for why I'm suggesting darker tones - Green and Yellow can be a bit garish at times. I think mellowing them out a bit might go a way to cutting that down.

In all honesty i have no worries for his suit. Marvel pulled off vision nuff said.

The TV division tends to take a very different approach to the costumes, though. Which makes sense when you consider the difference in budget, tone, even just filming techniques and the amount of time the heroes have on screen. It's one thing to make a costume that can look good for one or two big moments with the rest of it being CGI'd and color corrected after the fact and another to get a costume you're going to be shooting multiple episodes in that has to stand up under a variety of lighting conditions.

That said I'm not too worried about his costume either. The MCU typically tries to function within some kind of real world logic (although the movies tend to be a little less so, but they can get away with that) and Danny has a very easy, built in reason as to why he would wear those clothes. He's not from here. Plus, I feel like even his 70s big collar look was pretty simple and sleek compared to others from that age. They've had no trouble updating it throughout the comics, so I don't think it will cause any issues for the costume department.

Thats true. Im also one of the few who likes every iteration of the DD costume.

I'm guessing we're going to see absolutely no set pics of an Iron Fist costume, and then if there is a promo of one, it will be just as everyone suspected: it will only feature for the last 10 minutes of the 13th episode.

His costume will probably evolve as the season goes. Btw are those ninja shoes?

Yes. They are called tabi. The split toe is to allow for better climbing ability.

They are also surprisingly comfortable.

Watch. This will be the Iron Fist costume for the first 12 episodes :D
