I mean the whole fancy, rich, slick, action-adventurer with crazy gadgets thing, not the secret agent thing(unless you count his military work as secret agent work) which is the only real difference between the two imo...Except Tony takes the drinking overboard and definately has one gadget that Bond doesn't...
 
I always thought of Stark as a Spanish/ Meditterranian look to him.
 
Tom Cruise has already turned away from Iron Man. That ain't happening.
 
Tom Cruise walked away from Iron Man when there was going to be a 2005 release date because his schedule was full and the project wasn't right at the time. He is interested and has room on his schedule for 2007 so all hope is not gone but if Iron Man is to be released in 2006 or early 2007 there is no shot. You never know. Personally I don't want him there because I can just see him trying to stall on the sequels or causing issues over signing a multi-pic deal without demanding 10% of the gross against a 20 million pay day. So I say no to Tom.

It's tough to say what is going on,the continued silence by Marvel makes specuation worse. Arad said a month and a half ago there would be a major announcement about Iron Man, and "the whole world will know what we're doing" routine and it never came,then the rumor came out the Cruise was in fact still interested,it was his schedule that kept him from taking the role last year,(a little film called MI:3),so until Marvel say's something,we are left to only speculate.
 
Its not like I was making a racist comment dude. Everytime I see him drawn, it just always looks that way.

IM already has a directer and the casting isnt coming out for awhile

Johnny Depp. He's a good actor and looks a hell of a lot like Tony Stark from the comics. So does Oded Fehr actually.
 
Guy Pearce is my first choice, but I'm pretty sure it'd never happen...
 
 
 
I agree he does look alot like Stark. I've read strong rumors over at Darkhorizons.com that Tom Cruise still wants the role and will most likely get it after he's done with MI:3,it opens a very heated debate among Iron Man fans as to weither or not he should be Stark,he looks nothing like him,(even though,they are drawing him to look like Cruise now),but Cruise is a talented actor who bring enormous star power to the role and would insure a huge box office opening,but he would be difficult to get back for sequels and would want more than his share od control of the project.
 
I would rather much see Gerard Butler fill Stark's shoes.....

Ethan Hawke is my front runner, but there are a couple guys that could pull it off.
 
Mark Walburg. Screw Cruise and his fraud marriage and the baggage that comes with him. LOL Tom Cruise would make Iron Man a "Tom Cruise Movie" which is the opposite of what we want. We want an Iron Man movie and an actor that will commit to the required 3 pic deal with not escape clause for the actor...which is as usual for all Marvel films. We also don't need 20 million against 15% of the gross being wasted on him.
