David Boreanaz.
I really think Boreanaz would do Iron Man justice. It would keep budget down and draw some of the Joss/Buffy/Angel nerds to the box office. He is fit for action scenes, and would be able to pull off the playboy role. Plus his role on Bones portrays him as a no nonsense take action type of guy. I've read Iron Man comics for years and he is the guy who keeps popping into my mind as someone who could play Stark.

Actually, I like David Boreanaz, I suggested him about 2 years ago. He's a decent actor,he needs to livin' up a bit,he can be very flat at times, but he certainly is in my top 3 in my cast wish list.

he needs to establish himself successfully outside of superhero roles before he could ever start playing some other big one.

Besides, so many comparisons have been made between both Angel and Batman, and Iron Man and Batman, I don't think that would work to his favor either.

You know I never thought of Billy Crudup before for Tony Stark but that's a good idea, I say yes and Almost Famous is one of my faves and I watch it all the time, I just never thought of it since he usually does just smaller movies but, that doesn't mean he can't come over to bigger movies like Toby on Spider-man.

My casting for Ironman in the 80's... Timothy Dalton

Crudup is unlikely to even entertain the idea. He doesn't want to be a big mainstrea star. Turned down Hulk for that reason.

I've got the perfect Tony Stark

Kyle Chandler aka Bruce Baxter from King Kong (which was an excellent film:up: )

in the scene where he's looking at his poster with the drawn on mustache, I thougth to myself, he'd make a good Tony Stark

LOL! I had the exact same thought.

I originally wanted to see Pitt as Iron Man, but after seeing DiCaprio as Howard Hughes, he would be the ultimate Iron Man. Tony Stark was very similar to Howard Hughes, only replace the obsessive compulsive disorder with alcoholism, and basically you've got Tony Stark in a nut shell.

Casting suggestions for these things shouldn't be based on how similar a character a person is well known for playing is to the one your casting. It's the same falty logic that has 90 percent of suggestions for "Thor" coming from LOTR, Troy, or some other sword and sandal/fantasy type movie.

What makes it faulty logic? A lot of actors are cast into their roles because of past performances that may have been similar to the character. I'd say moreso than an actor getting cast for a role that originally wouldn't have been considered. My opinion, neither method is faulty, they are simply different methods that have both proven success and failure.

And not only has Dicaprio's role as Howard Hughes led me to believe he would be an awesome Stark, but also his role as Frank Abagnale Jr. in Catch Me If You Can.

I still think oded fehr or karl urban could pull off Iron man with ease and both haven't really had big roles these could be their breakout roles.

Mark Walhberg Is okay but isn't Stark Latin or spanish or someting everyone keeps picking caucasion actors.

This doesn't belong here but I was thinking Matt damon for Captain america.
