He did start (as far as I know) his acting career on "General Hospital" years ago. I remember my sisters and their friends liking him back then so he's not all "Uncle Jesse" just about 85%.

p.s. I'd rather John Stamos play Iron Man then Tom Cruise, at least there's a chance I may see it. If Cruise played the part, I'd rather stick a red hot fork in my eye than watch it.

I heard this John Stamos rumor a year ago,was started by some guy who likes John Stamos,was always nominating him for the role,can't remember who the guy was,but everyone got a good laugh out of it.
Believe me, Marvel will look to a actor who can carry a major film by himself,not saying Tom Cruise,but guys like Jude Law and Jim Caveziel,A-list guys,not B-list TV guys.

Yeah, but the Olsen twins just suck at acting. I don't think Stamos has ever really been given chance to show his acting chops. Well, he won some award for best actor in soap operah or something..that could mean something.

I can't believe any studio would trust John Stamos to carry a film of the level that Iron Man requires or the respect it deserves.

John Stamos has never carried a film of any great note at the cinema, and it is highly improbable that this late in his career he would be given the starring role of Tony Stark. The man is like 42 years old. That's 8 years shy of 50. Most superhero films generally go with someone who is younger. I personally don't see them investing in John Stamos.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall at the board meeting where someone genuinely and sincerely tries to sell the notion of John Stamos headlining an Iron Man film. Can you imagine the reaction to most people associated with the film at a board meeting?

John Stamos really has no impact in entertainment other than being a has been from a family sitcom, and being in many unforgettable failed television pilots or short-lived series. Furthermore, he'll always be known as the former EX-husband of Rebecca Romijn.

Stamos is probably a likeable guy, and not a bad human being. I've really never heard anything negative about him. He just hasn't been able to parlay his career into any great roles, either due to lack of management or lack of talent. I highly doubt a management that has not been able to catapult him into the big screen is going to be able to get him a coveted role of Tony Stark aka Iron Man.

Marvel producer Avi Arad has said that he will be looking for someone more of an American James Bond to play the part of the Dreamy and Dapper Tonny Stark, and becuase of his role in Mission Impossible it was origionaly Tom Cruise that was offerd the part and said, " I would love to play Iron Man, thats like every kids dream come true!" But unfortunately For the Hollywood hunk, his childhood dreams may be smashed to iron bits! After his short lived sit com losely based around his life John Stamos had entered the running, produce Avi Arad said, " Now that it what we need for Iron Man, he needs a mustache, but it would work!"
