No. I wouldn't say bothered. But, like I said that stuff is annoying in real life. So why do it online? I don't want someone to step up and try to be my teacher if I'm trying to get away from school. I mean Wil was right about everything he said. So I mean I'm not like against it or even upset with him or anything.

It would just be better to kind of ignore things like that. He was talking about friends in highschool so the kid is obviously, just that, a kid. It's not like he's 23 and types like a 13 year old or something. He probablly does not type like that for essays. So what's it matter to have a few mistakes in a post?

I'm from Ireland so you can imagine how popular beer is here. I'm the only Irish guy that doesn't drink. Irish people use every excuse to drink. Oh look my ***** wife just had a baby lets all go out and drink. Oh look some kid from Iraq lived after taking two bullets to the leg, lets celebrate by drinking. The legal age to drink is 18 here, BUT you can get away getting in to bars by 17 or sometimes 16, it's who you know really. Everyone I know drinks. I don't. Does it bother me? Not so much as it used too. What bothers me is people who can't handle there drink.

My friend who used to never drank, now decides to. It's obvious because all his friends in college do. Sheep. So I go out with him to the parties. The guy gets so drunk he can't stand. I had to drag the son of a ***** home. There's a dude who can't handle his drink. Thats when it bothers me. It also bothers me when I see girls who have good relationships who start making out with other guys because their drunk. It's like ***** don't be drinking if you can't handle it. Drunk single girls are great though, you can do whatever want with them without them remembering.......

As for drugs, my respect goes out the window for people who do it. I went on a college trip to Venice last month. And not only were the students taking drugs but the teacher with them. A lot of the students are in there late 30's with kids.

When it comes to drink I don't mind people who drink as long as they can handle it. People who take drugs, well thats their business but I will not have time for people who do them.

Well...I regularily drink Dew and eat brownies....and I have never used illegal substances....so that theory is not too correct.

Beer is my least favorite drink, I've never gotten used to it, and i dont think i ever will..

I seems that everyone drinks, Especially in high school and collage, where every party is filled with drunken *****bags and thugs. It seems you can only make friends in high school and collage if you lower yourself to what everyones doing. (sheep) But if thats how to make friends, then i'd rather be a loner. Everyone wants to share the Same cool. especially in school. Everyone has to like the same thing and so the same thing(drinking, drugs) But to me cool is a point of view, and drugs and alcohol are not in my definition of what cool to me is. you shouldn't have to drink or smoke to be accepted. But hey, who wants to be accepted into a group of scumbags anyways? i know i don't.

I talked to a few of my friends over the year who drinks and smokes and they agree with me. Thats all what kids do these days are drinking and doing drugs and thats what their lives revolve around, day in and day out. She was surprised that i never done anything. She even convinced me by saying "you'll make a lot of friends" then i replied with "i'd rather be alone" with a smile.

I used to have a lot of close friends, but now i lost them to drugs and alcohol. I cant hang out with them anymore because all they do is get drunk and get high. They used to be fun and interesting. Very creative and we shared a lot of hobbies and interests. we made a lot of movies and went on vacations (pre-high school) Now all they are interested in is getting wasted. its sad that your best friends can later turn out to disappoint and disgust you.

you make an aweful lot of very broad generalizations, especially for something you've never done. you can't fit everyone into one little group. not every party is full of *****ebags and thugs, not everyone who drinks or does drugs is a scumbag, and not everyone has to like the same thing.

it's so easy to call someone a 'sheep'... i bet you and your friends all sit around and play videogames and read comicbooks, hm? what does that make you guys? non-conformists? you conform to one-another, just like most other people and their friends do.

almost everybody's a conformist in some fashion or another. it's just easier to call other people out, is all.

I didn't say we couldn't understand what he was trying to say (though that one paragraph I quoted was bad enough that it almost got to the point that it was incomprehensible).
I'm sorry, if someone says "Me likes bananas.", I easily understand that it means the person enjoys bananas. But he still sounds like a stupid caveman who likes bananas.

Anyone's free to stand up in the town square and start speaking their mind, but if they ARE going to do that, and they ARE going to go out of their way to be heard, then they can't b**** when someone HEARS them and has something to say about what they're hearing.

I've never understood this anti-education attitude.
Someone doesn't think it's worth the time and effort to respect their audience by bothering to learn the basics of communication...and they're the Good Guy.

Someone else tries to help them out by showing them how to improve themselves, and they're the Bad Guy.

When I misspell something on the Hype and someone corrects me, I always THANK them...'cause I'll remember what they said and that'll be one less way that I might sound stupid in the future and I hate it when I sound stupid. Most people do. *shrug*

On topic, I don't see that there's much to say.

1) There are plenty of high school and college students who don't use drugs or alcohol.

2) The Knight doesn't like beer or drugs (I'd suspect that that's because he's never had enough to actually get drunk or high, because that's exactly where I was when I was a teenager. I'd just take a sip of beer and think "This tastes like dirty dishwater. "
Then, I'd notice that as all my friends kept drinking, they just got louder, more obnoxious, more stupid-sounding and their breath started to smell like rancid cheese.
So I could not figure out why they always wanted to drink...unTIL, I had a Super Big Gulp full of Rum and Coke years later.
It still tasted like a coke with poison in it, but after drinking the whole thing, the world turned into a fantastic, colorful wonderland of fun and adventure and I felt better than I'd ever felt in my entire life.) so he should cultivate friendships with people who have similar interests.

I think if you've never done either and deemed it overrated, some may feel it's a tad self righteous. I have smoked weed and drank a few times over the years, but never hardcore, since it was never anything I had an interest in. I don't do either now for the same reason. Some people are of the mindset that you have to go all out or not at all when drugging or drinking and not pace yourself, which is not something I agree with. I do think that people that have massive problems with someone that doesn't drink or do drugs, and they're not being preachy about it, do have a personal problem with substance themselves.
