You make it sound as if the movie bombed at the box office...

This isn't Scott Pilgrim, buddy.

Well so much for the notion that because of IM2's "horrible legs" this was going to perform poorly in DVD/Blu Ray.

Wonder what the naysayers got to say about this.

I've added a poll on how you rate the Iron Man 2 DVD..or Bluray, if you want to be technical...based on layout, features, that sort of thing. Meant to do it the day it came out, so I apologize.

'fire

You know it took me a couple of viewings to finally realize that Tony actually DID take Fury's consultant offer.

I'm very disappointed that dvd didn't have the same features like the blu-ray edition . This set was very weak compared to the first 2-disc dvd set from the first movie

Its sort of weird. 2-disc version for Iron Man was pretty loaded. This one wasn't. At least we got commentary this time. It always kind of annoyed me we never got commentary for Iron Man considering how strong and well received it was.

It felt like they could've gotten all that stuff on disc 2 onto disc 1 and just made disc 2 the digital copy.

I've heard that they didn't put the making of documentary on the DVD. Is this true? That would really suck as that is the best special feature on the disc.

If so, I'm sure glad I decided to get the Blu-Ray for once. Usually I get the DVD so I can watch it on more televisions, but since there was a combo pack with the DVD anyways I decided to pay the extra $2 to get it on Blu-Ray.

For the 2 disc DVD all the second disc has is two short featurettes and the deleted scenes. The commentary is on disc 1.

I assume this is because of the space needed for the digital copy. But whatever, a little lame.

Personally I'm not big on the whole digital copy bc they tend to take up a lot of memory space. My deal is that if I pay for a second disc I want the second disc to have tons of bonus features on it.

My thoughts exactly

Couldn't agree more. I've never used one of these digital copies even once.

What piss me off is why didn't they just add the three disk set to the 2 special edition like they did with the Incredible Hulk dvd set ? The second disk was packed with extras while the third disc just had the digital copy

I prefer the digital copy over a extra DVD copy, but that's just me.

I prefer a extra DVD of the film instead of Digital Copy

I voted 4... the transfer for the Blu-ray is above average... but the special features a little too superficial

5 million units sold in the 1st week alone. This should add at least another $100 million to IM2's coffers. :wow:

No legs.....my ar$e :woot:

it takes place be before TIH, so stark shows up at the end of TIH as a shield consultant, offering to help ross. or maybe as an avenger, not sure how the other 2 movies will fit yet.

I mean its a good boost definitely.

Let's face the facts. I mean this is a billion dollar franchise now. Worldwide Iron Man 2 outperformed Iron Man. US it didn't because it wasn't quite as well received as Iron Man but it barely did less than Iron Man. But I mean, besides Spider-man no other Marvel Comic book franchise that has become a live action movie has touched these numbers. And the only other one that's surpassed it is Dark Knight.

This also just shows how important and crucial the aftermarkets are now since I think these days studios probably make less and less money on theatrical takes. We are also now about to enter the holiday season and people are going to be shopping more even in this bad economy.

Still with an economy this bad despite what the pundits and the administration might say its good to see a show like this moving some units.

I dig the blu ray, it's actually one of the first ones I've ever purchased, and overall I'm very pleased with it.

But I'm a little confused about it's BD-Live features. Someone on this thread said earlier that they were able to register for BD-Live. I see the blank spot underneath the animatics where they saw this option, but no matter what I do it stays blank on mine. Has anyone else managed to get to the BD-Live option? If so, how? I've gone through the Shield database and tried to uncover every easter egg that I could find first and then went back to the main menu, nothing. Does this disc even have BD-Live? It isn't advertised on the box art (or in Amazon for that matter), but some reviews online mention it in regards to the Shield database, Feige himself hinted that it would probably be an option.

well, the 2-disc steelcase version I own HAS the making of, six featurettes, a design gallery, a AC/DC music video and lots of deleted scenes (with commentary) but no digital copy.:oldrazz:

How long is the documentary "Illustrated Origin: Black Widow"?
There is more Black Widow material in the blu ray (videos, photos...)?

The Illustrated Origins is actually pretty short. About 10 to 15 mins for each character? But I think thats the ones where actual comic book people speak about the characters. You see Joe Q, Dan Buckley appears too. You also get shots of panels from the comic book, it's relatively well done, but abit short

mmm, I don't know if it's worth buying the blu ray for 15 minutes :csad:

Despite the fact that I thought this movie was mediocre, the blu-ray combo pack was on sale at Best Buy for $20, so I picked it up. That was hard to resist considering Target had it for $35. I will say that on my second viewing, I'm more forgiving of the film and enjoy it a bit more. But it's still the least of Marvel's 3 movies they have released.
I do like the fact that the Digital copy is on the DVD disc. It seems like a better use of space. Plus, now I don't have this completely useless disc after downloading the DC.

One thing is bothering me about Iron Man's history and I wonder if I'm the only one. I saw an extra feature on the disc that put Tony's age at 42. OK...So how old was his father when he had him? If Howard Stark was involved in the development of the atomic bomb during WWII, he'd have to be at least in his 20's-30's at that time right? It doesn't add up.

Does this bother anyone else? Maybe they should have made Tony's grandfather as the one that created Stark industries.
