Before I get jumped on:

1. Yes, I chose two black guys as potential Starks, but for this character, race should not be an issue. All Stark needs to be is rich and arrogant new money, smooth, tormented, and ultimately heroic. Both Foxx and Howard could do all that oh so well.

2. And yes, I suggested Stamos. I think he could own the role, even though he carries a lot of baggage. He can act and he really looks the part.

3. Finally, yes I chose the comedic actor Paul Rudd. He's really a much better actor than he's given credit for. Watch "Two Days." He's amazing in it.




To me, any of those actors would play a great Tony Stark.

1. In no incarnation, comics, ultimate comics, cartoons, videogames, has Tony Stark ever been black, so no don't change race in the movie.

2. so what change James Rhodes/War Machine to a white guy, or leave him black?

i think terrance howard would be a good fit for James Rhodes/War Machine. just watching hustle and flow you could tell he would fit the part. as for iron man. cavizel would be a good fit. but i still say bratt, just look at him in the movie "the great raid". but that is my opinion

Depp has gone on record saying he'll be busy for the next couple years with the releases of Pirates 2+3, the production, filming and release of Shantaram, and the the production, filning and release of The Rum Diary.

It was his reasoning for unattatching him from a couple of confirmed and rumored projects.

he's a versatile actor. depp and jackman can probably play a lot of superhero roles. you guys act like everyone on this board is a casting agent or something. who cares if they are too busy to play the role.

Jim Caviezel will bring with him his stupid demands and restrictions which are not suited for playing an alcoholic, morally ambiguous womanizer. He's just a dumb annoying guy who's really not that amazing an actor and should be kept the hell away from a character that requires someone to bring true personality and charisma to the role.
